Wow...I had two of the best races ever today!!
A big fight with a very good racer from South Africa in the last 5 laps on Sardegna. I came to his rear and just keep waiting for a mistake, but there wasn't. So I tried to overtake him, but he had good defending skills. So he made a mistake in the prelast lap, so I was in front, but he overtake me directly on the straight. But never give up, so in the last lap he brakes one moment later and not reaching the apex, a good chance and a wonderful 4th place.

Very happy with the result and my highest points haul so far. Will crack the 1,000 barrier one day!

Qualified 5th, collision up ahead in first lap gave one car a penalty. 4 of us broke away and spent most the race just following each other. Mistake by car in 3rd on last lap saw me pass to take the position.

Had high hopes for the Manufacturers race tonight, but couldn't make the most of the Mustang's pace this time. Started qualifying well enough with two competitive laps - the second good enough for provisional third at one point. Completely bottled my third lap after running wide at the first S-bend and got caught behind traffic on my fourth; the Megane Trophy in front of me proceeded to squeeze me onto the inside on the run to the banked hairpin. So, having thrown away my chances of getting a fantastic grid slot, I had to settle for 8th.

Onto the race, then. Early on, I dropped down to 9th after being held up by a struggling Aston, but kept my ground in an attempt to stay with the orange Lexus that passed me. Part-way through Lap 4, the Lexus AND Aston both started lagging; I ended up accidentally tapping the Aston as he tried to move across to the outside of the second hairpin, forcing me to back off. A few more mistakes lead to me dropping two more places, one to a ROKiT-liveried Mercedes who proceeded to push a struggling grey Jaguar wide on Lap 7. By that point, I was fairly frustrated with the lack of progress and the handful of small errors I had been making. However, I continued to follow the Jaguar as the Aston spun off at the start of Lap 8, promoting us one place each in what was becoming a queue for 8th place. On the last lap, me and the other Mustang managed to pass the grey Jag coming out of the first esses; this lead to a tense battle for the remainder of the lap, as me and the grey Jag traded places up to the final hairpin. There, I took a tight line and managed to hang on to 9th place, bringing home 1,058 points. With a nearly-identical score to last Saturday's race, I probably shouldn't feel too disappointed in not being able to get the Mustang higher up the order.

Not much I can say about Nations. Took a smooth and steady approach to qualifying, securing a 1:49.906 on my last lap and starting 8th once again. Despite losing a few positions and having at least one car lagging all over the place within my vicinity, it was a fairly clean and enjoyable race from my end. Got involved in a few close battles near the bottom of the top 10, including one on the last lap where I traded places with a Spaniard. In the end, had to settle for 11th and 892 points, but came out of it a more satisfied player.

To make Nations even sweeter, I managed to get through the entire session without picking up a single penalty! :biggrinsvg:

I think I might have accidentally switched to the only manufacturer with a worse (on pace terms; it's a lot nicer to drive, and on tyres) Gr.4 car than Mazda. Still, qualified 19th and finished 12th for a fairly measly 600pt, in an all A/S (one S/S) field.

Almost exactly the same field with Clio V6s, started 5th, came 2nd for 1,200pt - and a clean race bonus

My nations cup race and best qualifying lap. From actual race footage, not a replay, and with all the rubbish edited out.

Ugh. Missed the first slot due to work, jumped into the 2nd slot and qualified P4, though i could have gone faster but traffic wasn't cooperating. Unfortunately for me I went a hair wide exiting turn 10 and the sand proceeded to suck me right into the corner of the wall that sticks out. Stopped me dead in my tracks. Continued on in 15th and started making my way back through the field. A couple bumps here and there from people turning into me while trying to pass them. No penalties though. I'm sure my DR took a hit. Ended up 8th with 1229 points. Will try the last race and stay away from that wall..

I'm baaaaack. After being away from GTS for a month, there's some ground to make up in the Honda standings.

Pole with 1:17.4XX, led the whole way and finished in 13:18. Highest point total to date, 1946.

I really like that symbol on the hood. What is it?

