The next Nations Cup seems a bit silly with 26x tyre wear. It's Gr.3 Monza 9 laps, so a repeat of the current Daily Race, with the same fuel use of 6x, but the tyre wear is double. It seems to me this will ruin the race, as it will take all the strategic options away. With 13x tyre wear you can fairly reasonably pit at the end of any lap from 3 to 6, using the options to try to give yourself better track position. But with 26x, I'd have thought pitting at the end of lap 4 will be pretty clearly better than pitting any other time, as the second set of tyres should last a bit better with the lighter fuel load. So it seems to defeat the whole point of having fuel use, tyre wear and pitstops, as the entire field will all have to come in at the end of lap 4. So it will all be about trying to save bits of fuel here and there with fuel mix adjustments to shave bits of time off the pitstop to maybe gain a place in the pits from that. And without the possibility of pitting at a different time to other people as a way to undercut or overcut on an empty track, it's surely going to make people more willing to try dodgy overtakes.

Well the network died and Oceania didn't get a top 16 superstar race for Nations! Guess they can just play the technical difficulties music for Jimmy and Tom to commentate over

I have been told that there was a Nations Top 16 race and 7 people started it. The highest ranked starter would not have otherwise qualified so the points were not great.

It is not an ideal situation for a showcase event.

Got put into top split CSA. Started 9th. Finished 16. Ate 10 seconds worth of penalties. Horrible race. If anyone was there. I'm sorry.

I'll be lucky to be within 4 seconds of this time come race day. RM and RS are going to kill me.

Very disappointed to not be able to connect to nations top 16 race and just missed out on manufacturer top 16 as I only needed 1 more non lexus no show, got decent points in the race 10 minutes later though so can't complain too much other than won't be on the delayed broadcasts

Today, in the Manufacturers Series, I had finished in 4th place. I had scored 310 points in this race.

I think I was with you for both Nations and Manu, not sure tho

Nations was surprisingly fine for me, good quali saved my race, as it seemed to be a mess all the way back. Finished 3rd and happy.

Manu was ridiculous. Tried to no stop. Tested this week and worked out fine, but didn’t manage to make it work this time and completely bottled it. Last place and apologizing to half the other drivers.

The Nations race was just an LM55 one-make:lol: I got trounced in my 962, and my decision not to change tyres didn't help. It was a pointless exercise but a fun one, because I was desperate to race the car. At least I wasn't last.

2ND slot went better. Qualified 2ND. P1 went for no stop, since he was saving fuel I was able to get past him before t1. 1672 points.
Practice paid off.

Very nice manufacturer race tonight on suzuka (one of my favorite track since GT5P) , 0.500 penalty on my fast lap put me in 7th place on the grid .
During the race several battles with very fair people , not a single contact , tire wear was not so extreme and it was possible to maintain a good racing pace without having stability problems due to wasted tires with my porsche at least.
1650 points for the 5th place at the finish , a long time i didn't had so much fun for a FIA race.

Just finished my first Nations Cup Race. I used the Mazda LM55 and there was a good variety of cars in the match I entered. Had more fun than I expected. I qualified for 12th and finished 7th, despite getting a couple of penalties.

I blew my chance at some good points when I messed up my qualifying, but it was fun working my way up the grid. 18th to 10th.

I had a great time entering my third FIA ever at Suzuka.
Tough qual in a 91 sr room with some b drivers making a mess of things. One took a huge penalty when he crashed me during qual.
Ended up qual barely at 8, got up to fourth at the end.
Personal best and just over 1000 points.
Great fun. I ran well, just kept the yank tank between the lines and made a couple overtakes when 911 messed up the chicane. Good stuff.
I will race more of these for sure. Gotta make sure to be at 99 to get into the best room!
Suzuka just suits me. It kinda favors a more structured approach with consistency, that said without knowing a strategy I went out on softs due to safety concerns early trying med. I almost always feel it’s best to push early. Glad I did.
Went soft soft. I watched it second stint on a few corners to cut down wear. Rolling start plus tire wear is always a good race for me.
Imo racing is not about flat out. This race suited me.
Personal best was satisfying. Noway would I ever race on any Tokyo in any class!

Guess what? HDD corrupted again. I bought a new one last week, but should only arrive in a couple of days. I hope the issue is indeed the hdd, this is getting really annoying. My GTS/PS4 is getting corrupted every week at least once.

So, with that issue, I lost the top16 Nations signing in for exactly 2 minutes. Was really pissed cause I had pace on this combo. Had to do the last slot, which was low on points. Qualy I hit the wall when was about to make pole. Started 5th, pace was really good.

Did Manu top 16, finished 8th. Wanted to try a higher score, went for last slot. Did a good lap for pole and race was going well, until people started punting me off in the chicane.

Nations as expected was a mess but on this occasion I can only blame my self and well I guess the game.

