I would continue arguing but I see I have no backup. And I've realized ill never win against eSZee's now trademark always negative and somewhat anger inducing posting style. Ill just leave those stats up there, and maybe people will think "Hmm, 53,000 dollars or 59 horsepower?, DING! I can take it to my local tuner shop, get it 59 horsepower up, and have THOUSANDS to spare! 💡"

I see, so HP is king and nothing else matters?
Fine, make the camaro 485hp and then put it up against the GTR in various race situations.
Maybe I should just buy a Miata and put an LSx in it and embarrass both cars? Thousands and thousands saved.
My point was that the cars aren't comparable, apples and oranges and no one with any kind of car knowledge would go to a show room looking for one and walk out with the other.

I was thinking "when did I get in the cars forum?" Then I realized that I was still in GT5. Does this thread belong here?

Might as well get involved...I rarely ever do so might as well have fun for once...

Whoever stated that the SS is 'just a muscle car' and the GTR 'a true sports car' seems to simply be overly biased.

I've romped on both cars at an autocross and to be honest that GTR is just so boring to drive. It's just got tons of grip due to its advanced drivetrain and computer system(s)...and obviously gobs of power to go along with endless grip. To me that's not a true sports car... it's the opposite, lol.

Righty oh.. :)

Actually I said 'muscle car' and 'hardcore sports car', maybe read the post properly. I wasn't taking anything away from the Comaro, I was just stating that they are different cars with different intentions.

I love the Comaro, but it was not designed to compete against cars like the GT-R. Many people will buy the Comaro based purely on looks, while GT-R is a more focused performance car (which also happens to look great).

Both great cars but with two very different target markets

seems like chevy's advertising is working perfectly.

by the way... why you mad though?

Who cares? The GTR is one of the ugliest cars that ever came down the pike. And the Camaro is...well, a Camaro.

I got ahead of myself, CarreraGT...my mistake. Didn't realize you typed 'hardcore' instead of 'true' sports car.

Glad you still have place in your heart for the 'Comaro' :sly:

Okay, back to GT5 talk people. My apologies for contributing to the banter.

Haha, I love it when people write /End Thread. The Comaro was designed in Australia on the Holden Commodore Zeta platform, google it if you must :)

to be honest, gt5 is putting me off of Japanese cars. the game has so many of them and they are so unrealistically fast compared to European cars that im starting to think this game was just a huge piece of propaganda by the japanese automotive industry.

👍

Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way...

Lol at this thread.

Chevrolet is advertising. Get over it.

Bring back Pontiac dang it! I miss the old Camaro vs Firebird days... :(

The Camaro is a common car, the GT-R is not (in America, at least). There's no correlation.

I wouldn't even put these cars in the same category. The GT-R has closer to 500hp, and is much more advanced than the comaro in terms of engine, chassis and drivetrain.

The Comaro is a muscle car, the GT-R is a hardcore sports car

If you're going to act as if you know, atleast spell the car name correctly for once.:dunce:

Just like my sons 2006 Pontiac GTO (you can look that up too if you like). But it's marketed by an American car manufacturer in America and sold to Americans as a Chevy Camaro. Which in my opinion makes it an American car.
:)

Oh, for the love of God man! Unless that's how y'all spell it in Australia, would you please type Camaro. 👍

As for the actual topic, I've clicked that link before. It goes to Chevy's website and no where does it compare its SS to a GT-R, only to the Mustang and Challenger. But it got me to click I guess, so…

1. Not even remotely about GT5.

2. The thread title does nothing to promote healthy discussion.

3. Locked.
