Acknowledging that these fia exhibition seasons are experiments and that PD are trying out different race format solutions, here are some of my thoughts on the current season format, that now allows multiple entries to the same event, whereas before, only 1 attempt per event was allowed:
- If you have the time for multiple attempts at fia races, then you will support the change allowing it, if you do not have the time, there is nothing good about it.
- It is not a level playing field, if 1 driver is doing the only race time slot that they can fit into their real life, but they are competing with someone on their e.g. 3rd attempt, who already has decent points scored for the race and can therefore increase massively their risk appetite for divebombs and 50/50 moves. They can also try alternate tyre strategies out.
This is not motorsport. In real life motorsport, the driver has to deliver the performance there and then, on the day. There are no second chances. If there were, the results would be different, as those who cannot perform at their best immediately get up to 5 chances to run the same race!