Qualified 6th in the Hyundai, wanted to use the tomahawk as I was actually faster overall in it due to how good it was in the twisty stuff but all that would happen in the race is if get overtook on the straight then held up in the twisty stuff by lm55s

Anyway the race. Got to lap 5 penalty free and in 7th place and with 3-4 second gap behind. Not sure how because every lap cars were going through the twisty bit at dangerously low speed trying to save fuel.....just a recipe for disaster.

I'm thinking with gap behind a top 7 at worst is decent then thump I bounce of 2 walls and give myself a 3 second penalty. I serve that raging with myself as I pick up speed again to pit at end of lap 5 and just as I'm about to enter the pit lane another car who is going considerable faster due to me serving a penalty literally trys to cut in front of me at the pit entrance, hits me, hits a wall and low and behold as I leave pits iv got another 5 second penalty.

By time I get round and serve that I'm 20th, 24 seconds off the lead. I pass a few stragglers and non stoppers and as I exit the hairpin on the last lap there is like 6 cars serving penalties lol and I actually cross line in 12th. I had the pace to get a good result in this race but I only do each race once so 12th it was.

For manufacturers it seems i was in the same race as a few commenters on here .@spinerkopen .@waikeCU and .@lostsheltie although I wasnt directly battling with any off them....psn wombleleader

Qualified 8th and finished 5th essentially due to people making mistakes infront. Spent 2nd stint looking at the rear wing of the 4th placed Aston Martin. Didn't really have a sniff at a pass due to the Toyota FT-1 being poor on the straights and a handful to get the traction down but mostly because the German behind the wheel drove very well. 3 laps with me in very close proximity and never missed an apex or a braking point so deserved to take 4th.

I was happy with 5th and a score that improved my overall.

Good week-end for me, approaching A Rank, with a 2nd place at Nations , and a 8th on Manu, wich gave me good points anyway, as others drivers seemed more ranked.
I love Tokyo East in GR1!

I only had time for one FIA race yesterday, the final MFG slot. I did get a few practice races in in the days prior, but I was only able to warm up for about 5 minutes immediately before the race started. I was somewhat confident in the combo aside from the lack of warm-up...the M6 is good on tire wear and at Suzuka, plus it's one of my favorite tracks.

Top split lobby worth 2100pts (on a top16 night, and final slot, so lower points than usual), botched my flying lap so I had to settle for my banker time which was 1:59.2. I should have been able to pull a 58.7 or so, had I not messed up the final 2 sectors on the flyer. So I started 11th :(

Gained one position on lap1 turn1 when somebody took a vacation wide to Narnia. I then made a few mistakes and had to drive pretty defensively for a couple laps, where I think I lost one position and nearly a couple more but I managed to pull myself together and find some pace. The rest of the race was pretty uneventful until the end when the M6's tires were in better shape than most others on the track.

I was in 9th place on the penultimate lap, gaining on P8, who was gaining on P7. It was a Turismo guy and a TTG guy, so I figured I'd let them battle it out a bit and wait for my opportunity. Final lap and we were all 3 bunched up fighting for P7 but I was still in the back of the group. Almost went 3 wide through the hairpin and Spoon, but I backed off again before 130R. The two of them decided to fight through it and go 2-wide through 130R, but they both misjudged it and went way wide, allowing me to slip through unscathed. I nearly bottled it by late-braking through Casio, but somehow kept it on track and stayed in the lines. Who needs tires anymore at this point right?

Finished P7 for 1462pts, which sadly, has been my best performance so far this season for BMW. Still getting used to these cars, but I definitely like the M6 more than the M4 when tires and fuel are involved. It's tough to go from finishing P2 for Mazda last season to barely cracking the Top 10 for BMW with this race. The combos haven't been as friendly to me as they were with Mazda, but I'll keep trying. I don't suspect Gr.4 at Autopolis will be any better with 16x tire wear, but looking forward to Gr.3 at Maggiore to hopefully improve my MFG ranking a couple spots.

First and foremost, I apologize for my natural tendency to mash the look behind button endlessly.

I did the Top 16 Nations race in the Mazda LM55, expecting most people to be in it as the other regions were. To my surprise, it ended up being roughly a half/half split (I knew there would be at least 4 but not as many as there were), which got me concerned. I felt that the Nissan was trickier to drive, so I knew it could qualify better than the Mazda, but I felt more concerned about binning my quali lap in the Nissan. However, I thought there would be a lot more Mazdas to try and hold up the Nissans in the cornering sections with dirty air, and it ended up being quite the opposite. The mass of Nissans passed all the Mazdas and held us up in the corners with the dirty air.

I managed the best qualifying time I had gotten thus far with a 1:37.094 (I was getting 1:37.2's constantly in the lobby), which was just enough to get me pole considering Deafsun had a compromised lap. I was set up perfectly for a good run, as I had two Nissans behind me and the next Mazda in 4th with two Nissans behind him. That meant that the two Nissans behind me would lose me by the end of lap 1 and the other Mazda would be behind the back two Nissans. That built me enough of a buffer to be in a race of my own.

