Ok Chaps. My third unlock is coming up real soon. Any suggestions?

I have already unlocked the Spec Ops and Medic gun. I was thinking about the M95, although i don't use sniper at all, the increased power and ability to shoot pilots would be good.

What exactly is the DAO? Does it replace the rocket launcher?

Any suggestions would be great.

DAO-12 is just brutal up close. It will demolish groups of 4-5 before reload, with careful aiming. The reload is absolutely slow, though. But, I think that if you can't accomplish what you need with 12 bullets, you deserve to wait the reload time.

M95 is a better sniper rifle than the stock ones, but I'd only unlock it to unlock the new Sniper rifle, which is just FANTASTIC. The new sniper rifle is incredibly accurate, as well as, fatal in many bodily regions.

Just as an FYI, there's two unlocks per each class. You have to unlock the first to unlock the second. If you want to see which one's first, go to www.bf2s.com, look up your account name, and whatever gun is on the top row of guns you can unlock, is the first gun that's unlockable for that class.

If you play much AT, the DAO-12 is worth a close look. It is almost mandatory to survive on city maps like Sharqi and Karkand. Its close range stopping power is unparalleled. It won't do you much good on open maps like Oman or Dalian though.

If you play much medic, I would look closely at the G36E. It is stupid accurate and packs it's 3 round bursts in a very tight group, making it a top drawer medium range weapon. This unlock should be available to you, since you've already unlocked the 1st tier medic weapon (L85A1).

The PKM is also a good choice, if you play much support. As well as the G3 if you play much assualt.

As for the M95, I am not a big fan of it. But it gives MEC and PLA players a bolt action alternative to the stock guns, which don't have the punch of the US M24 (which is more accurate to boot).

PKM tip:

As if the support weapons weren't already accurate and powerful. To make it even more accurate, tap the trigger as you would if you were firing a pistol (tap it to make the pistol fire faster), you'll drop enemies are long distances faster. It's unbelievable.

M: Too many times have I gone up against M24s on karkand while I use my M95 on MEC and win. Or.. they just really suck at sniping. But almost all of them die before they can get a shot off.

I need to start playing again, but my old ball mouse is beyond cleaning. I need a new one. Unless anyone can give me tips on cleaning it.

The two main rollers are clean, the corner one is dirty but not too bad. But my mouse still jams and sticks all the time. It makes BF2 almost impossible.

Yes get an optical mouse. My GF bought me one for christmas and it was only $10.00. However if you spend a few more dollars you can get one with more buttons. The more buttons you have on your mouse the easier it is to play games on the PC. 👍
I will have a really good mouse with my new PC. Hopefully I will have that in less than 2 weeks.

A better comparison is when somebody complained when I shot some guy and he complained that I got him with the m24, but he didn't kill me with his 2 m95 shots. I was shooting up at him, when he was in a tower. My luck with the two rifles has varied. I would say that neither is significantly worse than the other.

The M24 is pretty good, a good sniper wouldn't really need the upgrade. The M95 is marginally better, but in the end the better aimer will win (they both do the same amount of damage, so unless you hs it takes two shots).

Having opinions is all good and well, but the stats speak for themselves. Statistically, the M24 is more accurate than the M95.

BF2S: M95 BF2S: M24

Crucial stat is "deviation when zoomed". You'll notice the M95's deviation is twice as much as the M24's. Otherwise, they are almost identical.

BF2S: L96A1

The new unlock is just as accurate as the M24. In fact, there is almost no difference between them except for the L96A1 loads a little faster than the M24 and has better crosshairs.

BF2S: Weapons Comparison

The L96A1 (new sniper rifle) will stomp the M24 in performance. The damage percentage is so much higher, it's unfair. If anything, it's worth the M95 unlock to get the L96A1.

See my link above. They do the same damage. They have same deviation stats. They are pretty much the same gun.

Ah you see you're missing out the most important difference M; everytime i fire that L96, all i hear is "Booooom HEADSHOT". Sounds fantastic

Of course it really is just a substitute for the M24 for those unlucky enough not to be on a team where they can use it (the M24).

I personally hate the M95, it just doesn't 'do it' for me. The sights are horrible, the gun looks ugly in the game and as for shooting through armourglass, pfft, i've been flukey enough to shoot a pilot of a helicopter once. O-ver-rated.

My mistake ///M-Spec, I was thinking of the SVD. The M24 is nice, but the SVD....well, you get the idea. The M24, does have the drawback of being US-only, though. So, for the MEC/China teams need that L96A1 just to keep things "fair".
