I think Im going to try and exchange it... I never knew the Sixaxis would have a problem as the DS2 was really reliable..

Must be a batch thing because I have 2 DS2's which have lasted 9 and 5 years respectively... Really disappointed with the SIXAXIS, I hope the DS3 is slightly better.

Its all because they didn't think about the controller till the last minute and that lawsuit with immersion made everything go tits up!

I'm just getting used to the ninja-tastic combo of G3+Silencer+UAV Jammer on Hardcore games after getting too frustrated with the M14's sights, and I have to say I've never been happier.

Too bad I still suck horribly at Bloc though, as Beerz could probably attest to.

Had a look round the web and found that loads of people have an L3 problem partly due to COD's use of it! The L3 was never designed to be a constantly used button unlike the other robust main ones and its getting destroyed really quickly.... man that sucks, why oh why cant you configure any button for any action!

Ah yeah, yeah I do The human brain is a mystical, and ridiculously complex, thing and at times I'm a fan of just letting mine wander where it will. Of course that does lead on occasion to some rather odd thoughts. Thoughts don't equal actions, so it's all good.

Big fan of the Alien series, although the 1st movie freaked the livin bejeasus out of me. Probably shouldn't have been watching that one as a 10 year old. And the 3d effect of the one you found is ah very nice-ah.


Back to the game, just finished off the marksmen challenges for the Uzi and thank god that is over. Obviously we all have our problematic weapons, but that dang thing might as well be a butter knife in my hands . "Sir, perhaps you would enjoy some fruit spread or nutella prior to instigating my death?"

Right. I'd suggest being able to make X run and L3 jump would help immensely. Oh well.

I have a DS3 and I must say that the extra weight of the motors makes it feel real nice in the hand. Also the motors fill up the handle cavities, which seems to help stiffen them up a little bit and make them feel more rigid. No telling though if the reliability will be any better than the sixaxis.

I have noticed that my L3 is also getting worn out, not to the point that it doesn't work at all anymore but I find that I may have to click a few times before my guy starts sprinting.

Sorry I have been away for a while guys I haven't really had much time for CoD lately, I should be good during March Break though, actually most of March Im not doing much. Except my Birthday.

If you were to switch the jump and sprint buttons L3 would be used whenever you wanted to climb over a wall or out a window or something. That wouldn't really solve the problem of using L3 too much.

Luckily I haven't had a problem with it yet. Neither of my controllers have died on me yet.

I don't really play Hardcore that often, but I do have a custom slot for it, I stick to the regular type matches like GW, TDM, DOM or MTDM, but if I feel like something a little more intense I go to Hardcore mode.

Damn Beerz, it seems like everytime i play with you i do awful.

Anyone tried Old-School FFA? It's pretty fun, with the weapons as pickups, increased jumping, nerfed guns, etc. it makes it seem like a more "run n' gun" game. Kinda like Unreal Tournament (buy Unreal Tournament 3).

Ya I once played it but it was a private match with just 2 of us, so it was less fun. I noticed that when I got killed with say a shotgun or M60 my body flew backwards like I was really getting blown away. Not a bad idea for a match type, its pretty cool.

Another cool thing is that the higher jumps can allow you to reach places you otherwise cannot get to. Think Ambush, Overgrown, and Wet Work.

Right I've gone and done it, now Prestige (and minus claymores - booo), I can confirm that you don't loose access to the match types or your clan tag. Back up to level 5 in a couple of matches and now that I have the challenges open again it should be quicker t get through this time (I hope).

You will - I'm almost going to prestige again (52 atm). I wonder how many times you can rank up in a single match? I'd like HQ at Shipment to be my first thing. I guess a good round of S&D would be better but I suck at it, so...

As long as your team wins HQ, that's 250 XP right there. I recall you'll need 30 XP to get to Rank 2.

Didn't get that from the word go, but I did play a HQ at Shipment last night, started the match at Rank 5 and finished it a few points short of Rank 8, I also managed to get the RDS scope for the RPD in that same single match (actually got well past what was needed for it with about 40 kills).

Funny you should mention that, but I used a silenced M16 with UAV Jammer when I did the silenced weapon challenge, with surround sound I got the 10 kills easily in a single FFA on Crash. I swear on FFA if you use a silencer/UAV Jammer combo and stick to the shadows people just ignore you.

Yea stealth setups are definitely the way to go when playing FFA matches. But with ground war, it doesnt really help as much.

I was playing a match last night, on overgrown, and I did terrible, but one guy got 76 kills with only 5 deaths!! I dont know how he managed that, but I couldnt find him the whole game.

Almost forgot, another example of how useful surround sound can be, I was in a FFA match on Pipeline and someone was using a Barrat .50. The damn things are so loud and have such a distinct sound that every time he fired it I could pretty much pin point his location, used that four times to sneak up and kill him. He called me very bad names over the headset.

I am pig sick of this damn game! I never play on shipment and always get put in there .. sometimes halfway through a match .. as always I leave! but this bloomin game puts me back in the match again, sometimes 6 times into the same match I just left I must have the worst win/lose ratio of anyone in the world due to me always leaving shipment matches multiple times and I've just about had enough of it

I just had one there that was in the lobby .. I left and it put me back again .. 5 exits later and I decide to reboot the PS3 ... only to be put back in the same damn game again when I rebooted

They should erase that damn shoebox map from the game! biggest load of bollocks ever 👎 ... I think we should be able to choose which map we want to play on without being god damned forced into your most hated time and time again

icelt & Scaff - You guys weren't kidding; the surround sound DOES make a difference on many situations. IW really did an outstanding job with the sound on this game, every single thing sounds awesome. Plus, these speakers put out such quality that the game gets even more immersive.
But yeah, sometimes is like having a 4th perk. I call it the "I can tell where you're shootin' from so I'll just go around you and I'll shoot or knife you while you're still unaware of my presence" perk.
Another thing is I've realized that Dead Silence can be more useful than I though, as with a good sound system I'm hearing things I couldn't hear before. (not the voices in my head, those I could already hear)


Today I got the red camo for both the G3 and the G36C, adding to the M16 and M4.
The G3 looks stunning, as it's all matte, and there's more dark grey than red (bourdeaux-like). 👍

Still, I'm missing 116 headsots with the M14, 115 with the AK-47 and 142 with the MP44.
And the prize is a golden AK-47. Lamest of all
