 some good video's there.

Finally got to see that vid now, the guy sure talks fast...
A sure agree with most points he made, all too true. (discount some exaggerations made for the purpose of being funny)

Yeah he does speak/ramble pretty quick, I even have to use the rewind button from time to time to figure out what the heck he just said. And he usually has good gaming points, but obviously the primary motive of his reviews is to use biting, obscene and overly critical humor at every opportunity. I love it, but it's not for everyone.

Its one of the most postive reviews hes ever done, if you have seen his review of Halo 3 thats what he is normally like.

Next, something for some laughs. At least, I know I laughed my ass off on some of the stuff showed on this one.
Hey, who hasn't yet experienced at least a few of these while playing?
(crank up the sound on this vid so you understand everything they say, it's worth it)

#6 and especially #3 had me laughing hard.!

guys this might be an uber noob question but how do you get the grass camo thingy on you?

Have your main weapon as a sniper.

Me Picc and Ceiling_Fan were all on but I dont think we managed to get anygames in, we were all inviting each other but never got into a game. I had some reall good matches though, probably one of my best was a Domination with 53-4 record, a couple good HCTDM games too.

Got a hockey game today but I think I should be able to play sometime tonight. Also thanks to the retarded Ontario Liberal government we get Monday off as a STAT holiday called Family Day, so I should be able to play most of Monday.

Lucky bastard.

I'm going online now, just have to take the cable off the PC, attach it to the PS3 and reset the modem. :D

I just had a funny ass match, Right off the bat, within 30 seconds, i had 3 kills, my UAV game me 2 more kills, my AS gave me 2, and my heli gave me 10... lmao all within like, 5 minutes of the match, + whatever i did while that heli was running around... it was a funny ass match!

Do you get worried that your stripping the the cable socket in the back of the PS3?, because Im doing the same thing and Im starting to feel like Im ruining it, I need to buy a coupler.

Yeah the cable's rubber casing is starting to 'shrink', leving the wires exposed. I have to find a solution for it. What's a coupler?

Just had my best match ever on WetWorks (I hate that map), with a 28-5 on HTDM, using my G36C with an RDS.
Previously, I had one of my best moments of CoD4, killing 5 guys in about 7 or 8 seconds, with a M14+RDS on District, HTDM. 👍

I killed 5 people in the space of 2 seconds, though that was with an airstrike...

A coupler is an RJ45 female to RJ45 female so basically you plug the wire which came with your ps3 into this then onto you normal cable, also means you don't have to reach round the back and you wont over time damage the socket on the PS3... They arnt expensive but I keep forgetting to get one!

I just don't want to strip the contacts in my PS3's ethernet socket because Im sure its irreplaceable! :scared: There is nothing else you would plug in and take out so often as this!

Wish my router had more than one port!

Haha, beat a WHOLE team (7 players) in a Team Deathmatch in a single Air Strike swipe (1 second). That was crazy...

I added myself to the GTP clan :p, thought it was a good idea after I saw ceiling fan with it in game.

Anyway, I'm level 17 now (I think) with 192 points to go until the next level

From,
Chris.

Robin: Your router only has one port? Mine has 8 and my dad is bringing me one with 16 although I only have 2-3 things ever plugged in at once.

GT/Stevisiov: I once got an airstrike kill all 9 people on the other team at Downpour, the whole team was at the silo area and I guess they didn't see it coming.

Its a free one from my ISP, it has a second port but thats USB only and I don't want to run my PC though that! For the fact its free you can't really expect much..

Was going to buy a Netgear but there are serious problems with getting a third party router to work with certain ISP's..

All of this because someone thought it would be a good idea to remove the built in router idea from the PS3 concept!... arg and the dual HDMI!

7 opponents in a team deathmatch?

The PS3 only has 6 vs 6 unless its a ground war in which case it is 9 Vs 9

Wouldn't that be called a modem? it and a router are two different things.

(We have a box with a phone jack, usb and eth outputs, it came frome the ISP, sounds like what you've got.)

Edit: Setsiov, G.T. has the X360 version, not the PS3.

Because its got two outputs they call it a router but yeah I guess its more like a modem...

I don't mind swapping the cables, I just don't want to strip the PS3's connections.

Hmm, must have been 6 then. I was probably thinking of HQ since that's 7v7

I've done plenty of TDM's that end up with a team having 7 members during the match.
Usually I'm on the other team and we're 3 or 4...

Any of you guys have a 5.1 or 7.1 sound system on when playing CoD4?
How good is the sound? Can you really tell exactly where 'those footsteps' are coming from, or have the notion of where 'that guy' is shooting from?
I'd really like to get myself a half-decent multispeaker sound system (for music, but mainly movies and games), and got really curious about how CoD4 supports these, and their level of accuracy.

I think I have the same router as you, and yes technically it is a router because it has all the routing software, but only one ethernet port. To split the connection, you should only use a cheap switch instead of a relatively more expensive router. Or at least, I think that's how it works...

And having tried sniping for a day on Hardcore TDM, I have to say it's not half bad. Pretty boring, but you still rack up a fair amount of kills.

I will quote some people from other forum about this matter:

"Having a decent surround in COD4 MP is like having a 4th perk."

"Can't even count how many times surround saved my life"

"Surround + Dead Silence = Win"

My story:

I have a decent 5.1 set-up, with very decent receiver and speakers.

Have played at friends house on Saturday. Sound was stereo through his TV speakers. I felt so lost, have no idea where the sounds are coming from, have no idea where the enemies are, have no idea from which side I've heard the silenced weapons..

With surround, you exactly know those things. And COD4 supports it flawlesly, better than any other game I've played so far.

Don't go for a "half-decent" setup, go for "decent". It really does not cost much these days. And that avatar is so lovely Beerz :D

I think G.T has a 5.1 and he benefits from it.
Yep. I don't have it particularly loud anymore (complains from parents :ouch:) but it still helps.

Edit: A good example I just had was on Backlot where I could here someone walking around to my left. I presumed it was coming from the building next to me, so I turned around to face the door and shot the guy who did walk through. I was about to walk off when I heard a second guy walking from the same direction. I turned around to face the door again and shot him as well. :D

haha, nice guys! me and a friend are sitting here hitting all the challanges up... Just finished Boot Camp chalanges now...

I have what I consider to be a good 5.1 set-up (here - however since that picture I have changed the front speakers, sub, speaker cables and moved the room around) and can fully recommend getting the best you can afford. I have thrown a few thousand at mine, but it has been built up over time and supports my love of film as well. Raise a thread in the Electronics and Home Theatre sub-forum, giving an idea of your budget and we can start having a look at what might suit you best.

In regard to COD4 it does make a huge difference, placing gun fire and footsteps in far easier. To the point if I set-up a pair of claymores on different doors I know from the 'click' which one is about to go off and which direction to now focus on. Don't honestly know how I could play Hardcore without it, as it does let you know exactly the location of sounds, allowing to hear people approaching by footsteps and the direction of nearby firefights, describing it as a fourth perk would be 100% correct. It will also totally refresh your film collection as well, movies are totally different when you experience them with full surround sound.
