I was closing in on lvl 55 for the first time to (which is wear ill stay) So i can pick up where i left off

I'm still not sure whether or not I am getting the map pack or not,by the time it comes around GTAIV will be out a bit later and I will want to play that alot more than Call of Duty. So spend around $10 for 3 new maps and play them a couple times or play GTAIV as much as I can?

Interesting that alot of you seem to think this way. Personally I could give an ants abdomen about GTA. However I agree to being pretty indifferent about paying for the maps. I do really like the sound of the Creek map though.

Was doing great yesterday, got three challenges completed and had 21 kills and only 8 deaths (I am not very good so that is how bad the other team was, lol) and then I got signed out of the PSN!!!! And got disconnected and by my calculations I missed out on a 500point single round bonus! WTF!!!!

You must be just new, that sort of thing happens a lot connection interrupted, unable to connect to host, server full, host ended game, not able to download settings, ridiculously large amounts of lag these are just a few of the things you will have to bare whilst playing COD4 but when it does all go as well as it is suppose to it is one truly brilliant game.

Yea i got that mins points thing I managed by biggest streak before firing a bullet today, 7 kills on Bloc just stabbing, called in the chopper then let loose. I didnt have time to call in the airstrike or UAV as i was alone behind enemy lines equipped with my new weapon of choice (bar my trusty blade) the MP5SD.

Of course i also had a UAV Jammer or i wouldve been in BIG trouble, the streak turned into a 15 streak which is far and away my best on Bloc. I used to have this kinda fear on Bloc of moving anywhere, stupid i know, but from fear of snipers i daren't move. Now ive started a sweep technique. Entering whichever buildng my team ISN'T in and running through as fast as possible to try clean it out before im picked up then either retreating towards my own spawn again, or camping out inside the building until support arrives, then back out and round again.

Its a useful tactic as then your own team is free to move as you'll at least draw some attention.

Haha, that is the exact same thing I do, I don't have to worry about snipers because I'm behind them

Yea and even if someone else is doing it, they should be nowhere near you . It's amazing how even after you kill them, they continue to try to snipe and think you won't find them, they could at least drop some claymores or LOOK BEHIND or something but 90% they just get honed in on sniping again.

Easy money.

My best knife streak is about 4... so 7 is pretty amazing. I tend to snipe on Bloc since I like sniping a lot, but the sweeping through the buildings is very effective, especially with UAV Jammer and silencer.

Yea 7 was pretty lucky, the last two i even ran out in the middle towards what was point B as it was domination to get, then hauled back as fast as humanly possible. My team still lost the game in the end...

Bloc is a good sniping map but as proven without some sort of CQB support, you're a sitting duck for people like me, which is why i gave up sniping on most maps, it relies heavily on some sort of organisation for it to really pay off on most maps. Thats why when i do snipe i arrange a partner before hand to come with me and either snipe on any of the directions i could be attacked from or to stick along side me or nearby and give me a much better chance of surviving.

The phrase 'snipers always works in pairs' comes to mind, problem is i have no headset and thus no true partner yet. This has lead me into the UAV jammer and MP5SD tactic, it helps the team, its really good fun and is challenging at the same time. I've lost interest in accuracy, so whatever happens to it, happens.

I never, ever, ever have any lag, but I do get "unable to connect to host" a lot when I'm invited to a match.
Other than that, nothing. This is probably one of the many reasons I love this game.

I've had the game since 11/30, but I finally got on online last night. I started around 10, 11 PM. I had work next morning, but I was up until nearly 4 AM(That's really early/late for an old person).

I was never good at first person shooters, and I really struggled last night too, as it was the first time I played something like that online. Boy, it was fun though. I am addicted. I will be an serious handicap to any team I get on, just to let you guys know ahead of time.

Idneed. I suggest going into Prestige ASAP, since if you try to do all the challenges you'd probably would've nearly completed the next prestige already, if that.

On the bright side, I've ranked up 5 levels in 30 minutes.

I ranked up 5 times in the first match. I still haven't decided if I'm going to prestige again (doing so would put the pretty reddish circle next to my name... 4th, I think)

a6m5, I was in the same boat as you (except you're an old fogey and I'm not ). I actually missed an entire generation of FPS's (last one was Perfect Dark for N64!!) But as you are already starting to realize, the online play is a d d i c t i v e. . . And don't worry, your handicap will be more than made up by my 1337 0wn4g3 sk1LLz. Do you have a headset?
