Add player division , that they can't change for the whole season. Imagine there are 10 player divisions assigned to each player based on their current DR at the end of the season.

The Season in the lower divisions would still be ruined by someone starting in a division they absolutely don't belong in, intentionally or not

I've always hated the idea of divisions, the top guy in Division 2 is also the worst guy in Division 1, it just ends up being blind luck where the divisions are split whether you end up winning your division because you were too strong for it, or end up being the worst guy in your division, when if you were just a few DR lower you could've been a champion.

It would give negligible benefit and would just cause massive sandbagging and DR manipulation across the board, as well as the fact that GT Sports point system flat out isn't designed with something like that in mind.

Won't work. You'll get normally high DR egomaniacs degrading their own DR so they can win something in a lower class, one they don't belong in.
there are ways, but would require someone to actually care and program an algorithm that considers DR over time to catalogue players. And we know that PD is not very good at algorithms, are they?

The Division tanking is rampant in iRacing Oval series, but seems okay on Road Series.

If there are no Division, then there is no incentive a guy like me ( iR1800ish ) to compete in a series competed by 8000 members. But this division idea will be too complex for PD to introduce. Like you said, players in GTS will likely to abuse the system rather than enjoy it.

Could a Multiclass championship work?3 Categories(Top Players,B and C) racing on the same track but with different car classes,Top players with Gr1,B racers with Gr 3 and C racers with Gr4...........it could work that way.C would be the entry level for championships.

Having Gr1 and Gr4 share a track is annoying enough when it's all A+ drivers, putting low DR drivers in which just be carnage. The skill difference is simply way too big to be safe or enjoyable for anyone.

Yeah i understand.I also don't like the idea for D level players going to championships, they lack skill(i know that sounds elitist as hell but it is the truth).

The FIA Championships would get a lot more spectator interest in general if it was something like elimination style, Imagine if Season 1 this year narrowed it down to the Top 1000 per region or so to enter Season 2, Season 2 down to the Top 200, then in the Final Season only have a couple timesplits a round with the final 200 per region battling for the Live Event spots.

Would generate more interest in the drivers who are 'still in' and would have made Season 1 and 2 actually meaningful.

That's a great idea and i hope PD takes alot of feedback from players at the Live Events,i can forgive the 2018 season for being messy because it's the first time they're doing it but they have to knock 2019 season out of the park and elimination would be a big improovement.

Less timeslots would also help equalise the lobbies, as even in EMEA the last Nations timeslot was weak, and for some weird reason so was Timeslot 3 for Manufacturers. Instead of racing for a couple of hundred points at best for the final Season people can take the opportunity to watch the best guys race, and less timeslots to cover makes it more viable to broadcast every round.

That, and it would also make an interesting challenge to the players trying to make it to later seasons, other than only the highest drivers...

Hey guys, please tell me one thing about the tyres in manufacturer race, if you know : there are two types, RH and RM there. Can I choose with what tyres I start the race ?
I think we will go to pitstop in qualifying session and select medium for the last part of the qualifying session and the sessions will probably end for us with medium tyres on, but with what tyres the race will start then?
I would like to be able to choose hard for the first part of the race, but the race session will let me do it before the start ?
I wasn't before in a FIA race with two types of tyres.

If this was a one off couple day championship or something then yeah, would be an interesting watch. But to knock out 95% or more the players for two whole seasons so they can ‘watch’, no thanks.

Most people have interests in life and they dream of participating in these. Most motorsport is completely inaccessible to most, I wouldn’t want a game to join that.

I enjoy watching the top compete but only because then I get to have a go myself, not everyone is going to succeed but at least we can try!

One possible solution, and something I think would benefit the ranking system in general, would be making the downgrade of driver rating a slow process or even locking it to a limit at a certain level, so people can't return to B once they're A and so on. The current system creates distortions in the skill level of drivers and also discourage participation in casual daily races because of the fear of losing DR.

I think the current system of building up victories and DR is right. It reflects your skill level precisely when you have to defeat good drivers to make progress. But it's not right that you can lose DR so quickly. Naturally, skill and experience should be going up and not down, so I'm much better today as an A driver, after performing badly at FIA Manufacturer's due to my non-competitive Evo, than two months ago when I was A+. Another interesting adjustment would be creating a cap to limit the amount of DR you can gain from a single event, to avoid one person racing all day and dominating an event after setting a good qualy lap.

So divisions or rewards for every skill level is a great idea, imo. They just need to adjust the DR system.

And of course, you can always cheat and create a new account to play with D level, but that would require a bit of work and might not happen so often.

Its a difficult one but the idea of a Classic Formula Ford style event of heats then a top 24 Final at 10 pm would be amazing. Does anyone think the Top 24 Final race should be at least a 1hr race?

On this weeks Manufacture race can I qualify on medium tyres but start the races on hard tyres ?

Here is a fast tune for Nations Event for who don't have time to spend on settings. Jump in and drive like you stole it people say....:scared:.
Enjoy your drive.

I was using your Megane tune on the Mini, got to 1:15.4, hopefully with this I can get into the 14s.

Edit: got to 1:14.867, should be able to do a bit better.

Gonna share my season results, even though I'm just an average DS4-using filthy non-pro :O

I missed two rounds entirely due to RL stuff, but still managed to do ok (for my skill level that is) - at least in Manufacturer's.
Nations seems to be cursed for me since about two seasons, my results there are extremely inconsistent!
In general you could say that both this fact and my still sometimes returning weakness in quali (occasionally seconds behind my best free practice time...) are what bug me the most about my performances.

BUT I still had great fun and as an added bonus did manage to climb that podium's top step with a "non-meta" GR.3 car in Manufacturer's 👍

Now to decide on a manufacturer for the off-season. Am torn between giving Mercedes another shot after the recent round of BOP and trying another underdog (McLaren maybe?).

Was discussing this with a friend during the first two rounds and we both concluded that it's kind of a miracle they didn't do this from the start. Would have been the logical go-to system :odd:

Perhaps a middle ground could be reached. Let those who fail to make the cut for the final championship rounds compete in a consolation cup. Offer in-game credit/car rewards for race wins/overall position to give these players something to still play for, whilst still making the first half of the championship cycle meaningful.

Anybody ?...

It's now confirmed in-game that the "ID 2019" refers only to the 2019 Exhibition series and is not applicable to any other 2019 series . The reference to ID 2019 is an in-game display issue and will be corrected with the next update.

Yay!!! I wouldn't have to put up with Lambo for a while year :lol::lol:

Always been a Lamborghini fan so I've raced with Lamborghini in the Final Season, but struggled with the Gr.4 Huracan's tyres being AWD. With La Sarthe being the only Gr.4 race where tyre multiplyer is in double figures [x16] with the rest quite low in Season 1, I might have better hopes for it now. 💡
