Much better run this time round. Qualified 3rd after a clean session and managed to maintain that position up until the pitstop phase. Things went slightly wrong on lap 6, when I drew up along the outside of the second-placed Mustang as he left the pits. He appeared to miss his braking point for the first chicane, presumably while trying to defend his position, causing both of us to go straight on and him to spear into the run-off area. Ended up grazing his rear bumper and cutting the chicane, receiving a 2-second penalty and dropping to 4th as a result. After being overtaken by another Mustang, I eventually finished 5th, taking 1346 points.

Felt like I had the pace to achieve a podium finish today, but I'm still happy with taking my biggest points haul of the season so far. I've always considered the Mustang to be one of the most well-rounded Gr.3 cars around, and it has served me well tonight.

The sitting duck 911 got caught out this time.

Qualified quite high up in 7th in field of GTR’s. Quali was crazy, the gap from 5th to 10th were seperated by 0.2s. Got a tap in the 2nd chicane on lap 1, lost momentum, then got swarmed. A car spun across the track. Trying to avoid him, he made contact with me as I tried to clear him and I get a 5s pen for that (ffs)

Taking the penalty meant I was dead last. As the leaders were pitting, some of them rejoined behind me. One GTR was so impatient in the Lesmo, he pushed me and spun me around facing the wrong way (ffs x2) meant my late pit strategy was trashed. Got 500 points, lost 800DR and 7 SR points for being penultimate.

Man it would be nice if the penalty system took into account if you gain an advantage from making contact with someone. Accidentally lightly made contact with someone going into the corner, he got a bit squirrelly and put 2 wheels on the curb, I let off and let him gather it up, neither of us barely lost any time, and I get a 5 sec penalty. Probably didn’t make much difference since I was #20 in the top split, but I was 12th at the time I got the penalty.

Ended up a distant 15th for negligible points but I’m not breaking my self-imposed one-try rule. I was the only McLaren F1 in the race, I tried a bunch of other cars but it was the only one that felt comfortable around Monza, even though its brakes are atrocious.

Going to boycott Manufacturers today and won’t be able to race on Saturday so guess I’m done for the pre-season. Filled with VW regret.

Surprised myself in Nations with a Q15 to P8 run in my good ole D/S room. Only had one good q lap, got a stupid shortcut penalty on my first hot. I run the Hyundai because its practice for Manu. One stop lap 5, undercut but it put him out right in my car so I braked, then had a jumpy lagger for the first 2 chicanes. That was nerve wracking. Good easy pace in 8th, 4sec ahead and behind me. I'll take it, probably won't try again. On to Manufacturers! (Me n my brother call em Blue and Red )


Dang darn poo crap. Qualified 2nd (D/S) and it froze. So disappointed. I've had a couple 4th places, never podium. Guess I'll try in an hour and a half.

In today's Manufacturers Series race, I started 7th and finished 4th. That's the last time I'm ever entering an MS race.

Anyone just get a "disconnected from network" right before the 9pm race? Seems to happen every week. My connection is excellent, 400mbps speed hardwired into my PS4. So tired of this. You think the game would improve with time.

I surprised myself in Nations tonight. I got home, ate dinner, and flipped on the PS4. Remembered that it was a nations night and decided to practice a bit. Then I noticed that there was 1:45 seconds before the race started so I jumped in anticipating finishing in the bottom of the pack.

Quali gets started and after the first set of tires I was sitting 12 of 20. I come in for tires and hopefully a good release from the pits. Gran Turismo Gods grant me that. I put down my next lap and lo and behold, I've qualified in 5th with no drafting goodness.

Up comes the race and I decide to hang in a GT-R's slipstream while short shifting. T1 through T4 are clean then in T5 we have the first off boosting me to 4th all the while being hounded by 2 GT-R's. We all hold station with 3rd place and me dslowly distancing ourselves from 5th and 6th.

End of lap 5 and it was pit time. I had lost some ground and was about 2.8 seconds behind 3rd place. I had saved a large amount of fuel so I elected to over fill the tank and come out .788 seconds behind the GT-R. We were both passed in the pits by a Vette trying a no stopper. He did not survive the lap and spun off in the chicane which slowed us both down tremendously and allowed 5th place to catch up to us.

Entering T1 3rd place take the inside line and I take the outside. As I am turning in BAM I get knocked into 3rd place GT-R by 5th palce GT-R. This promotes me to 3rd a full 2.5 seconds behind the battling leaders. At this point 4th and 5th have recovered and are slipstreaming to catch me and they are doing it quickly as I am in no man's land without a drafting buddy.

Last lap comes up and they are on me. I take defensive lines through each corner and nail every corner. No wiggle, no tire spin on exit, no lock ups on entry. But with a GT-R .3 seconds back I can't survive in the Mustang, right?

Entering Parabolica I take the inside entry knowing that I am going to overslow and try to out accelerate the GT-R on exit. He bottles it and spins off track and Incomenhome with a 3rd place in Nations and clean race bonus in only my second Nations race of the season.

