Hey all, I was wondering how do you get the weapon unlocks?

And also, At bf2s.com and bf2tracker it says that I'm at 100% for my next rank (PFC) but it still says I'm a Private...anyone know why?

Have your tried playing since, if your due another rank you may need to either log in or play a game and kill a few people etc... to get the rank. Either that or the website is wrong

The first unlock is Lance Corporal I think.

It takes 24 hours for your promotion to be activated by EA, i believe.

I found out sometimes it takes just a simple restart of the PC for your rank to allow you to unlock weapons.

Restarting your pc shouldn't have any effect at all. The whole ranking system is online, your pc is merely a client.

It's just a matter of time really. Seems to take about 10 minutes for me.

512MB RAM
128MB ATI Radeon 9600 Pro


Maybe I should invest in more ram. Another 512mb stick.

The more ram the better with BF2. Increase your page file if needed and make sure nothing unnecessary is running in the background. I would also recommend atleast 2.0ghz for BF2.

Me and Blackbird played about 4 rounds today at Sharqi on a ranked server. We make a good team No one captured our flag we were guarding and I think we both averaged at least 30 kills per round.

Also the better type of ram in like a 1GB way the better, i be glad when i up to 2GB DDR3200 from 1GB DDR2700.

Had a good spell as commander yesterday. That was fun.

When I am a Squad leader, how do i request orders and supply drops. Those commands are not in the menu when pressing Q.

Yeah you need more RAM, at least 1 Gig. I'm going up to 1.5 Gig (3200 ) in a couple of weeks just for BF2. Your graphics card isn't really sufficient, but i assume you have a laptop (?) so changing isn't too easy i guess (?).

The only easy laptops to upgrade graphic cards in is the Alienware brand of Laptops.

Played on a server full of n00bs last night and had the funniest time. I'm not very highly ranked, only acruing 5600 points so far, but these guys were rubbish Had many a battle with tanks using the AT kit and 90% of the time coming out on top; took down about 8 helicopters with the IGLA; and pwned all with my DAO. Probably the funnest game in a while purely because it was so easy. Gonna go back again tonight.

I just love shooting down helis and planes with Tanks, i must say its more of a challenge to shoot them down insted of DC. But its fun when you do mates.

Yep, I have a laptop so upgrading is not easy.

Anyways, how do i know what brand of ram do i have? Cpuz only tells you the kind of ram but no brand name.

Have you checked with the maker of your laptop.

They have a nice little program that you download to your computer and it scans your pc and tells you immediately what ram you need and suggests chips for you to buy 👍 All chips they suggest are guarenteed to work with your machine, so no worries

Just make sure to match your same ram speed as your other ram, or it can cause some bottleneck through the ram mate.
