Just some Sony Ericsson thing.

Guys, get online and send me invites. Send me another one Beerz.

Also, the M14 with a silencer is wicked strange. I racked up a 20-1 score on Bloc. It's basically like using a superpowered pistol.

I never bothered using the M14. Man we had some good matches, today but like I said I had to leave that one early because we were having Christmas Dessert, then in that Downpour match I had to stop playing, lie down in tall grass because my grandparents were leaving and I had to say goodbye. Then my brother wanted to play so I went to the bathroom he was like "ya I quit that game you were in because I wanted to play Free-for-all, and whenever you or Beerz sent me an invite he either declined them or didn't let me accept them.

EDIT: He's still on so if you guys send him an invite he won't accept them and I am probably done playing for a while, I might go on later around 12am.

Hi, guyz! :D

Quite a lot of problems last night with the invites, huh?
Even party invites weren't working. I got some of them from some of the people around here (mainly from Omnis) while on the lobby, which meant I accepted them instantly as they popped up on the screen, and it not only didn't work, as it kicked me out of the online mode...
I checked out the official site and on the forums it's said that it happens ever since the patch was released, and it will continue to happen until EU gets the patch too. Until then, party invites and such won't work between US/EU players which really sucks for me, as most of the members here that play CoD4 on the PS3 are from the US.

I've been out a couple of days for Christmas with my family, and I returned last night to see that there's an increasingly large number of people using the Jugger perk. It's just way too strong, and more and more people are realizing just that and taking advantage of that fact.
I have stopping power on all my Classes (except sniper, in which I have the Overkill perk with an RPD+Grip for closer battles), and whenever I face a guy with the Jugger, it still amazes me how quickly they can kill me with only a few bullets, compared to using the Stopping Power. And when they're using the Last Stand along with the Jugger, it takes almost half a round of an RPD to finish them off, which is just stupid. :rolleyes:

Well I bought a copy of CoD 4 from play asia today, so hopefully I'll have that just after the new year. It was so cheap ($65 AUD) so I'm prepared to wait the 5-10 days it'll take to arrive.

I already accepted your buddy invite, so I'll catch you online whenever you're on. 👍

I also received another buddy request (can't remember the name right now and I'm at work), but it doesn't say anything on the message, I really don't have a clue who's that. If it's anyone from here and you read this, say so. I haven't rejected it, but won't accept either until I know who it is.

I also forgot to address to magburner's excellent write-up back there, great read all around. 👍

I was seriously thinking of doing something like that regarding maps and weapons myself, but it probably won't hold a candle to his posts, so I don't know.

What I would like to know, as far as maps go, is if you guys have any specific names for targeting certain parts of the different maps.
I sometimes find it very hard to direct my team or call attention to something because of the lack of tags for specific locations on each map, and it gets confusing and - more importantly - not fast enough. some of the locations are easy and I have short names for them, but some others, especially if there's at least a couple of similar ones, I find it hard. As in: "watch out guys, they've got a couple of snipers on the little house... hmmm... the one with the small windows... hmmm by the corner of the warehouse... ya know, up there... no, the other way. Oh, you're dead now." :rolleyes:
You get the picture. What names do you use to certain basic locations on each map?

iv just cal cod4 a couple of days ago.....omg!!! it is soooooooo good!!! The online play is awesome but im not that good as some people..im gettin there. I was wondering if anybody would like to add me vishal11 <--(Playstation id) so we could play sum games and stuff....thanks:D

Ya I know what you mean beerz, its probably easiest to call out a position in Domination because you just say "The house by C" and your team should know where it is. On other game modes it can be almost impossible to direct your team unless they are good with the areas in a map or the map has some obvious ones.

Hey im sure this has been discussed but i dont want to read 34 pages and find/or not find the awnser so, i get stuck at the downloading game settings screen. I deleted the update re updated and still same problem. anyhelp?

thanks

I've been getting a lot of that today, and the patch isn't even available for download to EU...
Also, connection interruptions and servers timing out (along with the hosts ending the game) have been on the menu for today.

So... what can people recommend for a CoD4 online beginner? I've only had the game today and have warmed up by going up as far as the tank rescue mission on Idiot mode, but I'm getting the itch to shoot real people...

