Edited this post because I managed to salvage some decent points on the 3rd attempt of this round of Nations Cup.

Maybe PD should consider providing the car when the value is more than several million credits in future.

The top split for this round (across all 3 timeslots) only yielded maximum 1600 points for the winner. This score will probably be dropped by the best in the region because there just weren't enough on offer. Going to safely assume that is largely because not too many people could afford the car, so matchmaking suffered as a result.

Only participated in the Manufacturers race, was about 3mil short off the Aston DB3S for Nations.

To sum it all up: Qualified 2nd (+0.5xx seconds off pole), got divebombed on first lap by an Audi and hit the wall about a lap or so later because of a poor exit from a Ferrari who lost control before the bridge, the rest of the race was a close match between all three podium cars before first place broke away. Could've secured second but tire wear is a cruel mistress to the Audi TT. Still a good race all around, though. Now back to swinging around New York...

Just did both races with average results. What I've noticed recently is that it's becoming a lot harder to keep up with the usual drivers that I race against. I use a controller.

Had a look at the Nation's replay, and I found out that my tyre wear was shredding down far more than anyone else on the entire grid, except for one other controller player.

I'm not sure if that's a recent implementation that PD have put in or my driving skills on a pad have finally hit a place where I'm struggling to improve. Either way, I think this means I'm gonna start learning to use a wheel now lol.

I saw SupetGT's video about the tire wear difference between controller and wheel and it was the first time I'd heard of it.

Last night when I was practicing with tire wear for tonights Manu race I did 9 laps with my DS4 and 9 laps with my wheel. Seemed about the same to me, if anything the wheel used up more tire than I did with my DS4. The thing is though I am driving the Scirocco, so maybe there isn't much difference for FF cars as oppose to MR or FR. That thing shreds those front tires after 5 laps, and the rear tire have the tiniest sliver of red.

Came here to complain, and left with a lot of info. Thanks for opening my eyes to some great ideas.

But I still think PD would have been wiser gifting the car and making lots of people happy. I'll look at the numbers after the racing to see if there was any drop due to the high cost of the Aston Martin.

Anyone knows a reason why DB3S can't be purchased from PSS, Z8 can be which was added with same update as DB3S.

Not cool to only allow richest peeps to race (those who have 10M+ laying in wallet)
You can only buy cars with real world money up to 2 mil. in game credits

Hi everyone, this is a quick guide to tonight's race. Hope it helps :)

Nice track guide, although as I live in Asia I've already completed my attempts in the manufacturers race. i grew up near Coventry so had to pick Jaguar. However, the tyre wear is so bad I did a two stop race and finished 2nd in my very low split lobby. The Mclaren that won was less fuel efficient, but far better on tyres.

Interesting, and I thought making a one-make 10mil car was all a scheme by PD to get people to purchase from the Store instead of using all their in game credits. Seems like an ass backwards business plan to me lol but you gotta respect PD for protecting their customers instead of using them as milking cows.

Well I am confident going into nations race with the Mustang tonight, it's good to see someone else with the Mustang on the boards
for the next race as that gives me even more over confidence in myself than I'm feeling today.

Hopefully it will be a good race in a couple of hours time, I only have one shot tonight so failure is not an option.,..

It does seem a little ass backwards, but it really is in the interest of the customer since you can't spend some huge amount of real money for a car in game. I don't mind a MC like this as I will never really be in a position to where I can't afford a car with in game credits.

I'm actually quite enjoying driving the Aston. Probably because it's on racing tyres and I'm sure when I get rekt in the race I'll change my mind but, er, oh well.

How can you tell who's got a wheel? I can only guess based on smoothness of inputs.

If one gets disconnected before warmup does it count as taking part in the race?
I.e. will my previous points be replaced by big fat 0 points?

EU account .
As expected a wonderfull Nation race with this awsome car , it deserves the 10.000.000 cr$ for sure . A clean disputed race.
I was disconnected from Manufacturer , anyway i'm not very comfortable at St Croix , i almost never drive there and it need a lot of practice to maintain a fast path.

Only had 1 race in the Manufacturers tonight, so was a little bit mistake prone. Did the quali and was going ok, but I didn't push hard enough on the out lap and ended up running out of time before my 2nd flying lap, so ended up in 9th. Race didn't start to well as the guy behind me hit me in the 1st corner, and then when I braked to avoid hitting the wall he decided I needed to be put in the wall. Dropped down to 13th after that as a few people got past.

Race went ok. Pitted on lap 4 and managed to pick up a few places with overtakes and other people having issues. Ended up on lap 7 just behind the guy who had hit me on the 1st lap and was really tempted, but managed to resist. He ended up having a fight with guy ahead and I managed to pick my way through to 7th, but picked up a 2 second penalty when I squeezed somebody at the entrance to the bridge (sorry mate, just didn't see you). Served my penalty and dropped down to 9th for a solid race.

Is there a way I can get more info on the future FIA races? Like required tires, fuel/tire depletion rate, and so on? I wanna learn more about the Nations Cup race at Interlagos with N400 cars. I'd imagine the most popular cars would be a blend of the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept, the KTM X-Bow R, and the Ferrari F50, if the N300 race at Dragon Trail Seaside indicated anything.

Either via the granturismo website or the GTS Companion app on mobile.

So Nations this round in EMEA was quite surprinsing. 2k7 top split ! Won just short of 2k6 for 2nd, behind Augh...

But he decided to race again, and points slowly dropped slot after slot, 2k4 in the 2nd to 1k9 in the last one

The combo itself was a lot of fun, but some people really got dirty, so I didn't want to be involved in more races after that one. A guy literally pit manoeuvered 2 cars on purpose in the last lap !
