Really fun race. Qualified P6, nearly made it to P2 by turn 1 because a couple of guys were caught out by the false start. First stint was a bit boring due to fuel saving (Please PD make the tanks 20L and have the fuel multiplier 1x). Made a load of little mistakes in the 2nd stint which cost me a possible P2, but the last couple of laps I had an awesome battle with @Tidgney. We must have been side by side 4 times on the final lap.

Also can we please either get a rear view mirror on all views or at least able to see the radar and fuel as the same time

Polyphony should make at least 3 or 4 videos to show online players how to attack-defend, when to attack-defend and racing lines before enters the sport mode.

They won't care and still dive-bombing but...
I think they should add a sort of driving theory test (as well as a couple more videos) to make sure everyone has a basic understanding of racecraft.

Ye I can't believe I got a penalty for that either!
I was genuinely amazed you weren't getting more penalties.

Aside from the fact that you were 8mph faster around all of the long corners and Yamagiwa's infamous bottom-wiggle (right-left-right at the bottom of the hill) - all of which has to be down to the Megane, obviously  - if I came close to any of your lines I got a penalty. In qualifying I got a penalty of five seconds on the last, fast, downhill S-bends despite never exceeding the blue tarmac - didn't even touch a kerb, five second penalty.

The track limits at Yamagiwa in FIA mode are... insane. Two wheels on the bottom-wiggle kerb, 0.8s penalty. Two wheels on the final right-hander kerb, 0.5s penalty. Two wheels on either kerb at the first chicane, 4s penalty. In the end I chose to drive a bit conservatively and hope that the huge lap time loss (my best was 1'45.6) would even out with other people's penalties. In fact, despite the significantly worse tyre wear of the Atenza (or rather the significantly better tyre wear of the Megane - you pitted after seven laps with two-lap old tyres; I should have two-stopped), I did manage to gain six places in the end, but 13th sucks.

Was a brilliant battle at the end :D! Example of how clean good racing should be :D!

haha :D! I was so scared in the esses down hill, 1 fast lap I did in practice mode got me 8 seconds so I was like heck no I'm not going over aggressive. I think they need to test these penalties before they release updates because Yamagiwa II is in a bit of a mess on that front! Don't get me wrong I like strict penalties but I prefer consistency over how strict something is because then at least I can understand where I can and can't go rather than guessing on each corner! It is a shame the megane trophy exists still, although Atho won in the 4c amazingly!

At least you had a positive outcome in the race, that's the 2nd best outcome to a win :D!

Practicing for the Manu race went well for me since the Aston really shines on power tracks. It's also rare I get to mingle with the aliens so I was feeling pretty good about this race. I qual'd 6th and could've had a better time if I managed the session better, but it is what it is. The race was super fun though. There was some nice, if brief, racing with Windfire, Kangreti and Timlour in the first stint (obviously I don't have the race pace to keep up). The rubber/astroturf on the exit of the final turn really killed me though. Had an almost oops moment with Kangreti because I was too focused on hitting my brake point and didn't see him sneak under me after the back straight. FT_Ant made an awesome charge through the field from last which caught my attention after the pitstop, then I predictably cracked under his pressure and he drove away into the horizon. So I started and finished 6th. That was a really satisfying day for me, especially since it was penalty-free. :)

Honestly, thanks PD for this bug...

I've had this happen to me in a Test Season once. The sad part is that I was leading so I had no idea at all what lap I'm in and I had no reference car to look at
I pitted a lap late after seeing P2 pit and got stuck 'till the end as well ; w ;

I think I know what caused it though at least for me. I messed up my second flying lap so I just went back to the pits and hit pause the last moment before I enter to go back to the lobby. Ya know, realism. Then I went to the race and that's what happened

Yep i did the same and i think this was the trigger as well

You can see from the @Dezcom and @Windfire1010 replays the ridiculous lobby I was matched with for Manufacturers.

Seeded 18th and ran a literally almost perfect race. Qualified 12th and held onto the back of the alien pack for the entire time, as high as 8th at one point, and ended up 11th for 1100 something points. If I was matched with my normal group I’d have been top 3-5 for sure and gotten at least 400 more points. The Subaru was perfect for that track. The lack of top speed was nice because it meant I didn’t have to pull over to let the aliens by. I could just let them slipstream and sail by without losing any time.

I’m having terrible luck with matching in Manufacturers so far.

I don’t understand though why I’m in the minority when it comes to showing courtesy to faster cars/players?

