Is anyone looking into Hyundai for next season? I've been playing around with the idea of using them. They seem to be easy to drive and good on fuel and tires. Just looking for some input from you guys who know WAY more than I do, and are way faster than I am.

I thought the invite emails were sent 15th september, but I read it from someone here and am not waiting for one.

I used Hyundai, basically they both are okay. I prefer the GR3 to the 4. But they don’t really excel but equally not terrible at any track from my experience. Both good all round cars. I don’t find the GR4 great on fuel and okay ish on tyres.

They are a fairly safe choice though, both have good traction and handle reasonably well.

As an example I set a 1.31.6 practice TT at Interlagos with the GR3.

That's kinda what I thought. They seem to do well everywhere but excel nowhere. Thanks for your input

hahaha :D! But the problem is, is it locked for 2019? Has anyone confirmed whether it's just 1 season or not?

I'm also not touching nations if it's tunes.... was looking forward to the mini race until I saw tunes..

I don't know, by default I assume this is per season only, but that doesn't matter much to me as I've already signed up in a heartbeat, because I like to suffer :D

Also, tunes in nations, I'd try it if that was not that time consuming. They should really space the schedule a bit more...

How do I register for Dr.S ? I saw some drivers already are Dr.S after the final Season, so I was curious how they registered. I know I have to be Top10 in Manufacturers or Top200 overall for example and should get a notification ingame, but I still didn’t get any.

I was wondering the same thing. Pretty sure I've met the criteria, so I'm expecting a notification soon....unless they aren't doing it for this final season? Not sure, but I was looking forward to the S/S as my kind of reward for actually putting forth some effort this season.

Heavy damage=on AND tuning=allowed?

This is getting more and more interesting. I wonder if the tuning is limited to the first race in Nations or in all races from now on. If they also activate choosing tires then the mentioned time consuming would be perfect :)

Also, I didn’t get a notification in-game, but I was poking around online and tried to register there. It says I’m not eligible, which is confusing.

Do you have to be in the top 10 of your manufacturer worldwide or just in your region? Same question for the top 200 requirement, is that worldwide or just your region? If it’s worldwide, that would explain why I’m not eligible, but if it’s by region I should be S/S three times over.

When did you achieve the star player requirements? Never was it explicitly stated in the rules that you can earn a star player ranking in the final season

Makes sense as well since S/S is pretty much useless now that there's no Top 24 Superstars going on

I was wondering that too. I hadn't seen anywhere or anyone mention anything about the final season. The website just lists the requirements, and then says your "S" rating will only be displayed during the season immediately following the season in which you achieved the rating. I only met the requirements on this last one, as it was the only season I put in the time and effort to complete enough rounds. However, @PirovacBoy said he had already seen some players with new "S" ratings. It's possible he was mistaken, or that we are both getting screwed.

Hey Winnie, I don’t know if they are new S drivers I only saw that there are some. Obviously their Dr Status seems to just have been carried over.
Pity as my experience and overall lots of what you mentioned throughout the Season crossed my experiences and I always got the feeling we sat in the same kind of boat when reading your posts.
Well we are Geezers so no problem if we don’t get the S Rank. We have nothing to prove to others. We know who we are, and what we have achieved

ahh, yes that makes sense that they carried over if they aren't going to assign new S-rankings. oh well.

I feel the same. I only wanted the S-rank as sort of a personal trophy, just to say to myself that I could. Same with A+. I thought that neither of those credentials were within my reach as an old guy new to racing sims....but I guess I got a little bit good as they say? haha.

Anyway, it's all about the racing and not the accolades.

I appreciate your posts as well, and hopefully we can race together someday.

Tagging @schnick

I'd like to expand on this for you guys, because I have experience with the invites being sent out from Nurburgring, as well as the fact I've read into this heavily due to me being the top non-qualifier in EMEA Nations due to the Country Cap.

So... how it works is this, They'll send the invite for the finals to more people than have actually qualified, So in Australia the Top 15 or so will probably get the invite, if anyone says they can't make it prior to being sent the tickets who is in the Top 10 in Australia, that spot will then go to Australia 11th, Australia 12th and so on until they have 10 Australian drivers.

HOWEVER, if someone says they can't make it AFTER the tickets have been sent out, any empty spots they need to fill then ignore the country cap and are quite simply highest driver first, regardless of countries.

The highest ranked player in the region who can't attend due to the country cap (literally me in EMEA) is invited and sent tickets irrespective as the "backup participant" in case someone can't make it after the tickets were sent, or last minute. This has been true for both Nurburging and Salzburg (Ewerby at Nurburgring, Aderrrm at Salzburg for EMEA, but Asia and Americas also have a backup participant going to Salzburg too)

Hope that clears everything up
Thanks heaps, I knew I read that somewhere but may have assumed "backups" and "reserves" are the same thing

As a side note, I just noticed on the T24SS "broadcasts" that they get 15 minutes for qualifying, what a luxury I'm so jealous!

Seems like tuning is only "open" in the first race at Tsukuba in the Mini, all other Nations races are "fixed" settings.

I'm sure it's an "experiment", though, like a lot of other things this season, and if it's popular it might stick around...

Yeah, guess you're right. Will be good news for the many tuners out there, but would be bad for me as even though I'm keen on tuning, my time available for practicing is limited, so no time left for tune>test>tune process.

So is over now, I really enjoyed this championship.

However, there should be finals for S,A+,A,B,C and D

I'm a D driver, I race clean and I was unbeaten in my category (pole, fastest lap, victory). I mean is fun but you have to give the base players something to win, otherwise there is no motivation. Sooner or later one always finds his level in these kind of games, why not to allow D players to compete for something?

Finished NZ #1 but a bit hollow as was looking forward to fighting LionFace for it and he got booted.

Race itself was a bit of a "could have been" - ballsed up qualifying and started 16th. Shoulda started about 5th and woulda given it a good shake if i'd started there.

Goal was always to just make the finals - everything from here is a bonus. Could come dead last by a mile and still be stoked with how it's gone.

Also - hope the Asian finals aren't first weekend in October, that's the Bathurst 1000 weekend!!

Mate, you are 11th overall for Asia/Oceania, I'm sure you'll do fine
I on the other hand relied on being good at 2nd split races and the country cap/eligibility rules to scrape in (if we interpret the wording right)
But I agree, everything from here is a bonus
Speaking of bonuses... anytime I hear the word it reminds me of this

That final ranking depended so much on your final race result it was almost irrelevant in my opinion. Having said that I spent most of the season somewhere between there and 15th.

Won't work. You'll get normally high DR egomaniacs degrading their own DR so they can win something in a lower class, one they don't belong in.

Add player division , that they can't change for the whole season. Imagine there are 10 player divisions assigned to each player based on their current DR at the end of the season.
