We're finally back with the official races, potentially doing all 3 time slots tonight just for punishment and all that! Feel free to tune in and see how the new R8 feels/looks (It feels like a new car).

Are people no-stopping manufacturers? I can stretch the Genesis for 8 laps pretty easily but I'm not sure about 9

Gave it a try in practice. No way my tires last that long. Maybe I'm just shredding them, but they are def my bottleneck.

Fuel was actually ok dropping down 1.5 to 2s a lap, tho

Just come from 1 lap at DT Seside where I got 10 penalty seconds in one lap for people hitting me and going off. Fast right at T4 I think, someone turns in hard when I have the inside and clatters themselves off. My penalty. Someone taps my bumper then clips the wall on the way out of the chicane of death. My penalty.

This is just stupid. I might go back later, but you know when you have those races where you just don't see the point given how everyone else is driving.

Noooo blew it on the chicane second to last lap. Running in 3rd, catching the leaders who were fuel saving, 3 seconds ahead of 4th and bang. Heavy damage and crawled home back in 9th. Would have been my highest points haul so far.

Manufacturers! I was the 5th seed in split 3, which was worth 2310 points for the win. Qualifying was really bad. I got impeded on one of my flying laps by two people playing bumper cars and miscalculated my fuel so I missed my final chance at a lap. Ended up 18th out of 19 with a 38.4.

The race was good though! Somehow, driving like my grandma, fuel saving like crazy and taking advantage of accidents I made my way up to P5. I was in the battle for the podium, but I got caught up in a small incident at the chicane of death and fell to P8. I finished there for 1459 points, which puts me in the top 10 McLarens for EMEA, so I'll take it :)

Are people no-stopping Manufacturers? It felt like the GT-R was at least 3.5 laps short, and that's without factoring in the tyres.

Thanks, I see it in the game now. A bit strange that there's some info on the website that isn't in the game and vice versa.

UX and UI were never GT’s best feature.

I never understand why they just state “ONE MAKE” instead of saying which car. Just as well, I don’t get why they don’t add the layout information on the calendar, etc

Another solid run tonight. Settled on the Hyundai for Nations, after finding it to be the fastest and most consistent car I tried in practice. Qualified 7th with my first lap, but unfortunately ran wide on my second while following a struggling Lamborghini through 130R. Ended up making contact with the Lambo, which was enough to make him spin; a few apologies between ourselves put the incident aside.

The race itself went fairly well. Got close to a queue of cars battling for 4th place (later 6th), at which point the Lambo nudged me wide a few times and eventually struck it up the inside at the hairpin. Wasn't able to do much from that point onwards, but I still kept close to the group in an effort to capitalise on any mistakes that might happen up front. Dropped down to 9th following an unsuccessful attempt to pass a black and white Lexus at the chicane, but eventually gained two places back on the last two laps when that and another Lexus ran wide at 130R and the chicane respectively. Crossed the line 7th, bagging 1,271 points in the process.

Shortly before entering the Nations race, I decided to join the Manufacturer Series for the first time this year. Signed up for Ford (both Mustangs), and went into the Dragon Trail race with only a few laps and practice races under my belt. Expected nothing but a good kicking by the end of it.

Turns out that the Gr.3 Mustang is just as stable and enjoyable to drive as ever. Strung in a 1:39.012 which was good enough for provisional 6th, and eventually chipped away until I managed a 1:38.304 - just over nine tenths off pole. Given how competitive my lobby was, 10th was the best starting position I could manage.

On the first lap, the Porsche behind me made a bold move on the inside of the slow chicane, causing me to drop back to 13th as I tried to save fuel and not get in the way of faster cars. Despite taking a brief bump from a purple Audi, I steadily made my way back up the order, taking advantage of various battles and mistakes further ahead. The highlight for me was when I got a good run on a red Lambo at the start of Lap 4 and passed him before the first chicane; this, along with a few other happenings on track, enabled me to get as high as 7th before pitting on Lap 5.

While not expecting much out of the second stint, I began to forge my way back into the top 10. Saving fuel at the start then going flat-out at the end always seems to pay off for me, as I was able to string three consecutive laps in the 1:39 range and climb up to 10th by the start of the final lap. Eventually finished 9th following a mistake from the red Lambo, scoring 1,059 points. It remains to be seen whether I can get equally decent results in the Gr.4 Mustang, but for now, it has been a fine return to both FIA championships for me.

Did mine on a 1-stop. 7 laps was the maximum range I could get out of the Mustang in the first half.

Nations Cup (my first NC run)
Started at 14th, 7th at the last lap at Spoon then came two very friendly bmw m4. The first knocked me to the gravel (Spoon), he had the chance to gave back the position but of course he didn't, the second hit me 15 seconds later at the final chicane... same story with the positions. Last lap, 2 bmw, 2 hits, -2 positions...

