Yup, owned wrong SF car. First race was a punt fest. And I didn't exactly cover myself in glory either. Missing shifts and struggling with that kink on back straight. Beware, the draft on this thing acts like a turbo when you want to brake. Got to be real early. And when you are punted it is in no hurry to reset you.

Good challenge though. It says mandatory tire requirements for hards, but allowed to start on mediums? No need to pit?

I am confused.:boggled::dunce:

Happy to see some variety in the weeklies, also I was afraid they'd only use the SF cars on Japanese circuits. Thanks PD.
However there's a bug where almost everyone will get a 20 sec penalty at the end of the race in race C.

Mandatory pit is awesome. Grid start should be on just about all Sport Mode races or side by side rolling. Race B only works for players in 3rd and lower. Divine intervention has to occur to catch the Pole sitter.

Edit:

Yup, mandatory pit for hards. Tried a no stopper, wouldn't start on hards for so.e reason? So just said heck with it and went for it. Went ugly after lots of A and A+ people crashed at start. Lots of bumping and pushing. My SR hates them. Drove well(ish) but found it didn't matter, the stop is faster than old tires anyhow. And you do get a 20 second penalty if you don't put on hards. Didn't think it was bad but at end I did better than planned and it cost me 3 spots. :irked:

Need to stop no matter what tire you are on. Especially if stoppers behind keep hitting you constantly in braking zones when you are in old. 1 guy basically abused my bumper for 5 laps. Could catch me at 1 tight section but fell behind most of resf of track. Good for a couple of rear end slams each lap.

Race could be fun but tonight it was more of a mess than I thought it would be. Can't understand why people can't make a grid start without crashing BEFORE the turn. I was contributing my own mess to the first race anyway. Time for more practice, and some other race to rest my bruised SR

SF19-Honda for Race C.

I still don't get why PD has to separate the two engines. They race together in real life. C'mon, PD...
YASSS
I've never been so glad to be wrong in my entire life..

But does PD know that Spain isn't in Japan?

Just made the black and orange hub livery for the wrong one

The fact that you cannot transfer liveries between those 2 cars is beyond me... Then again, I know next to nothing about game coding..

Not a bug. Racing hards are mandatory, when not used you get a penalty
It sure is helpful to browse around these areas of the web before jumping in a race..

Boy that makes things interesting...
Gotta figure out a strategy in my head before getting back home..

Oky, so my anxiety isn't doing me any favors..
Like is it faster to go on hards from the beginning and not pit? At which point are the medium tires slower than new sets of hards? Do you refuel or do you short shift all the way?

So many possibilities, so many options... I thought it'd be fun to come up with strategies, but I'm no longer enjoying not having the answers right away... I'll wait until I get home, then I'll plan and practice at the same time...

The end of race timer has been changed for race C, now even the people at the back who don't know what they're doing have time to finish 👍
It used be to be 50secs right?
How much time is it now?
Also, will you upload a race anytime soon?

Just popped in to say that I love the SF cars. They're so much fun to drive.

Interesting that they've introduced the mandatory tyre usage into the dailies (with absolutely no fanfare). In terms of strategy it might be possible to start with mixed compounds (mediums on the front and hards on the rear) and then pit for mediums at I guess lap 6/7.

Also, the last chicane at Catalunya is the most hateful piece of track in the game. To be fast you have to really abuse the curbs, but get it slightly wrong one way and you get a penalty, slightly wrong the other way and you're airborne.

Finally got to do some racing last night, went to the Nord first, and made a mess of it, span on both laps, and ended up last, held 99 SR though. Went off to Interlagos after that, and started at the back first time out. Had a couple of very bumpy races, and was down to 86SR thanks mainly to one driver in the first one who I couldn't seem to get away from. Third race started well, and was up from 15th to 10th on the first lap, when I suddenly had no throttle out of the last corner, as my pedals had come unplugged!! Cue a panic to plug them back in, and by the time I was going again I was in last, 10s back. Managed to catch and pass one, and another one quit when I'd got to within a couple of seconds, but ended up 14th. Still got a CRB out of it though, SR back to 90, but that's the end of a 16 race day run at 99.

Had 3 races @spa this morning. Very happy to see a variety of Gr.4 cars over there and not (almost) only the FF's. Did a .30.2 in the Jag. Mustangs and Lambo's look fast. Next car to step in to is the Vantage. Gr.4 @spa indeed looks like a good combo. Bus stop chicane is very sensitive to track limits penalty.

Inrtead of taking the Vantage, i took the Jag 4 another few laps. ...And happy as i did. I took my .30.2 to an .29.6. I do feel think that this is the car to be on this week. And...did not used the Vantage yet. What i did try'ed was the Lambo, Mustang and Veyron but they didn't get any where nere

Jumped on Spa with no qualifying to get some clean races from the back and my DR has gone down to 1 even though my SR is going up. What is going on?
If you're trundling around at the back to be safe, you will lose DR. If the people you're behind are low DR, you will lose LOTS of DR. DR gains and losses are determined by where you finish, not by how many times you pass or are passed. How much you gain or lose will depend on the relative DR of the drivers in front of and behind you on the results board.

Q just barely over 2:32 for me and it is a great combo. Lots of variety.
I'm not having any trouble with the bus stop but I'm still recalibrating my line throught Eau Rouge / Raidillon, got a track limit penalty there three times in Q and once in two races.
This track is good for my SR and DR. Two races, gained 7 SR and about 1200 DR. It's going to get more difficult through the week though as other drivers improve their Q and/or I do well enough to get matched into a higher skilled field.

the gaming the penalty system isnt even really my beef. its that i am stuck racing with scumbags in SR C and i have no control of getting out. as long as people keep tapping you or hitting you off every other race your SR just stays the same or goes down. i shouldnt have to drive around at the back for like 5+ races taking DR losses to get my sr back up because other people cant drive.

Only to get bumped around in the higher DR room & shaft your SR, putting you right back where you started.

Ugh, was in a bad mood all day Saturday. Jumped in a race at interlagos that evening and got punted on the first lap and then got Tangled in a wreck on lap 2 started by the guy that punted me..this is when I lost my mind and punted that dude into another zip code twice.

Long story short, I went from B/S to C/D in one race and I look forward to getting none of it back this week.

Moral of the story, don't race in Brazil when you are already in a bad mood. lol

All set for Spain.

This is madness! This is Spa-ta! Well my first run at Belgium was not great. I'm *really* not digging the changes to the handling. I did some qualifying with the 'vette, cause being a big nice open track, should suit the big boys. I qualified P5/16 on a mixed DR/D/C grid.

The race starts and I'm in the freaking middle of the chicane.... I'm so 🤬 sick of starting there :banghead: ! That had me off to a crap start, but I guess the guy behind was none too sharp neither. T1 was a nightmare because the braking changes are 🤬 ! Wholly, totally and completely 🤬 :banghead:.

I was struggling to get things slowed down enough to make the turn the way I had been in qualifying... and qualifying was bad enough. I finaly managed to get things together a little on the final lap, by which time I had dropped back to P8. On the previous lap I had a muppet in a C4 blocking me on the straits. The same muppet was blocking me again on the final lap. I was already on the inside side by side before Blanchmont, and slightly ahead going through. He was still trying to push, so I held my line and passed. He cam back onto the track trying to ram me off. He screwed up the chicane, which got me a 4s penalty and an SR down, the second one for the race, also from him.

I finished P8, relegated to P9.

SR down 5, DR down 2. Another day above DR 1 .