The race was great fun. The guy who I got rammed into ramming was cool as he understood what happened. My red dot came from a 0.5 second curb jump.

This is why I have started playing again after several months of playing Project Cars2. The racing was competitive and fornthenmost part very clean.

Tried Manu again, got my first pole position in FIA, managed to bring it home 2nd, first podium in FIA. Clean to boot so decent payout. Not sure if the winner no stopped, theres no way I could handle it for 9 laps. Got me for fastest lap by .4 or so, oh well.

Monza is basically unplayable for me.

Two attempts at Nations: DR down by 5k / SR down by 50 points (FIFTY!).

Most of that came from two hits taken at the first chicane (both races) that somehow landed me a 5 sec penalty, even though I was the one being hit and got me dead last on lap one for both races.

Right now I can only say I'm dejected and completely unmotivated to play again for a while.

Well. I had no confidence coming into monza. First race seem to prove it. Qualified 3rd. Mistakes and whatnot and I finished 13th.
Last race. Started 7th. Very clean race. No penalties no nothing. People ahead died and I finished 4th with 1318 points. For such a complicated combo I'm quite happy.

I did nation today just to have some fun racing after the job , i didn't train any lap for this but it was ok . It was hard to grind some points and reach around 52000 DR doing some daily races C yesterday .......
Mid race in 4th place , i've spun in the ascari chicane and take 5 seconds penalty , ok , it happen . I've finished 16th.
The bad thing is that i've lost around 3000 DR points and 10 SR points.
It is very severe sanction in my opinion .....

The viper in either gr3 or gr4 trim is basically useless anymore, especially when the tire wear is jacked up. The BOP needs a serious update. Wasn't even pushing it and couldn't get tires to last 3-4 laps in the gr4 race at autopolis.

Nations Cup:

Started 8th, Turn 1 and lap 1 went as you pretty much would expect at Monza but despite this, didn't lose positions. in anything I gained with the amount of punting and shoving everyone else was doing to each other and got to 5th, following a DNA driver and battling Vette. Made a stop at Lap 5 and got new rubber, made up serious time in the corners and kept up with the Vette in 6th, Then two cars ran out of fuel and suddenly, I was in fourth when the checkered flag dropped. Best Nations race I've had this season since the N400 race at Tokyo.

Manufacterers Series:

The Dreaded Tire Wear struck again and as usual, its made life with the RC F GR.4 miserable (and apparently the Mazda judging by the hard time one guy had with it). Finished after qualifying dead last, it was just survival and it really annoys to have two manufacturer races in a row (both ad favorite circuits of mine) just be me struggling to make the Hardest compound last 4 laps.

Beginning to think I might just abandon Manufacterers after the preseason. Its far worst then last year and I hardly have been able to race. As for Nations, I'm genuinely surprised its gone as well as it did. I was expecting to do Way worse in it.

Lol oops, friends convinced me to race Monza. Lost 5k DR tonight and dropped into the 90s for SR. Was fun though, but I have nothing to show for it. Decent score in the GT-R for MFG tonight was mission impossible.

I only got a chance to run a few laps here and there but I am almost certain tire wear has changed with the update. Specifically, front wear seems like it has improved but rear is worse. It's more of a marginal shift although if what I think has happened holds, it may have a big impact for Saturday. Specifically, any FR vs MR Manu fights.

Alright so this isn't the fastest race ever, nor is it the fastest top split ever, but hear me out. I won a race at Monza in the Subaru.



I have to apologize again for my really bad habit with looking back. The more I notice I do it the more it bothers me, so I'll try to be less crazy in the future.

A major shoutout to putput44, who definitely had better pace than I did and was completely chill with how erratic and poorly I drove on the last lap. One of the things I struggle with most is trying to find the right braking point when I'm on the inside of somebody.

There Lightning, I drove the Subaru in your rather tasteful livery!

Tried the SLS in the Nations, but my qualifying time wasn't good enough (1:50.0), so I started in 19th. Decided to try a no-stop, and it kinda worked as I managed to get it up to 3rd before fading away to 8th. Was a pretty boring race, but I really had to fuel save like a maniac, and I still ran out just before the line. Not really a fun race, probably would have been better to pit, but it is just about viable. Might be worth a look for better drivers.