Don't barge right into situations. People could see you and shoot you without you even knowing. Having analysed my brother's new online play, he tends to stay out in the open concerntrating on one part of the map oblivious to the rest. Try to stick inside buildings and close to walls until you get to know the maps a bit better. The map on the top-left of your hud is very useful as well, as it points to where the enemies are on the map when they shoot or when an UAV is up in the air. It's hard to pay attention to that when you're first starting out, but you will eventually scan the map like you scan the map of a track in GT4. ;)

Try sticking to Team Deathmatch matches at first, since they tend to have the more noobie players than the others. Then try and move onto Domination matches when you're ready for more heavy action. I actually started off playing Free for All quite a bit, as they made me become aware of the surroundings more quickly than any other team-based game ever could. So try that if you want.

As a beginner gun, the Assault M16 is good to get you used to the accuracy. This is how my brother started out very recently and he's got fairly good at it. The MP5 sub-machine gun is for loser combat situations (since it's less accurate), but can be very effective when you're quick at reacting at enemies. It's the gun I use most of the time now. The light-machine guns are very effective as well, but I suggest using the RPD, and only on large maps, as it's heavy and you are slower to react to enemies with it than anything else.

With the perks (access this in the Barracks option in the menus), try to stick with Stopping Power for Perk 2, for extra bullet damage, and whatever suits you for Perk 1. I tend to use 3 Special Grenades as Stun genades since it's good to know when someone is in a room or around a corner and you can stun them for a second so you have a easy kill.

To be honest, only the amount of time you play to gain experience is the real way to become better. Hopefully this wasn't too complicated to start out with, so good luck! 👍

Oh, and as suggested earlier in the thread, if you want to look at the maps before you join a game you can start a Private Game of your own and roam around.

Edit: I forgot one important point which gives you a real advantage. If you have a surround sound system, you can hear walking coming along in whatever direction it's coming from. It usually gives you plenty of time to prepare yourself.

Welcome to the club! 👍

magburner has done a great post (I think it's on the previous page) regarding the use of grenades, very helpful for anyone, definitely recommended.
Tomorrow I'll post my first write-up on maps (I will cover 2 each day), might be helpful to some extent. After, I'll do a personal review on all weapons.
In the meantime, and unless you're really good from the start, I'd suggest starting with a few private matches (with somebody else or by yourself) to learn the basic layout of the maps, it'll prove to be the biggest help out there when it's 'for real', and you'll have decent stats right off the bat, instead of wondering "where the hell am I?" all the time and getting killed left and right.

There's already plenty of very useful info on this thread, you won't have to search very deep to find many useful tips.

And you're right, killing 'real' people is a beautiful thing. :D

EDIT: been getting the 'downloading game settings' screen for the past 3 hours, can't play. I'm off to bed...

Guys, add me, i am not that good and I don't play everyday. but it's always better to get my *** kicked by GTP fellows.

I have to disagree. Famine, it's best to use Juggernaut until you get more familiar with maps and other perks. Stopping power is only good if your aim is flipping terrible, but Juggernaut will keep you alive longer to learn how to react to bad situations, etc.

Also, once you get the RPD, use it for most maps if you like it. The only difference between the heavy and light guns is sprint duration and how fast you move while looking down the sights. When your gun is at the hip, running speed is the same no matter what gun you carry. So, I think think the mobility stat is negligible.

I couldnt agree with you more. I just got one of those nifty rocking chairs with the speakers built in and I used my stealth M4 class, and seriously, i heard them coming in over grown from pretty far away, tucked into a corner in a room, and just waited for them to mozey on in. The speakers in this chair are on either side of my head, so I hear everything. Plus the subwoofer is right under my ass, so I feel every little rumble. It feels like im actually getting hit with grenades. Haha.

I agree with you Omnis about the Jugger thing. It does allow you a little more room for mistakes and misjudges, but getting used to it, and then not using it, can make you the worst player in the world. Not to mention, he will probably get discouraged because he will die faster and more often without it.

And I disagree with you about the RPD not effecting your mobility. It really does make it hard to react to situations quickly. And if someone has you in their sights, theres no getting out of it. Your dead.

If someone has you in their sights, you're doomed anyway.

I meant more by way of rooms/groups/LANs to join. I'm familiar with military tactics, I just don't want to walk into a room with you lot to find you've all got "perks" (no idea what they are yet) and can shoot me to death with your minds.

As far as that, you don't have much to worry about.

