Drift, are those levels you acquire to unlock stuff?
Cause a uniform looks really good.

BTW, if I miss a mission, and lose the game, can I still carry on, or do I have to restart the game automatically?

Yes when you die you will load from your last save. So save often and before any boss. Oh and always make sure you have good health before you save otherwise it will be difficult since the zombies always respawn outside the save points.

I know that. :p

I mean, say I miss a certain time to finish the mission, but I live. Even though there's no chance to finish the game, can I still carry on?

Yes thats exactly what I am doing just to level up. I havent done any of the missions. I just kill kill kill. :sly:
However when the 72 hour game time runs out, the game ends even if you dont go to the helipad.

So, does that mean names like Hella Copter are levels you acquire?

Cause a SWAT uniform seems pretty cool at this moment.:sly:

Wow, anyone watch the intro vid with the mother and her child? Now that's some scary stuff.

Well, put a couple hours into it...it's bad, but not in a bad gameplay.

Oh no, that's awesome, hacking the hell out of zombies. What's bad is the saving as said. This needs a tune-up, imo.

Bosses...awful. These are the easiest sons of b*tches ever so far. I just got past Isabella. There's so many ways to exploit these battles to make them easy.

Jeremy is indeed right. The game is hack and slash, over and over. The Katana is awesome though you have to travel a great deal to find it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of gun stores, so I have steal handguns from police. The Psychopaths are surprisingly an actual challenge in groups.

And worst of all. The time set-up. IMHO, this game's time frame is the most difficult part of all. You must be 100% precise if you want to succeed...oh wait, let me re-type that.
You must be 100% if you want the game to notify you succeeded. That really pissed me off. There's no timer, and that crap on the side doesn't help at all when notifying you about how much time is left.

I lost the Medicine Run, and lost all the cases the first time. I had high hopes I would succeed as I thought a message would occur saying, "It's 11PM. Brad is dead."

The game simply has a bad timeframe. The missions needed to be put into sections, not have all missions and scoops and people at once. There's just not enough time to complete anything which means you could be running through this game 5-10 times just trying to get stuff done.
It's just an awful developed time frame. The only time to kill zombies for me so far has been during the 1st night. But everything speeds up super fast. You'll have to get scoops through 1 run, and survivors through another.
They say most games can be beat in 6-7 hours minimum. This game has to be beat in under 6 hours to get the right endings.

Basically, I LIKE the game, and I like the whole mass murder the evil zombies and psychos, but during all this, the zombies are merely an obstacle during missions, obstacles you don't have time to sit and kill like you think you would.

SOOO.
If you want to kill zombies for the hell of it because that's what the game promoted and that's what you like, do it, but don't expect to beat the game.
If you want to beat everything, screw the zombies and just get as fast as you can through a challenge.
But you can barely do both.

I wanted to buy that game today.

Conclusion, sold out everywhere...

There were quite a few on the shelf at Best Buy this afternoon. I thought about buying it, but I'm thinking of it more of as a rental than a $60 purchase. I've still got GoW and F2 to think about, and they are more important, IMO.

I didnt play the game all weekend since we had Heathers nieces all weekend and I was jacking up my gamerscore by concentrating on achievements. :sly: . I ended up renting 4 other games to play that I will have until wednesday. I will probably play it again some time later this week.
Those of you that think there will be a patch for the game saves are mistaken. There is no need for a patch. The game saves in Dead rising are exactly like Grand theft auto. The more you walk around the more you will find. I think I have at least 5 save points unlocked and I know there are a lot more. Once you unlock those its easy to save.

I cant wait to play again soon and get some more achievements. Been busy.

I got this game today and so far...OMG this game is tough. I died once and hadn't saved so I basically had to start over. The second time I screwed up, I let Brad die and it said "the truth will never be found" or something like that. :( So i saved right after that and we'll see where I end up.

Dont worry about failing right away in this game. You will have to go thru it several times anyway.
My advice to you is to play a few games just leveling your guy up by taking pics and killing zombies. Your level will carry over to each game. The game will end after 72 hours no matter where you are. So just spend your first few times getting familiar with the mall and have fun . That way when you try to play the full story mode your guy will be much stronger and you will know the mall a lot better. I am at level 41 right now so pretty soon I will be ready to play the full story mode. Plus now I have a lot of moves unlocked, I can carry about 11 items, I have around 9 health bars and I am very strong. While you are leveling up try to get some achievements at the same time. And make sure you save as often as possible. 👍

Thanks. 👍 I found out that I had to start the game over after Brad died. :grumpy: This game is gonna be frustrating.

You should have just kept playing for the 72 hours to level up and get familiar with the mall. More than likely you will not beat the main story mode for a few tries. Its very hard. It will take the average person at least a week or two of real life game play to get all the achievements and at least 6-7 times playing thru the game. 👍
I still dont personally know anyone with all the achievements for this game yet.

With the game only a week, till it is out in the UK, its time for the European people to get excited.

Just make sure you take the advice I/we listed in the previous threads and you will truly enjoy this game. Its everything you could expect and more from a zombie game. 👍

You've told me lots of times through live lol, but I know I will enjoy this game. I have even took off my evening too night shift next Friday, so I have plenty of time to play both Test Drive Unlimited and Dead Rising.

Well, finally I got the time over Saints Row and Test Drive to play this game - I like it very much. :) It's my brother's, though, and he's a little peed off at me going further than him now because he kept running out of time at the boss at the end of Case 2. I guess I won't be progressing further than that until he does first. Luckily, I haven't yet had to re-start the whole game because of a naff save...

Overall, though, except for taking extra care of the savepoints, the game is very good. I can't wait to progress more...

It could have been such a fun game, one I'd drop in just to mash some zombies, but Capcom have really ruined it. Why can't they pull the stick out of their 'a' and give us a fun zombie game?

I found it fun for the first hour, haven't really touched it since. I'm just glad it was released a day early when I bought it, TDU hasn't left the disc tray since.
