Apologies if this has been answered before, but why was the Top 24 race reduced down to 16 competitors?

I have taken part in Top 24 races before, but didn't notice any obvious reasons why the grid size would need to be reduced by 8 cars.

Ugh my worst outing at any FIA race to date, I couldn’t get the tire strategy to work, for some reason i couldn’t get a decent qualifying lap, I saw @PerformLAB1 in the first race, I think he got lag punted, spun out and then I got tapped in the bumper for a sweet 4 second penalty. Best result of 8th, couldn’t even get enough points to knock out my lowest score. I’m officially over brands hatch.

Seriously, I cannot get any breaks at all. Alfa drove so bad on my banker and it decided to be super snappy at Casio, ruining my other lap. Gained a spot early but got stuck behind someone who I found out afterwards was on hards. Frustrating that I couldn't get around and when I tried something different, I naturally clipped the grass and lost a lot of time. Without that happening, I might've actually won since everyone accordioned together on the last lap and it was four wide at Casio. 5th was not the result I wanted and not even 1,500 points for the effort was an absolute joke. I really wanted to be in the first room where I could've just not crashed and gained 2,000+ or any other slot to drop off my low score. Oh, and I also cannot stand the Alfa 4C. Strangely okay at Willow but otherwise has no clue whether it wants to understeer bad or twitch around at every corner.

Good news is that I put Subie on the podium for Manufacturer's. I finally ran a nice banker lap and I'm glad I did. On my faster flier, my clear track ahead of me suddenly became filled with traffic and I got dirty air at Surtees. Naturally, I understeered bad and given how the rest of the lap went, that should've been pole. Doubtful I would've won anyways but an extra few points was beneficial. Unfortunately, I looked at the final two races before Superstars and not only are they Group 4, they are both terrible tracks for the WRX. I think I've scored all I can for Manufacturer's and given how less slots means higher points overall, I think this is going to knock me out of Superstars.

Yesterday was not a fun evening. It was an evening of poor qualifying laps, corner cut penalties, and rallycross racing lines. Thank god I actually put something together in my last attempt.

Okay here I am with the results from Round 7!

It was a difficult night, I have a cold just now and my ability to concentrate was tested to the extreme's yesterday as a result.

Manufacturer's Race:



Hopefully I've linked these correctly but Manufacturer's at Brands Hatch started positive, I had a good qualifying session and managed to start 3rd off the grid and my first FIA race in DR C for some time.

The first lap was relatively free from trouble but I was on hard tires so when it came to the end of the straight and the final corner I drifted over to
the left too far and wheel on the grass so round my car went and right down the order incurring several orange SR warning's in the process but
thankfully no penalty.

I managed to keep going and I carried on with the hard compound for 8 laps but I could feel I was on the verge of another spin so decided to
switch to medium's, returned to the track and I carried on to eventually recover to a 6th place finish but it was tough going as had I gone with
my original result I came 9th on worn out medium/medium.

Nations Cup:



Chaos is the best way to describe this race at Suzuka, the start was awful, I incurred two laps of 3 second penalties and then decided to throw the Megane Trophy off the track in the middle section saw me drop down into last place and in effect I gave up.

Thanks to the fuel saving efficiency of the Megane Trophy and it's tires holding up I recovered back to 10th on the grid having started 11th so this was good damage limitation under the circumstances.

My last comment will probably cause some discussion but I have decided to make a boycott of Saturday's nation's cup race as I am deeply unhappy that an N500 class car is currently the meta for the practice lap times when it should be N400 class cars so I am sitting that race out, I am not someone who likes that exploit of the power/weight ratio settings.

Today was all about saving tyres in both races.

Did nations once, Good qualy and a safe and cautious pace to save tyres. It worked out well for me.




Manu once as well. Decent qualy. Went for the 1 stopper because of the traffic, I don't think it was the optimal strategy but I got a great result.

Manufacturer 2 stop strategy needed a bit of luck , a very strong first 5 laps pace without battles between the front pack racers. If not the case , one stop option racers were stading in front of you out of the pits , with wasted tires , slow path and defending their position everywhere even if they were a lot slower. I've taken a penalty in the first race on my EU account because of this. This brands hatch stop is so short....

For the most part I enjoyed my race and could really feel the strengths of the Mustang. I opted for an all mediums two stop strategy that had the potential to put me 7th, but was running 8th towards the end. Starting the final lap I'm 2 seconds behind and 3 seconds ahead of the positions around me so I just tell myself to drive the lap sensibly and bring home 8th. So of course I immediately spin out on the exit to turn 1..... Lost 2 positions to finish 10th, although that still improved my overall score for the season by 200 points.

Brands Hatch is still a challenge for me. For most tracks I've weened myself off using the cones but I do still over rely on them at Brands. Of course after a couple of laps they'd all been wiped out such is the level I'm racing at!

It's all about Maggiore for me now to see if I can finish in the Ford top 30, and perhaps top 1000 in EMEA.

I thought you raced very well one or two races before this one [watched them all], but some very questionable tactics against you resulted otherwise.

I was in the 3056 points Top Split of race one. For those who watched Tidgneys first race on livestream, here´s the same but from back of the field.
After a not so good qualifying i started from P.18 but even with my best times in training, i only would have been better by two positions.