The game is set up so even new players have access to a few different weapons and perks combinations, and the entire range of weapons (with only a few exceptions) are balanced (usually a more powerful weapon means more recoil thus less accuracy, or a weapon with a high rate of fire usually means it has less stopping power, things like that).
On the very start you'll be given a choice of a few different categories and you can choose one to start the match. After just a while (basic rankings go by really fast) you'll be given the chance to create you own classes with the weapons (and their attachments, which you will unlock by getting a certain number of kills/headshots with said weapon) and perks, and you'll have 5 slots that you can use to create your own classes, specific for each maps/situations.

Perks are add-ons that you can use on each class. You'll usually be given the chance to equip 3 perks on each class. Perk 1 slot is usually about grenades, RPG's, Claymores, C4, etc. Perk 2 has all the sweet ones; Juggernaut (increased health, more stopping power on your weapon, UAV Jammer, etc). And Perk 3 has the Last Stand (you get pull out your pistol just before dying and shoot it to try and kill someone before you go for good), Martyrdom (drop a live grenade when you die, anyone going over your dead body and within range will die when it blows - anti tea-bag technology), and some others as well, plenty to choose from.

As far as joining groups, you can either choose a game type to enter and it will search for it and get you there, or you can start a private match inviting people on your buddy list, or even just get invited by someone to join their party.

You're in the US, right? Since the US patch was released, and until EU gets it (it is now rumoured it will only happen in February, but will come not only for connectivity but also will include the add-ons like new killcams, improved aim for ACOG/snipers rifles, etc.), US/EU players can't play with each other, as patched versions are non-compatible with un-patched versions. If you're not in the US, and you want to, I'd be more than willing to show you the basics around the maps on a couple of private matches (they don't count for stats) so you won't get caught off guard as often as jumping right into the standard matches.

Oh, and all said on the above posts is basically true, everyone has their favourite 'stuff' to use, with time you'll find out what works best for you and usually stick with it in most of the matches.

If someone has you in their sights, you're doomed anyway.
Nope, I agree with Dead_Poetic. If you react quick enough then you're not always doomed. The RPD is slow and you are more than likely to be killed first. With assult rifles you do run quicker, and especially with Sub-machineguns/Shotguns (the P90 and MP5 in particular). You can even see the running motion is faster.

And I've always been meh about the Juggernaught. Maybe it's an Xbox 360 thing, but I've rarely noticed it on anyone and when I use it it's useless.

Beerz - I'm actually UK-based.

So... I can't shoot my colonial friends?

I meant more by way of rooms/groups/LANs to join. I'm familiar with military tactics, I just don't want to walk into a room with you lot to find you've all got "perks" (no idea what they are yet) and can shoot me to death with your minds.

When you start off you will only have access to Team Deathmatch and Free-for-all matches, so will find a lot of new players in these as well. To be honest the biggest advantage you get is not always through perks (more on that in a moment), rather just getting to know the maps. So just jump on in and get to know them, one (slightly boring - but worth in method) is to set up a private match with just yourself in it, that will give you a chance to learn the lay of the land and try out a few weapons.

Now onto a couple of things to watch out for when you do get into action, first off 'dead' people are dangerous! Two of the perks can seriously ruin your day, 'Last Stand' sees a player you have just killed pull out a pistol and have a few second to try and get a kill back (normally the person who just killed them). The other is 'Martyrdom' in which the player drops a live grenade as they die, which will often take out someone who is not aware of that perk.

Finally watch out for doorways and the top of ladders (my favourite place) for claymores, nothing better than having an opponent get to the top of a ladder only to have their face removed (but not if you are on the receiving end).

AS far as weapon go I still love the M16, which you start the game with, its frugal on ammo, accurate and has goo stopping power, you will only get iron sights to start with (for all but the sniper rifles), but once you open up the challenges and start building up kills you can open up better sights, etc.

I love the M16 with the ACOG sight, accurate enough for medium range sniping, but doesn't leave you hanging up close.

Happy hunting and see you on-line.

On the PS3 at least, (and it's my sincere opinion), the Juggernaut perk is set WAY too strong, especially when compared to the Stopping Power perk. With a weapon (+ Stopping Power) that would require 3 shots to kill anyone, it takes about 6 to 7 torso shots to kill someone with the Juggernaut, while if they have the same weapon as you are using (and of course they're not using the Stopping Power), they'll require about 4 to 5 shots on your torso to get you killed, so it's mostly unfair.

And I agree with what G.T said above about the running with different weapons, there's definitely noticeable differences.
When I'm carrying my RPD, not only the pace of the run is slower, but the distance he runs until he gets tired is shorter.
When I'm using the M4 (especially true with the MP5 or the AK-74u), the pace and the motion of the run is clearly faster, like he's more agile while carrying less weight (true to life), and he gets better distances on sprints as well.