I had a very thoughtful boost from NZNZNZNZNZNZNZNZ, which he didn't have to do, but he did. I think it was because we ran the first slot and when he passed me, he hit both walls on the first set of esses and I ran straight into the back of him twice for bumper damage, so he may have been paying it back knowing I was on a different strategy fighting for the win.

From the pits on, I had the same gap I was able to hold first in during all the practice runs, so it was on me to hold onto my lead and secure the win. I had a really shaky run through the first set of esses on lap 7 and had a pretty bad wall hit, pretty much nullifying the aforementioned boost I got. I'm actually surprised I hadn't been penalized there, but even without the penalty I thought my race was lost.

On the final lap, Deafsun thought he could catch up enough to pass me before the chicane, but he couldn't and the dirty air sent him into the wall. I countered by hitting the inside corner of the first S, but I held just enough of a lead to go for a wide line on the final hairpin and use the AWD to get a good exit and secure the win.

I went into this race expecting the worst, as I had so many issues in practice and couldn't find the pace in the Nissan. I dismissed the Mazda entirely, up until the final morning when I saw every region using it, so I decided to funnel all my focus into getting that car down and I was able to make it work. That being said, it was definitely one of the luckiest races I've ever run. Everything from the qualifying, to the boost I got, to how the traffic around me worked itself out, I was handed a best-case scenario for this race. It was my job not to squander the advantages I got, and I was barely able to hold out.

I somehow got into Nations T16 but I had the Madza while tons of others had the Nissan. I didn't qualify well enough and so I lost the advantage of a no stop by constantly being held up. Had a shot of winning the last slot by switching to the Nissan but I lost all my advantage catching traffic in all the wrong spots after the pit stop.

Decided to upload my first Nations race since it was the most "entertaining". By that, I mean I had my millonth flier ruined and started near the back.

Also did Manu T16. The VGT was real handful because its width made clipping grass and binning it so easy to do. Another bad q which was frustrating since I had a monster banker lap in slot 1.

I suck at Suzuka.....

I was on pace for a midpack qualifying lap when I started braking for the chicane with a tire or two in the dirt. So I go sliding through the chicane and wreck my lap. I had time to finish another one but with the terrible tire wear settings and a slide, good luck getting two decent laps in in a row. I was about 2 seconds slower than my PB and qualified last in the lobby :(.

I managed to get up to P12 to finish the race, raising my position by 5. I imagine I could have finish P7 or P8, but I had another incident where I braked with tires in the dirt causing me to slide through and cut Degner 2, losing me time to begin with but also a 1.5 second penalty. The guy that was behind me at the time finished P8, hence why i figured I could have finished where near where he did.

I didn't bother giving Suzuka another try. My pace there is pretty poor to begin with. Even in the Free Practice I struggled to get laps below the 2:00 mark and I usually got in the 01 and 02's. I don't know what it is about Suzuka. I needed a top 5 at least to improve my points even by a little, I just did not see that happening as average qualy session for me would only have gotten me P12-P15 in that last lobby.

Autopolis however looks pretty good for the Scirocco. Only 1 second out of the top 10 in my first practice session last night. Tire wear is going to be nuts though. Two stints on softs is probably not happening, might start on mediums and go to softs for the seconds stint with the lighter car. That seems to be my go to strategy when two stints on the softest compound won't work.

Well this balance of performance is amazing at Autopolis hahahaha.

I'm 1.5 seconds off the fastest time, with 2 tenths to reach my absolute limit... and that car has better tyre wear to... Only reason I'm doing it is to help my Audi team mates from around the world. But I mean really I'm expecting to lose this race by over 30 seconds on Wednesday I'm sure and that's with my absolute best pace I reckon.

I have enjoyed the Manufacturers pre-seasons tracks and Saturday was Suzuka.
It’s a strong track for me and in the first race I qualified 4th with great hopes, but completely overcooked the first turn and .. you know ...
So I thought next race will be better, and the theme is Never Give Up !
Enjoy:

How about that balance of schedule as well? Only RBR was where the usual Gr4 suspects were not OP on lap times but alas, tire wear ensured them good results anyways.

To this day, I remember one of my first FIA races in GT Sport with the Gr4 Slowbaru at Interlagos. I struggled mightily that day and it's disappointing that after all this time, my impression is that it's gotten even worse since then.

Definitely out of the next manufacturer event , after a quick test in an online room , this is how the tires are staying very quickly with a 1 stop option .
You have to drive very slow and never do any excess mostly in the right turns to finish the race.
Very stupid situation , during this time , alfas and toyotas are flying 2 sec less per lap with fresh tires..... Even my porsche that is not so bad on tires can't do it there. Perhaps i will do a 2 stop on soft for the fun , i will decide at the moment.