Manufacturers was more fun but I had 3 Alfa's and 4 Toyota's in my race so I knew it was going to be tough. Qualified in 6th with just under a 1:51 and then proceeded to have a race long battle with an Audi. I managed to get past him on the 4th lap after he touched the grass coming out of the hairpin, but then he sat behind me for the rest of the race testing out my defensive driving. We both had a few issues towards the end when a rather aggressive GT86 on much better tyres decided to push past, but it was a lot of fun and managed to get 5th (Behind 2 Alfa's and 2 Toyota's)

What the hell was going on? What was Redford doing when he came out of the pits? I expected you lot to all catch me as I did a lap 3 undercut and could see the delta getting smaller to yourself most of the time but then when I was still in 2nd on lap 8 I knew I probably should've finished there. Was expecting Redford to get passed you and Chewy easily and then cruise up to me but I guess it's really difficult to overtake around Autopolis, even on infinitely better tyres. I guess you two have very powerful cars in comparison. It looked like carnage, Chewy was lagging all over the shop and backing everyone up on his mediums and I'm a little surprised I was the only one in that little gaggle of cars to pits on lap 3.

i got 2000+ points for 2nd so was delighted with that, that's my biggest points haul to date. Somehow my DR is still below 50000, on 49800 to be precise

Pushed the leader in a Lambo for 4 laps and I pitted; leader stayed out for some reason. I undercut him by 4 secs. Lead all the way home for my 4th victory this season. 17:29 total time.

I am nearly guaranteed to finish 1st for Honda in NA. I'm pretty proud of myself, took a lot of work. Next goal is to get up to A+ and start fighting for "real" points.

Side note...the Global Manufacturer Rankings are now on the GT Sport website rather than only on the game.

Redford stayed out for an extra lap before pitting and both me and Chewy managed to jump him, so it took a couple of laps until he managed to get past. FF cars can be difficult to get past if we just park the car on the apex and then boot it out of the corner. Your strategy was perfect

A quick word of caution about with racing in A+ top split lobbies, decent points are incredibly hard to come by. Last night I raced in the top split NA lobby and started 17th with a botched qualifying effort, thankfully I had a pretty awesome drive and ended up 8th for a points haul of 1627 points. This was in a 2577 points room. It's a shame that you can have the drive of your life in the fastest lobby in the region, end up top 10 and earn such little points. I know this has been a complaint from drivers like me who have good DR but struggle to finish top 5 at the sharp end of the top splits, it becomes a points earning nightmare.

I'm not posting to be negative, but the reality of racing in the top split vs. the aliens is very eye opening. These guys are amazingly talented people a top 10 against them feels like a victory until you see the points you earn in return. LOL!

Pleasant surprise for me in the Manu race last night.

I didn't know what to expect from this one in the FF VW. Then, when I joined the lobby I found myself in the first A/B crossover lobby I've been in in a while. Now I really didn't know what to expect. It was the most points on the line for me all season.

I needed a P9 or better to improve my points.

I absolutely nailed my qualy lap, at least as far as I'm concerned. My strat was: a 1st gear fuel burn on the outlap into a banker lap, quick in lap fuel burning through the twisty bits, pit, quick but gentle outlap, last fast lap. In all my practice sessions, the best I could muster was a 1:51:9 and for the race both my banker and fast lap that's exatly what I got. I was P2 after my banker and held it for the rest of qualy, improved it slightly on my last lap by a few 100ths.

So started P2 on mediums. Lost a position in the first few turns to a Cayman, then battled with a 4C behind me and eventually lost out to him on the first stint. We all pit finishing lap 5.

2nd stint I switched to softs, I re-took P3 from the 4C but a lap and a half later my tires started to go and the 4C took the spot back. I held off another Cayman for the rest of the race and got my self a nice P4 for my most point so far this season, albeit by only a tiny bit.

The race was dominated by Caymans, I think the final standings looked like this:

With this I think my season is done as I don't think I'll be able to race this Saturday. At least I hit my goal of 3000+ points. With that I should be in the top 10 DR:B drivers in the region, I counted last night and I would have been the 3rd highest DR:B driver, but that was before last night points were counted. And the top DR:B driver is a guy I know for sure is usually a DR:A and probably just dropped to B. We live in the same city so I see him in the Nations local ranking all the time. Anyways, all in all, a good pre-season for me.

Kie25 raced Nations with a lower rated account last night to illustrate this. He qualified 1st and drove away from everyone. 2291 points. BUT, the thing is, his main account is on 13106 pts, average of 2621 pts for each of his best 5 races. So although it might have been really easy for him to get 2291 points in the lower split, if he raced in that split every time it would be impossible to match his points from racing in top split.

I'm aware of the point struggles at the top tiers just from the few rants on this forum in the past. Like many people here, I have my own ideas how to fix the points but I won't elaborate on them now.

I'll relish my time at the sharp end of A lobbies for now and hopefully will be racing with the fast people soon

Nations was a combo that I really like, anything on Monza. Shame the top room had a bad scoring. Did an ok first hotlap and made a mistake on my low fuel second hotlap on qualy that cost me 3 tenths, but in the end didnt cost me any positions in the grid. In the race, I tried the overcut because the car behind me was clearly saving a lot of fuel using my draft (I was saving too, but can't save as much as the car behind). Almost worked.



Manufacturers was a struggle. First slot I chocked qualy and couldnt do much to finish better than 6th. Tried again on second slot, but the room had terrible points. Had to try again for the last time (video below). Scoring was even lower, but the result was ok.
