Exactly. My coworkers confirmed this also, though not four hours later or anything..... I told myself "last game", like four times last night, and at my age(34 this month!), that's preeeetteeeeey pathetic.

I ranked up 5 times in the first match.

It probably took me couple of hours!

a6m5, I was in the same boat as you (except you're an old fogey and I'm not ). I actually missed an entire generation of FPS's (last one was Perfect Dark for N64!!) But as you are already starting to realize, the online play is a d d i c t i v e. . . And don't worry, your handicap will be more than made up by my 1337 0wn4g3 sk1LLz. Do you have a headset?

Yeah, only two FPS I have ever gotten into were Goldeneye(N64, of course) and Killzone. I can't wait for the GT5P to come out in a couple of weeks, so I'll suck little less. But I gotta tell ya, although I'm still learning(and sucking at) this game, it truly is so much fun. It has that lazer-tag type atmosphere to it. Upgrading of your rifle, etc. is a nice incentive. Keeps me coming back for more.

I do have a headset, but I forgot how to use the damn thing, and I lost the manual. I hadn't even paired up with my PS3 yet. When I was playing last night though, there were few punks(no offense ) who were out of control with the swearing and obnoxious trash talking. While I would've enjoyed talking little smack with people I know online, I was glad that I didn't have a headset and have to listen to stuff like that.

You can mute players by pressing X while their name is selected.

Anyway, you guys won't believe what I just did: I killed eleven people with a single airstrike. HQ shipment of course. I got 5 kills so I hid in the container in the center of the map and called it. The three waves killed 3, 4, and 4. I stood there with my mouth open as the 10 kill streak! and 15 kill streak! came on back to back. I managed one more kill before being flashbanged and naded. Everybody on my team was like hooooooly 🤬.

Thanks for the vid GT. It's hard to tell from watching but how effective are the shadows for cover compared to the other night maps?

No where near as effective as Wet Works since there is a lot of lighting, but there are still some corners in buildings where you're almost hidden in the shadows. Just this minute I was caught out by someone.

Just went 36 & 7 on countdown, for me a huge (heck maybe even massive) score Makes that 0 & 8 from a few weeks back not quite as painful.

@GT - so Chinatown or Creek? Creek still looks much better to me, although it also looks like sniping heaven.

Chinatown definitely. Most objective-based games are very hard to survive on since when you reach the objective you're likely to be snipered or grenaded. It depends though, but Headquaters is by far the worst. Team Deathmatch and S&D are the ways to go.

Chinatown does all the modes pretty well.

Tried to get into the games last night but got connection errors

I got countless invite from ceiling this evening, but same deal here. Is this common? I've played with my coworkers bunch of times now, but no problems until just this evening.....

Connection issues are quite common. Fun playing with you and Minus955, though. We got disconnected and I was able to re-invite -955 but not you.

@ -955: that last match on Ambush was annoying wasn't it? I finally figured out what they were doing, they were going to "out of reach" spots on rooftops. Two of them (tgobush and Pegaz) were on the side of a wall probably at the single highest point on the map, just sniping everybody. I only found them because of one of those death cameras that 'hints' at the enemy's location. I switched to the default sniper class and headshot both of them... too bad it took me so long to find them.

There were lots of connection issues last night. Half the time games would not start or the host left after ten seconds.

I had a team deathmatch game where four people on my team had either 1 or 2 kills and 10+ deaths. I did okay (9-7) and our other guy did a lot better, but it was ridiculous.

Yeah i saw that too, through the spawning-time camera when i was looking through your screen. There was a guy you shot who was like 30 feet in the air! I really dislike that map. Sorry i couldn't talk to you over the mic BTW, it was like 2:30 AM here. My TV's volume was on 9.

I somehow managed to get the blue tiger camo for the M21. It's really a great gun, the stats compared to the Dragonuv are weaker, but there is very little recoil. Level 30.

Ahh, you guys are making me jelous! I wish I had the game right now, I might go later to GameStop and check if they have CoD used. I don't know if I should buy it, 'cause my money is going to be well spent on GTA IV. But I really, really want to see those new maps.

Was playing it today, quite nice to be able to "hop" back onto the game and still be able to win several matches with ease. I played loads of domination matches and came top of the leader board and won plenty of them, or came close.

Great fun, I think I might play it some more