This difference in weight is also seen while aiming (the aiming motion is faster with lighter weapons, excellent reaction times with those) and for example when you get shot in the back. It's noticeably faster to turn around (and aim after that) when you're carrying a lighter weapon, thus increasing your chances of survival.

Some people don't like the RPD that much (or any LMG for that matter), but I love it, it's easily covered about 70% of all my kills. I'm fairly good with it (if anyone disagrees speak now or forever hold his piece) and compensate some of it's flaws using certain tactics I've learned with experience.

EDIT: Famine - 1) awesome! Just say (here or via PM) whenever you want me to show you around and it's done.
2) And as far as I know, right now, no. It's just stupid, they could've released the patch simultaneously so this kind of situation wouldn't happen. I know some people that live in the UK have the US version of the game, and now can't even play online because since it's a US version, it has the patch, but because it has the patch it tries to connect to US servers and seeing as the PS3 is on EU, it's not 'allowed', so they're basically stuck until EU gets the patch too.

@BEERZ: Thanks for the 👍 on my mini-guide thingies. I'm glad people are finding them useful. If you want to add insight Beerz, go ahead! I don't know everything about the game, the guides are based purely from my experiences, you have had experiences in game, so you must have something to share. Go for it mate! you should do a map guide, as should I, and everyone else who plays here. We all like different maps, some of us like the same maps, whilst all of us may not like a certain map. Its that kind of collective understanding, that can be a big help to everyone. 👍

At the request of many hundreds members (magburner – above - is the only one that comes to mind right now :lol:) I decided to do the map write-ups, hope they’re of any use to at least one of the members here, especially the ones who just started or are about to start. They’re leaned more towards ‘Team DeathMatch’ games, but work just as fine for ‘Free-For-All’ as well.
Basically, they’re just my opinions and my experiences compiled on a small write-up, I know I definitely left some important things out and will only remember them after I post this (as usual). :rolleyes:
I’ll post these two now: Crash and Pipeline.
More tomorrow: Crossfire, Overgrown and Bloc. 👍
After that: Downpour, Countdown, Strike, District…
… and so on until I have covered them all, if there’s enough interest shown.

MAP INSIGHTS (by Beerz)

CRASH:
One of the maps most people like. It’s simple layout and small size make it a very easy to learn map, so starting from the very ‘noob’, it grows on you fast as you get results even with little experience.
It’s prone to different styles of play (team-wise); usually, teams will work as a block, moving around - attacking (or sticking around - defending) a very small area of the map, which allows for some very cool fights.
Other times, although less frequently, everyone scatters throughout the map, and for those that don’t know it that well or just have less experience dealing with that kind of situation, it’s very tricky, since despite it’s relatively small size, there are plenty of spots from where you can be shot when you’re not expecting and it doesn’t take much for an experienced team to pin down the opponents on a relatively small area where it’s hard to defend decently.
A great spot I tend to use a lot (for short periods) is the top floor of the big building behind the crashed heli. It provides great view, and if used with a couple of Claymores it’s almost perfect. Although it seems you’re very exposed (you have the feeling all your body is visible from the ground), if you do things right, it’s extremely difficult to take you down, since at ground level all they’ll see is your head-tip at a considerable distance, which means that it takes a bit to aim to take you down, while you have more time to kill them instead. Just don’t stand still for more than a few seconds
Another area I really like is the long alley running on the back of the buildings, the one with the debris and the smashed cars. They provide great cover and you can easily take out a few enemies within a short time-frame as they won’t notice you there behind a car or whatever for a small amount of time. Of course, since it’s a narrow place, kill and leave, or you’ll be dead in a while. This alley also allows you to take cover while checking the heli surroundings and provides direct access via the ladder on the wall, to the 1st floor of the ‘Wal-Mart’, from which you can easily take down an enemy camping on the roof with the sandbags.
Also, a great map for guys that really know their grenades, they’re more than helpful here.

Usual spots where people tend to camp:3rd floor of the big building (behind the crashed heli);
Windows of the blue-walled building facing the heli;
Windows of the 1st floor of the convenience store (that’s how I call it);
Roof with the sandbags next to the store (accessible only through an outside wall-mounted ladder.