Something which would help the problem of time slots making such a large difference in points relative to performance, would be to lift the 75K DR cap, then harder lobbies will actually gain more points and be more in line with lower ability lobbies.
As someone who has been at 75K Dr since January I would love to have the cap removed.

pretty decent evening for me in both races

did the Manufacturers race first but haven't done anything round St. Croix since the day it came out and I hated the C variant. B is much better, was still getting to grips with it during the actual race though.

somehow qualified 3rd and was up to 2nd off the line before a couple of mistakes on L2 cost me some places and the rest of the race was battling it out while everyone made mistakes, got penalties etc. as i'm guessing everyone else was as unfamiliar with the track as I was! ended up finishing 8th which I reckon was a few places down on what I could have got, but i'd have taken 8th beforehand on a track i had no knowledge of whatsoever. 434 points, not too shabby.

the Megane Nations Cup went pretty well too - don't really like Yamagiwa II because of the chicane halfway round and the crazy track limits used on the FIA race, but qualified 2nd and stayed there for the entire race apart from the pit stop phase. netted me 665 points, so up to 1199 points in total - my target of top 100 in the UK looking achievable so far!

Tracks limits on FIA races are way too strict. 10 seconds penalty today at Manufacturer's for touching 1 cm of the grass twice cost me precious positions and a bit of concentration. Can't understand PD's decisions. If they want to punish us for not having the precision of a machine, make such penalties a fraction of a second, but not 5 secs.

Apart from that, had a fun and clean race with excellent drivers.
practice more, drive better

practice more, drive better

I disagree. The penalties were waaay to harsh for cuts that didn't gain any time, they probably lost us time and got a 5sec penalty.

This implied that we weren't pushing as much as we could on the races, racing in Yamagiwa was really tense, even leading by over 6 secs. While at St. Croix even in a lot of traffic I felt way more relaxed.

That was more of an ok race for me. I had a great start, but the corner at the bridge's end is what killed me at the beginning. You would've seen me sliding into that corner on the first lap, and I did it again on the second lap trying to follow you. Being in slipstream caused me to overspeed into the corner despite hitting my usual braking point, and the Honda's turn-in oversteer really punishes me for overspeeding. I lost the draft to you Windfire, and Kangreti due to those mistakes, which really hurt my race.

I hurt my race even more when I managed to cut the last corner on Lap 2 by turning in too early, getting a 4-second penalty. At Turn 3 on Lap 5, I tried to get rid of my penalty by moving quickly to the left on exit and slowing down. Encvell was behind me and they followed me when I moved to the left, and I unintentionally checked them up when I slowed down. Fortnately, neither of us got a penalty for that.

Second stint went a lot smoother. I passed Encvell in the pits but I had to save fuel and race them at the same time. They got a penalty by overshooting the apex on the penultimate turn and I let them go knowing I would get by them again at the end. Should've been 9th but I lucked out with cKemc_PUR crashing at the bridge exit on Lap 6 (wonder how that happened) and FT_Ant having a boatload of penalties and I ended up finishing just behind you in 7th.

EDIT: Just watched Dezcom's replay and saw that I cut the last corner on Lap 2, not Lap 3. Also, I realized I never turned my traction control off after Turn 1 like I usually do. :dunce:

He let me go past on the bridge then started looking in his mirror for Ant and missed his brake point.

I didn't have much better luck. I qualified 7th, and on race start my teammate got a false start penalty. When I tried to go around him, I was slammed into and spun on the grid which made me fall back to 20th place going into the first corner. I thankfully managed to work my way back up into 8th by the end of the race. The Subaru did feel really great on that track though, and I feel like I easily could have been top 3 had I not been crashed then given 5 seconds on penalty for being brake checked.

I was actually hoping that PD was going to put track limits at Dragon Trail's bus stop so that it's not a lottery every time through there.

Of course not! But there are just about everywhere else. Cut the first part of the first corner, penalty. Cut even a tiny bit of the kink to avoid understeering off? Penalty. Try to use some of the curbs at the S? Penalty. Go in too deep on the slow right at the end of the downhill straight? Penalty. It sounds bad although it's more of a nuisance for those stuck with an understeering car that needs every inch of tarmac *cough* Jaguar *cough*. Otherwise, it's workable compared to Kyoto.

The kart at Tsukuba is... somewhat drivable. I wish I could change the degree of rotation but I think I can actually do this race. Going to need practice racing with others, though. It takes every bit of concentration just to keep my inputs steady. Quite rewarding when it comes together, though.

Oh, and watch out for the bump entering the last corner. You either have to hit it the right way or downshift to 5th and lose time.

Highlights from nations Cup last night. Didn't qualify as I had a phone call as soon as matchmaking started. Not my best race; pace wise or driving standards wise but in the end P12
