So. Prestige or not?

DO IT!!!

I leveled up to 55 a few days ago and i'm not going to do Prestige. Why? Because GT5P will be out before I reach lv 55 again and when it comes out it'll probably be the only thing I play so I'll never unlock all the guns again, or atleast not for a good few months, so I'm not going to do it.

You'll fing it much easier to do prestige again after you've completed the 1st one.
You'll have much more knowledge and experiennce, and everything will seem like " why did this took so long the 1st time?"

I'm now on 4th Prestige levl55, (playing like crap), and although I've spent quite some time getting all the gun's stats up there, I'm thinking of doing it again... and again...

Plus, it allows you to imnprove your skills, by having the experience but not the weapons (at first), so it drives you to do your very best each time you do it, thus improving your overall skills. 👍

I say go prestige... because after 1st prestige, the icons just get cooler and cooler, and you are respected more and more... I have never seen an 10th prestige yet, Its so worth the icon... haha; and it has to be fun and FASTER to rank up the second, third, etc time...

I'm level 42? So i'm getting close... hopefully within a week or two...

I got the gold dragunov twice >_>
I prestiged after I got it the first time. Now that I got it again I'm done. I won't prestige again and I'm not playing as much as I used to anymore.

Getting the gold dragunov was pretty easy for me. I averaged between 6 and 10 headshots per game on maps like bloc, pipeline, crossfire, and crash. The assualt rifles I'll never be able to complete the headshot challenges for.

I've played A LOT in the last few days. I'm rank 41 (1st prestige) after getting 55 maybe a week ago.

Rank 45 now.

After playing around, my favorite combination for would still have to be M16+RDS+Double Tap+Steady Aim, followed by RPD+Grip+Stopping Power, Silenced MP5+Silenced M16(Silenced M14 and P90 for Hardcore), and G3+RDS.

Aah, good to see other fan of that exact M16 combo. 👍
Also, excellent call on the G3 and the M14. (though I tend to use the M14 a lot less lately due to the lag issues, as you can't use multiple tap because of the recoil, and some shots don't register as hits, getting you killed in the process.

I'm on a sniping craze right now, I hate the machine guns, and the sub's. So I'm done with all my Kills on assult weapons, now i'm working on my snipers, drag. alarday done, doing M21 right now...

I'm almost done on all the challenges for the Assault Rifles, except for the MP44, where I only have 8 headshots so far...
I can't wait for the patch, so I can start to snipe some more. The way it is now, and since I'm already a bad sniper to begin with, needless to say I'm hopeless at it, most of the times.

Good news, and hopefully we'll have the new maps soon too!

Finally, quick mute option! I'll at last be able to shut the pieholes of those damn annoying infants...
And it's the first time I se something about connectivity mentioned referring to this patch, hope it improves lag issues, as they didn't exist when the game came out, and everyone played with everyone, before the US got the first patch.

Getting these gold skins is gonna take so long... I barely average 3 headshots a game and i have to get 150 for each assault rifle.

You're doing better than me, my average is 1 or 2 headshots per match, many matches I don't even get 1...

I also got invites from Giancarlo and icelt (that I remember now, probably more), but was unable to join their matches, as I got an error message every single time.


Yesterday I DL'd a CoD4 demo for PC to give it a try, and I have to say I thought it'd be a lot easier.
I hadn't played games on PC for a long time, so my multiple-key skills are really bad, I kept forgetting which key did what and messing up.
On the other hand, it was just fantastic to aim with the mouse, both for speed on acquiring targets and on the absolute precision you get with it, making headshots (and generally well placed shots mean faster kills) way easier. I wish I could have a mouse to aim on the PS3...

I covered it a bit, as it was getting 'too much' attention as it was, but ended up not liking much of the covered one, as it was, well... lame.
How's this new one working for you? (not in terms of any slight erotic content, of course - though the xenomorph is butt-naked)

Holy crap... I just joined a game with the highest ranked guy on the kills leaderboard (160,000+ kills), and he's not normal... seriosuly. I have no idea how he is so good. Within 7 minutes of Headquaters, he had 45 kills 2 deaths. I was following him around, and he wasn't camping or anything, he was barging right into people's spawning areas and getting them every single time. It's not as if the opposing team was bad either, they were killing me quite frequently. This was on the map Countdown of all maps as well, so he could have been shot from any direction, but he still completely dominated. I never got to see his setup, but I think he was using an AK, which makes sense, since he didn't do extra long length shots.

