Having a hard time beating this race with skid recovery on. I'm running 1:17s.
What kind of lap times should I be running to win? And where would be a good spot to pick up the pace? It's tight all over. Thanks in advance.

I won 1st time, just go hard. REAL HARD

Use every inch of the track possible. Monaco is the kind of track with turns where if you go that one bit close to the wall you'll gain tenths.

If your doing the championship in A-spec, lap times are meaningless because the boosting is very high. As long as your keeping decent pace, you should be able to get ahead. Even if you spin out and fall behind, don't worry, the boosting will help you get back to front.

After the finish line going up the hill you can hold it full pedal right up until you crest the top. I made a lot of passes there. Also slightly shortcutting the chicane after the tunnel will gain you some places. It is probably the best single race in the entire game. Have fun with it!

I don't know about with the Formula GT, but the lap record (race laps, not counting qualifying laps) for a Formula One car in the real world (current configuration) is 1:14.439 set by Michael Schumacher in 2004. I've noticed that the FGT has at least 200 more horsepower, so I'd imagine it would be a bit faster, but then again the 2004 lap time was set using the old V10 engine. The fastest race lap set in 2010 was Sebastian Vettel's 1:15.192, but again they had something like 20+ percent less horsepower than the FGT.

What tires are you using? I believe you can make it through the whole race on Racing Soft tires.

Racing softs will last FOREVER.

The last sector, from beyond the backstretch chicane, is often neglected by many. The first turn after the chicane is quite a lot faster than you think, the LR-RL jog after that can be taken at the top of third gear, and the ending hairpin sequence required precision. Fear not - 17 or so laps and you will eventually be at ease with the Monaco track forever.

If you're not concerned with "cheating" and just want to get the FGT races out of the way as easily/quickly as possible, you can just completely cut the 2nd chicane. Seems to take a bit of braking on the straight so you don't overshoot the exit, but you can just turn offa the straight and drive across the grass and continue directly on. :)

There's an even better one the race before at the Nurburgring GP track. The AI boost is kicking in giving them a buncha extra speed to try and catch up, but they don't cheat the chicane so EVERY lap leads to almost all of them losing it there. So fun to watch the guy closest to you in the points go spinning down the track outta the chicane. :) Especially when you've just cut it at full speed.

I can't stand driving the F1 cars in this game, so I was dreading this series, particularly with Cote d'Azure in the middle there. Luckily I was able to outright cheat to a win in races 4 & 5 and then race 6 was in the rain. The idiot AI pulled in and changed tires at the end of the first lap (to intermediates? I have no idea.). I stayed on full rains and ended up winning by 1:45.