Spots where you definitely don’t want to get caught camping (mainly if you’re not alone, since the biggest mistake is when entire teams crawl together in these places):
The garage (if you’re here, get out asap);
The small alley going down the stairs from the garage to the blue-walled building (you’ll be ‘naded until you pop);
The building on the map corner when you start on the underside part of the map (either ground or top floor);
The crash area, since you’re vulnerable from too many sides for comfort.

PIPELINE:
My favourite map of them all. It’s one of the biggest maps and also the one with more tricks that you’ll only learn through experience and watching more experienced players.
It’s easily one of the most complex maps (if not the most), with stuff you only find most times after playing there quite a few times. You have underground tunnels connecting some parts of the map (not often used, since you can get anywhere faster through the ground and under it your chances of finding someone to kill are pretty slim and you’ll lose valuable time walking through the tunnels).
Playing on the roof tops (without getting killed straight out) is almost an art, which I’m trying to master lately, since although you have amazing overall view of large portions of the map, you’ll appear to the enemy (if they’re experienced and also look up instead of ground level all the time) as an easy kill with virtually no cover, so you have to be really careful and always spot them and shoot first before they spot you. The most used way to go onto the roofs is the little inner division inside the big building near the train lines. In here, you’ll find a ladder (starts at your height) that you can climb to the first level, followed immediately by another smaller ladder that takes you to the top level and from there you can access all four sides at roof height. I’ve nearly stopped using this way to get up there for two reasons:
1) While you’re climbing the ladders, you’re an easy target for both ground experienced players and enemies already on the top level, and you’ve got nowhere to hide;
2) Many of the enemy players plant Claymores (trip-activated explosive mines for those less familiar with it) on top of the ladders, which kill you instantly (unless you have the Juggernaut perk :mad:), and which you only see – if well placed – a fraction of a second before you die, with no possibility of avoiding it.
So… I’ve been mainly using the other way up there, which is through the little house near the horizontal gas tank. There’s a ladder on the outer wall facing the tank, I go up that ladder, and from the small roof, I run and jump to the lowest roof of the big building. And you’re there. It’s been working great for me, since most of the times, the enemy players think they’re alone on the roofs because the Claymores haven’t ‘popped’ yet, so you can take out a few in a relatively easy way.
Another thing with this map is that, inside the big buildings, at ground level, if you’re near the darkest walls and still, you’ll become almost invisible (especially if you’re on the Spetnasz team, which wear all-black uniforms. So, take advantage of this on tight situations (alone with more that one enemy or taking time to reload an LMG for instance), and always look carefully, don’t just glance on these walls.
Strategy-wise, if you’re fighting a well organized clan and your team doesn’t “click” fast, you’re going to get wasted pretty badly. Worst case scenario is the enemy team taking all or most of the advantage spots simultaneously and you’re left with virtually no cover anywhere on the map, or getting your team pinned inside only one building, where you’ll be ‘naded, flashed and shot until you’re no more. Please, don’t let that happen. Please.
Another advice I would give is when you’re outside, stick near walls. There’s always someone watching from some high vantage point and in the open you’re way too visible, not to mention cover points will be too far away for a quick hide.
Also, although it doesn’t seem at the beginning, snipers camped on the grassy hills are relatively easy to take out if you go around them through the ‘back’ of the map, crouched and eyes wide open for any ‘bulge’ on the grass, especially near the trees. As soon as you spot them (or have a fair idea of where they are), you can take them out easily by throwing a flash grenade to that spot and waiting for him to get up to shoot him, or just follow the flash by a standard grenade, which will either kill him or make him get up for good so he’s an easy target. It’s best not to let snipers camp there for too long, since (if they’re good, and some are VERY good) they rack up many kills and keep you/your team on other parts of the map as he pleases as no one wants to have his brains splattered on some wall even before hearing the shot.

Usual spots where people tend to camp:Roof tops of the building nearest to the train lines;
Little house (and surroundings) near the horizontal gas tank facing the train lines;
Upper windows and small roof on the building near the two huge vertical gas tanks;
Upper floor of the small building with the smashed squared windows (used less frequently as time goes, since it doesn’t provide that good of a cover);
Crawling people near the wall on the northernmost part of the map, where you have sight of both narrow passages beneath the lateral roofs.
The grassy hills near where the team that starts above begins the match (mainly snipers)

Spots where you definitely don’t want to get caught camping:
Ground/upper floor of the small building with the smashed squared windows (see above why);
At ground level inside any of the biggest buildings, since both of them have at least 2 or more entries into them and you can be surprised at any time;
The large dust road in between both big buildings (not so much camping, but even crossing here can prove a real challenge on some of the matches);
Train lines and both sides of it (easy target without many places to take cover).