Quite disappointed with Manufacturers, given a number of things. Bottled the chicane on my last flying lap, so started 11th. Stayed out til lap 5 when the tyres were probably good enough after five laps to make the undercut work. Given the carnage that happened ahead of me on the first lap and elsewhere given what people were saying in the chat after though, probably good I didn't. Had the fastest lap at one point and was one of three cars to go under 1:39 in the race. Could have made a fight for 3rd at the end and should have at least got 4th, but the Supra ahead parked it through the first chicane and I didn't really get close enough anywhere else. Ended up 5th for 1010 points, which is too good to risk trying again.

BUT.

After 896 races and 488 hours of driving, something miraculous has happened.

Whats the general go to fuel strategy for the mercs in the manufacturers?

Had a nightmare race earlier, with dumb punts etc, but I still had to go fuel map 3 for a lap to give myself the ability to run the last3 laps on fuel map 1 and try and attack and recover.

For giggles, going to run the last manufactures race starting from the back on the leanest fuel map and a casual drive to see how far I can go before I either finish or am forced to stop. Wonder how far I can go.

Edit: Looks like I won't be doing anything since I have a black screen and I can't see 🤬.

Oh well.

Total nightmare of a race in Manu.

After doing fairly consistent 1:37,1xx’s in practice, I only managed a 1:39 in quali, surrounded by cars messing other people’s laps.

The race itself only got worse and after being spun twice in T1 and had a penalty drawn on me, hauled some useless 650 points.

Oh, and of course, SR down 18 points. So frustrating!

Well after having a black screen through warm-up and qualifying I obviously was forced to start at the back which is where I wanted to be anyway. Racing Hards equipped and fuel map on 7 I cruised my way around. Crossed the line with 1.2 laps of fuel left and a fast lap some 6 seconds off the leaders. I actually had fun believe it or not but everything in this game is about going 11/10 all the time so gotta push push push.

Got a clean race though and moved up a couple spots. :D

Black screen of "no qualifying for you!"

Ugh that glitch annoys me, I remember when I got it during the pre-season at Brands and I was so mad.

Second time it's happened to me.

Doing some laps at Sardegna B II in preparation for Wednesday's Gr.4 race and they are SUPER stingy about you not using all of the curb on the exit of the last corner. Been bit multiple times already, penalties ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 seconds.

Edit: After multiple restarts for last corner penalties.......ran a 1:26.561 which I am assuming will be 1-2 seconds off the pace of the top 10 which currently says "No records found"?

Went for the Jag on nations cause I didnt have enough time to learn the Lexus and I know the Ftype really well. Decent qualy banker lap that was actually my main lap cause I binned second attempt gave me 3rd on grid. In the race I had good pace and good fortune finally on a Nations race. Massive score, my biggest yet in Nations.

For Manu the room was extremely competitive. I was aiming for a podium to be satisfied, got close to that.

Had a potential podium in the top split 8pm room. Threw it away with a horrible defensive late braking move into T1. Ended up with 1600pts and finishing towards the back of the top 10. Decided to tackle it one more time. Things were looking good until an inexperienced player divebombed into my passenger door before the bus stop. That incident destroyed my second chance at improving points. Ended up with a laughable 832pts. Oh well. Until next time.

Best drive I've ever had at Dragon Trail and it's not even close. Given my putrid track record at Seaside, I was thinking maybe Top 5 at best and yet, I was in position to win. Naturally, it came down to the last lap on the last corner.

Not much luck this week. Still hit personal bests in both Manufacturers and Nations for points earned, but only because I'd been nursing my DR and SR back up. I finished somewhere around 8th in both races, after 2 attempts at each race. But given my ratings didn't suffer from psychotic opponents and E-ranked newbies, it was still a good round.

I tried for a no-stop on manufacturers, but the amount of fuel in the tank was just too little, so re-adjusted my strategy the second time around to factor in a pit stop, but I only gained about 1 - 2 places.

That was a fun race bud, good racing mostly. Hope to see you on track again soon bud

Terrible day of racing for me...but I had a lot of fun practicing at least, lol.

Did all 3 Nations top splits. First one, qualified poorly with a 2:09.1. Started 14th, people crashed and I moved up to 9th. Got two penalties on the last lap and finished 11th. Should’ve just stopped there.

Second slot. For about the 2nd time in my life I qualified well with a 2:08.2. I think several guys who could’ve qualified better than me made mistakes, so I started P5. After the first couple laps I just fell apart at every corner it seemed like, and dropped like a rock. Finished P12.

Third slot, bad banker lap, then on my flyer I got blocked into 130R by a guy who served a penalty then didn’t get off the line. His dirty air took me off track and I got a penalty through Casio. Started in P12 with a disgusting 2:09.7. My previous qualy time was 1.5s better and would have started me in P2 of this last slot. Had another mistake-filled race and finished P11 I think it was. Less points for each of my efforts.

Some days, we just suck and gotta deal with it. See you guys next round.

I have failed nation and manufacturer qualification yesterday , i have spun on my fast lap at suzuka , forget to pit and run out of gas in dragon trail last fast lap.
The only good thing of starting in 18th position is that you don't feel any pressure at all.
I 've finished around the 8th place in both after a very fun race , a good compromise of regularity and agressive clean driving.
It was very fun indeed , mostly the Gr3 at dragon trail with 1 stop option , passing a lot of people cruising on track with gas consumption problems.