Unbelievable.

I'm in the same boat as Famine (or rather will be in the next night or two) in that it will be time to make the Prestige choice.

I am currently weighting it up and the balance at present is on going for it, to be honest the only things I would miss would be the G3 and my lovely Claymores. Oh, damn losing my Claymores, see that's what makes this a difficult one.

I do have one question, when you go prestige I know all the guns, perks and challenges reset (and on the whole I have no issue with tha), but do all the match types reset as well? I only ask because I love Hardcore matches so much now that its all I play, and going back to straight matches may be a bit of an issue (and can anyone remember what rank Hardcore opens up on).

A bit like some of the division 1 aliens in the OLR series, some people just seem to be ungodly good, which is fine if your on the same side. Me I would put myself down as a good-average on COD4 (and a slow bugger in GT4).

I think (not sure) they do, until lvl4, which you can reach in a match or two.
I think it unlocks at the same time that 'create a class' does.

Scaff will for a couple of matches be known as Mr. Claymoreless. 'Moreless', for buddies.

yes, going through each rifle has greatly increased how fast i pull the trigger, for some reason, in the beginning, I would wait till I had the PERFECT shot! But now I go right for the chest and pull the trigger, I can go through 2-3 guys in 10 seconds at diffrent locations compared to like, 1-2 in the same amount of time back than...

Staying concealed is probally my biggest problem right now, But i'm getting better...

Speedster - I didn't get any invite from you, buddy. What probably happened was that my username was appearing to you as if I was playing but I had already 'left the building'. Happens all the time.
Also, there's nothing to be embarassed for with your rank. I've been owned plenty of times by people really low on the ranks, and having a high rank doesn't mean you're necessarily better. Sure, you'll have more experience, but it's not all that matters.
I have already played many times with Prestige 10 lvl55's, and some of them were lousy.
Some are unreally good, hard to believe actually.

Like the guy G.T mentioned, it's like some people were born for this...

+1, sometimes I think they have a friend over playing the game or something! (Though not always! One on HQ Shipment went ~120/~30!)

Has anybody ever seen birdz? He's been in headquarters matches for at least several days now. All he does is jump... over and over and over for the whole match... I think it's somehow a kind of bot because the jumps are perfectly timed and repeat. As you know, the winning team on headquarters gets 250XP... which means whenever his team wins he gets it too. Maybe he's trying to get 10th prestige without doing anything? The last I saw he was rank 37 on whichever prestige has the "pear shaped" medal (4th or fifth I think.)

Scaff, what is your main weapon setup? Mine was mostly the RPD until rank 40 when you get the P90. Lets just say I was out of practice with a lot of the guns... :lol; When I did get the P90 again I finished P90 Marksman III the same day.

Is there a golden shotgun? Just wondering because there's only two of them and it would be much quicker to acquire than any of the other weapon classes. I know there's a gold LMG (the third one, with the awful ironsights and annoying firing sound) of which there's only three guns.

It varies depending the map, but my main combos are:

M16 + ACOG + Stopping Power - Good all round set-up

MP5 + RDS + Stopping Power - For close up work and for some reason I feel at home with this on Countdown

G3 + ACOG + Stopping Power - For the larger maps (such as Pipeline or Overgrown), because I suck with the sniper rifles this is my alternative.

All backed up with Claymores

On hardcore matches the Stopping Power perk is not really needed so I normally switch it to Overkill and then I have two combos; MP5/RDS + M16/ACOG and MP5/RDS + G3/ACOG.

And once I get to the right point I have given it some thought and I'm going for prestige.

The shotguns are too short range for my playing style, even on Shipment. And I agree with you about ACOGs... though I haven't tried it with the G3.

I thought EXACTLY that a couple weeks ago, and yesterday, I got bored, and said to myself, "Oh, what the hell." I went for it, lol. it gets boring pretty quickly when you have nothing to unlock, not many challenges to finish.

I seen Birdz yestreday in HQ first he/she was on my team and I remember thinking WTF is he doing??? jumping up and down on the spot like that! then we moved on to the next game and they were on the other team, I killed him/her 3 times still doing the jumping stuff. Thought it was mad, I can't see any reason reason to play the game at all if that's all you're gonna do. I was tempted to plug in the mic and say that birdz was learning to fly lol
