The next Nations Cup seems a bit silly with 26x tyre wear. It's Gr.3 Monza 9 laps, so a repeat of the current Daily Race, with the same fuel use of 6x, but the tyre wear is double. It seems to me this will ruin the race, as it will take all the strategic options away. With 13x tyre wear you can fairly reasonably pit at the end of any lap from 3 to 6, using the options to try to give yourself better track position. But with 26x, I'd have thought pitting at the end of lap 4 will be pretty clearly better than pitting any other time, as the second set of tyres should last a bit better with the lighter fuel load. So it seems to defeat the whole point of having fuel use, tyre wear and pitstops, as the entire field will all have to come in at the end of lap 4. So it will all be about trying to save bits of fuel here and there with fuel mix adjustments to shave bits of time off the pitstop to maybe gain a place in the pits from that. And without the possibility of pitting at a different time to other people as a way to undercut or overcut on an empty track, it's surely going to make people more willing to try dodgy overtakes.