My strategy on hard racing tires wasn´t bad i think. Even the top guys finished on mediums without a stopp i felt better on hard ones at the end.
I´m happy finishing 11th in the end after such an intense race.

The Nations Cup was my chosen race for yesterday. I did a mistake by pitting and not taking care of the tires, but it was fun to comeback, and the result wasn't that bad after the finish line.

I have to say, great racing, but even more-so, AMAZING Video Editing, Quality work, and loved the "build up" effect you managed to give your intro! I really enjoyed watching this!

Entered both Nations and Manufacturers last night.
Did the first slot of the Nations and decided to give the Huracan a go as I knew it'd be quick off the standing start. Quali lap wasn't great which put me mid pack. Managed to gain 3 positions at the start but then went off at Degner 1 but luckily it only cost me one position. The rest of the race was just about keeping it on the track. Had to do the 1 stop in this car but the result turned out much better than expected.



For manufacturers I entered the last slot. Messed up my timing in quali meaning I only did one flier, only probably cost me 2 positions but made a difference come race time, though it was a decent position anyway. Went for the 2 stop (pitting lap 4 and 9) but didn't make the most of fresh tyres in either of the last 2 stints as I got stuck behind other (mostly through my own misjudgement). Was on to finish where I started but ended up being on the outside of someone who was understeering on worn tyres on the last lap which cost me many positions. Should've been a better result but I didn't race as well as I should've.

@VrapPlus I can't even blame lag, it was 100% on me on that one. (As seen in the 1st clip in this video)

0:00-0:26 : VrapPlus gets a little sideways on corner exit, swerves to the left, then proceeds to come back to the racing line. I have a complete brain fart, not wanting to rear-end him, I swerve left without verifying if there is room to do so, clip a Lamborghini, and disaster ensues.

0:27-1:01 : BZorglub goes wide on the hairpin, decides to try and keep his position, and then sideswipes me off course. (Please note that this seemed to be his style of driving as he proceeded to do the same to a few others during the same race)

1:02-2:09 : I Manage to qualify 4th in a 2000pts lobby, while being the 18th seed in the room, and got rear-ended very hard to a spinning halt. (Actually received an apology over PSN after the race, and he stopped on track to wait for me, so thumbs up to Billbader, he didn't try to make an excuse, simply apologized for his mistake.

2:10-6:46 : I am actually having fun in this one, chasing down the back of the field after being taken out in the previous clip, over 4 minutes of being right on the other racers, PATIENTLY waiting for an opening that would cause NO CONTACT, I finally get the 2 of them, only to be once again rear ended and spun out again.

6:47-11:13 : Awesome curtesy from DevildawgDdawg, he lets me by after a flash of the lights (we race together a lot) I then proceed to have a really great chase for the 2 other cars ahead of me, however I just ran out of time, so, I pulled aside and gave DevildawgDdawg his spot back on the grid and finished the race.

11:14-12-51 : One of my favorite "chase" jobs in a long time!

12:52-End : Just another clean overtake.

I think that this has been my strongest performance in race so far. I opted for a 2 stop strategy which put me into a lot of battles that could be avoided with a one stopper, specially the last stint!

However the fights were great and I felt amazing after that last lap!

Wednesday night was somewhat bittersweet for me... I only had time for 1 attempt at each, and my results were mixed.

Nations Cup: Ran the first slot and was surprised to find well over 2500 pts on offer.
I messed up my flier and started 7th, then lost another spot on turn 1. I knew that this would be a battle of attrition though so I stayed calm and nursed my tires like my first born lol.
Ahead of me, a couple of people were hit with penalties and mishaps and a few others entered the pits, and before i knew it I was crusing in 3rd somehow... @Deafsun had an unfortunate spin on the second to last lap whilst battling for the lead and I hung on for dear life to finish second with @Dodge Lamb charging up behind me at the end on the 1-stop strategy.

Manufacturer's Cup: An absolute disaster I didn't get more than 10 minutes to warm up beforehand and had awful pace in qualifying, starting wayy at the back in 17th...
I tried to stay out of trouble and managed to get within range of a top ten finish, but was taken out by a spinning car that speared across track and unfortunately never ghosted so that was pretty much the end of that lol.

Replay of nations below for anyone interested. The game cut off the last lap though for some odd reason...

Great result in Manu... except I somehow lost even more ground in the standings.

The manufacturer's cup has been incredibly competitive this season... Going to be tough getting into the top 16 before next saturday.
Great job defying the odds in the WRX though man 👍

It's amazing how unbalanced it is lol.

I quickly did a few practices. I tried the GR.B Evo Road Car, the S-FR Racing Concept, the F40 Ferrari and the porsche.

Without even putting in that good lap the 911 was 4 seconds faster than the other 3. The F40 wouldn't be that bad if it had brakes.

Well it was very obvious from the beginning that the 991 would be OP. Although I really thought the Gr.B road cars would have been even better on that track, but I guess N400 is just not enough for them to shine, especially on sport softs. If detuning was forbidden in FIA races, it would make things more interesting.

PURE IDIOTS!!! I'm braKing out of the way to let a car pass me in T1. SLams right into me. I was WAY out of the way. People with 3 second penalties are still trying to hot lap on the racing line. ruining everyone's laps. Ridiculous!

Next to no passing at N400 Interlagos. Enough slipstream that you cant get away from anyone behind you, not enough slipstream that enables anyone to pass cleanly.
