Which car do you consider the fastest (the most competitive overall), for 600PP racing at Suzuka & Fuji?

I've tried to avoid duplications with multiple Skyline variants & Evos etc. Is there any car that should be added to the list?

Not sure if the NSX isn't faster. The fastest cars I've met on the track in 600PP races always were NSXes. I usually drive an Evo X, and the only car I haven't been able to keep up with yet is the NSX. It does need a person that can handle it though.

The fastest of all for me is the NSX.
But for racing, the F430 is easier to be more consistent.

And I wouldn't rule out the 350Z RS for races just yet... ;)

I find the Audi R8 glued to the road but not fastest enough i just cant get the f430 set up right!!!

Note that the question is not which car you like best or which car you can or can't drive, rather than which car you consider to be the fastest overall. :)

The nsx for me. It's the only car I have used since finding the Lion's den tuning for it. It still takes some practice to get use to, and it's still much harder to drive than the AWD or the f430, but it sure is fast.

Exactly: based on your own experience racing online, which car is the hardest to beat (assuming a first rate driver is behind the controls)?

The NSX dominates PP600. Below that and the F430, its pretty even, all the other cars in the class are not that much better than each other, even the Ferrari 512BB and Jaguar XK are in league with most if not all of the cars in the poll.

I find very easy wins in the R8 and I can run 7'00 times in 600PP pro on Suzuka which is generally enough to leave most people behind, but in order to do that it has to be a start-finish lead for me. I haven't found a F430 driver than can keep up with a decent R8 driver, but a properly sorted NSX is always cause for concern and although I've found the NSX to be just as quick as the R8 (if not slightly quicker) over a flying lap, it takes more concentration to drive and is much harder to keep on the limit for 3 laps without making a mistake.

So in my opinion, the fastest 600PP car is the Honda, but the most competitive one is the R8, simply because it's too easy to drive.

I was gonna say nobody mentioned the old Viper GTS, but nahhhh, that car's a heap of junk!

;)

No mention of the '07 Impreza :( I'm doing 7'01 races from start to finish in it...must admit though good NSX and F430 drivers are VERY hard to get past!

I haven't listed the '07 Impreza specifically. I would consider the Impreza '05 & '07 as a single "category" (perhaps unfairly?) just to keep down the number of voting options to a reasonable level.

The R8 is great around corners, but it has no ability to overtake on straights unless the other racer makes a mistake. If it had enough power, it would definitely get my vote. But since it doesn't, I voted for the F430. Blows away almost everything else on the straightaways.

This matches my experience. For free run, both R8 and F430 perform about equally, but the R8's strength is in the esses (where it's impossible to pass a good driver cleanly), while the F430 totally rocks the straights (where passes are trivial). Boost makes it easier to keep up in the curves, but doesn't help enough on the straights. For this reason, I voted for the F430.

I've tried running the NSX, but haven't found a setup where I can be competitive in it.

Funny that so many votes have come in for the NSX, as I find (in NTSC region) practically no-one running it. The most popular cars by far are the Evos, followed by R8s.

My chariot of choice is the Clio: a spunky little car with sexy, but manageable, MR characteristics & a surprising top end. It eats R8s up drafting the straights. However, I voted F430 because it has far better low-end acceleration than the Clio & similar top end.

On the old 600PP (i.e. free tune, R3 tires), the NSX destroyed. But the current 600PP (S2 tires), as mentioned by others, it's a toss up between the R8 and F430 for me.

I personally prefer the F430 as the drive is much more engaging and out-right fun for me. But the R8 is just plain easier to drive, thus getting my vote (begrudingly :p)

However, as a dark horse, the MY07 STI is up there (after multiple races with MisterWeary showing how it's done :D)

I don't race the Ferrari's or NSX's ... I normally drive the Evo GSR non tuned at PP600, but tonight I tried the Subaru STI '05 and ran a 2'17 flat in free run within a few laps :scared: Thats gotta be a contender for good overall speed and the added bonus of having some stability

Wheres the F40 option? :D

I enjoy the F430, and it definantly has the potential to win every race, but so do a few other cars like the R8. The 600pp class currently has a few potential cars that could win the race when driven correctly, makes for a good mix of competition and diversity. I'll stick to my F40 for the meantime, although the F430 is a winner, i find it to easy to drive and would rather the challenge of winning with the F40

Has anyone driven the old and new Imprezas to offer an opinion on which is stronger/weaker in certain areas? I drive the new shape in the 600pp races a lot of the time, but have not really tried the old shape to see if it's any faster in certain areas. Same with the Evo, I guess once I got used to the Subaru, I learnt to drive that really fast instead of chopping and changing.

I think the 05 RA is better than the 07, It feels a bit freer and im able to toss it around more, I won like 3-4 in a row today with it. Its def the ticket for me in 600 I like the viper as well but its no where nears as fast. Its just as fun to drive though.

Voted for the R8 as it corners like a dream. But I have been using the F40 and have been having a blast.:sly:

This poll shows the pp system doesn't work quite right

In practice the differences between 600pp cars can be as much as 7 seconds.

It's only because of the rubber band boost that the R8, F430, EVOs, NSX, and Subarus don't rocket off in the distance compared to other cars