If anyone has any suggestions, I’ll be happy to include them, since although It’s my opinion only, not a strict guide, I may very well have forgotten a lot of stuff on this, so that’s always helpful.
Thanks for reading, guys!

@Famine: :rolleyes: All we need are more recruits fresh outta boot! Only joking pal. Welcome to the war! 👍

Because your starting out, May I suggest you use either the M16, or a better suggestion: the MP5 it has good damage, great accuracy, a great rate of fire, and friendly iron sights. Its a joy to use, and you will find it great fun. this should be your preferred weapon because I notice that new guys seem to fight the enemy a lot closer than experienced guys who tend to look a little further back. The M16 is a powerful weapon, but its not as effective up close as the MP5.

Use stopping power and not juggernaut! Simple!

Your main task is to get to level 4 as quickly as possible. Once you get there you can create a class, and you have the excellent RPD at your disposal. Its a good weapon that can see you through the whole game (I use the RPD most of the time). You are of course, free to set up 5 classes that you can tailor to you own individual taste.

As Scaff said, be on the look out for claymores. I'm noticing that there are claymores being laid down all over the shop nowadays. Some are really craftily placed (e.g. opposite side of crawl spaces, further away from door entrances) If your near the epicentre of a fire fight be on the look out for them - especially on domination!

By all means look at the radar, just don't take it for gospel. Learn to use your own mark 1 eyeball, because not all 'E' show up on the radar...

Last but not least be offensive, not defensive. Your going to die, and your going to die a lot until you get a feel for the game. Don't use your deaths as an excuse to retreat from the front-line though. Instead think of them as a rights-of-passage to becoming a better soldier - You have to know how to die, before you learn how not to. Don't be shy, just don't be foolhardy! 👍

I live in the great UK too, I'm online most nights from 7-8pm until about midnight. If you need any help or just want to rip some 'sheet' up, look for me in game. 👍

@Beerz: Are you having trouble with the invites? I struggle like hell to connect to anyone. Tried a couple of times the other night to connect to you, but it wasn't having any of it! :grumpy: Also, think I'll add the 'GTP' tag to my name. My other clan was naff, and I'm fed up of being a lone wolf now, so why not eh? I Will put more time in with the GTP crew. 👍

Awesome!
Yeah, I had a LOT of trouble yesterday with invites. Nobody could get in my matches and when I replied "YES" to the invites, it kicked me off of the online mode. Even on the invites I got while on the lobby, which were answered instantly.
I don't know what happened last night, I just couldn't get online at all. It really pissed me off, as it kept showing me the "dowloading game settings" all the time and didn't go beyond that, so I couldn't play at all.
And yeah, I feel good 'wearing' the GTP Clan Tag all the time, more than often I've heard people on theit headsets asking: "what does GTP stand for?" And usually I reply stating I'm from GTPlanet.net website, and some of them get really curious, so probably they come check it out. 👍
And I totally agree with you on the RPD, it's - as far as I'm concerned - the most versatile weapon of the game; excellent at long range if you can aim properly, and deadly at short to medium range, if you have the 'Steady Aim' perk and are fast to react on those smaller maps.

Your right Beerz! Forget what people say about it being a noob weapon, if used properly, you can be just as skilful with it. Its not the weapon, its the tactics behind using it that set you apart from the rest of the bunch. I can pick my shots just as skilfully as anyone using an M4 or a G3.

On the subject of the steady aim perk, I used to use it a lot, but not at all now. here is my reasoning:

I'm pretty much 'sights up' all the time now. I rarely fire any gun without the sights. I think that if the situation is that hairy that you have to fire from the hip, steady aim is not the perk you need, but martyrdom. I know its contentious using that as its seen as a 'free kill' perk. It is, but I'm miffed by always getting snagged by guys using it, so I use it myself now. If you can't beat 'em eh?

Getting back to the steady aim thing. Like I said if the situation is that hairy, dropping a posthumous nade is not so bad. I don't like dying, I try not to most of the time, but if I do go, I take as much, and as many as I can with me!

DIE FATHERLESS MOTHER LOVERS!!!!! :mad:

I got COD4 yesterday, I have only attepted the missions thus far, I am playing in easy mode and I am up to the one after the chyenoble (spelling?) mission. Would I be advised to complete the one player mode, before moving onto multiplayer. How many more missions are there?
