Hey all,
If you are receiving this PM, it means you have expressed interest in participating in a large GTP online meet.
Firstly I have to apologies first of all not being around much after starting the organisation. Hopefully last night went ok. I know we had a decent turnout on out first warm up meet, hopefully many of those who couldn't participate will perhaps to make the next meet in 4 hours time

. Sorry short notice again

. Officially it will take part between 21:00GMT and 24:00GMT 3/1/09 (4th of jan AUS time, but 3rd of jan GMT)
Hopefully many of you can join in and make an even higher participation number than we have had already. If you can't make the 'official' times then I am sure many GTP'ers will beon before (warming up) or after (can't get enough) those times posted

.
Rules
I am trying not to go overbaord with the rules as this is all about fun, but these are important for the organisation side so if your planning on being a host take note.
All games will take part on a private match. So if your planning getting prestige points, then tonight isn't your night, playing as GTP on the public server doesn't work very well, as members struggle to connect with host, and as a result members disappear from party, add in the extra lagginess and the fact that its infintely harder to organise there really is little point unless there are only 3 of us. Private matches allow invites to join in at anytime, so they don't have to worry about a room getting full (unless we get loads of GTP'ers) Private rooms allow for greater choice and customization of game modes and rules, this also includes map selection.
TO HOST
If your a host take then you are responsible for picking the map, picking the game mode, and changing the rules:
Map selection: If your host you need to take note of how many GTP'ers are in the private lobby your hosting and choose a suitable map. If numbers are small then pick a fairly small map, don't bother with overgrown or downpour, think crash, backlot, vacant, when numbers get over 10 you can start looking at using the big maps, try and use them all if you can.
Game modes: Doesn't really matter because you can change the rules to fit any gamemode. A good mix works well.Note that there is not restriction on numbers so every game type could potentially have the the same amount of players as you would find on a groundwar match on the public servers (thats a lot of GTP'ers

)
Most important
Rules: Its really important that you check the rules before each match as a host, the game will automatically default every time you change game mode so after every change in game mode you have to update the rules.
Might as well keep 10 minutes with the default score limit, it doesn't matter too much. What is important is that you put it onto
hardcore mode or you at least set health to minimum and get rid of health regeneration (you might as well put it on hardcore mode to get rid of the screen clutter.)
Once you have set to hardcore mode, re-enable killcam (Some people love watching you they got shot

), its a good source for laughs. More importantly;
disable friendly fire.
Why is hardcore important? well the important bit is that everyone has little health, and no regeneration of health, this is due to the fact that GTP'ers worldwide are taking part so invariably ping times aren't going to be great for everyone and we are going to see lag. It's no fun playing with lag in normal mode when it takes an entire clip to drop an opponent, in hardcore mode you only need one or two hits so hopefully it wont be so unfair on those who are experiencing lag.
Other than changing these in between games (which takes about 10 seconds), you might aswell leave everything else default unless requested so by others.
TO EVERYONE
Charge, your mics and I look forward to battling soon
Any problems let me know ASAP 👍