The mustang was really strong tonight. Even with after dropping 2 tenths on my best Q lap in the final sector I ended up in 2nd. I had a teammate behind me in 3rd and we just drove as a pair all race till the end. 2124pts.

Sadly something happened to my connection and my stream dropped near the end.

Fun race tonight! That Mustang definitely has some legs in a straight line compared the to 86.

Focused on Manu tonight cause the combo was probably the best yet for Jaguar, one of the strongests cars here. Managed a decent qualy lap (on qualy practices I had done 26.3) but dont think I had in me to beat world champ Igor on the 86. For the race my mindset was also trying to keep Didico and Nico at bay and bring the 2nd place home.

What an evening. Top split; qualified P3. Was leading on Lap 7 and unfortunately was the unlucky victim of a racing incident. After reentering I was 3rd from last. Went in to finish in 11th I believe.

In an effort to gather some more points I went for a rerun on the last time slot. I couldn’t find peace in qualifying and ended up starting P8. Finished P4 grabbing 2400pts.

Ups and downs, but overall the spirit and realities of racing was alive and well tonight.

Race 2 for me didn't start great with a P9 starting spot. Traffic played a small part in that but mostly I just couldn't put it together. First turn someone binned it, then another went off shortly after, followed by someone meeting the same fate I had with that wall that sticks out. Suddenly found myself right behind @SpecMiata-JSW for a few laps filling his mirrors. Some good clean racing and I finally managed to sneak by. BUT, exiting the last corner I went a couple inches wide and got hit with that BS penalty. There should be no penalty here, it's not that wide and if you push it you're going in the kitty litter anyway...

Either way, a few behind me had issues and a penalty of their own so I only lost one spot while serving the penalty. Came home 5th. Considering the level of people I was up against, I'll take it.

Daaannng I see that you're in the top splits now. I've raced ya a couple of times from last season and hell yea keep repping the Hondas!

I was able to do really well in my Manu race especially getting second in the Atenza!

Despite a load of practice I don't feel at all comfortable with Sardegna B II in Gr.4, but still gave it my best shot.

Seeded 12th in probably the highest FIA lobby I've been in. Managed to qualify 7th and in order to improve my overall points needed to finish .... 7th or higher.

I spent nearly the entire race battling against two Subaru's, me in my Merc. I'd not seen it before but I've now witnessed first hand how utterly terrible that car is in a straight line. It was at the point where even tucked into my slip stream I'd still widen the gap to the car behind. I mess up the last corner on the penultimate lap and one gets by me, but by turn 1 I'm back in front fairly easily.

I felt bad for them, but was happy to finish in the hardest fought 7th place I've had in this game and 1007 points. Fun race in the end so glad I persevered :)

Had a quick few laps at St Croix B this morning and feel like I should just give up on Mitsubishi. Could only get into the 2:19's so loaded a ghost to see where I was losing time - I was losing 2 car lengths before the 1st corner and then the ghost just drove away from me out of every corner.

I was really trying with Mitsubishi but not sure what the point is. Think I might just create another PSN account and join another manufacturer :)

Yea ...we will get killed at St.croix..to many wide open portions to lose time very few places we can make up time..im gonna skip that one...hang in there bro we need all the help we can get...lol

Looking at the next 5 manufacturer races I see 2 where the Mitsubishi will be mediocre and 3 where it will be so awful that there is no point in racing. For me the FIA races are the most fun thing about GTS due to the format ( I get bored quite quickly hot lapping to get a decent Q time in the Daily Races), so removing that from me kinda kills the game. Nations is ok, but I prefer seeing all the different cars racing and manufacturers tends to require less practice.

As for Mitsubishi in EMEA, you do have VLX_Sparks who is faster than me so it's not like me giving up really matters :)

Managed to a decent finish in last night's Manufacturer's race. My game plan was to just take it easy and not bottle it as I had done in the previous two races. I figured since it was a new track, a lot of people would push too hard and make mistakes. And boy did they. Grid position was 16, qualified 10th, finished 5th. I'll take it.

Keith.

Didn't plan to run Sardegna but decided to hop in the last slot for fun. Ended up being the highest scoring room of the night, a rarity for NA.

My initial pace was too slow but it only hastened the inevitable hornets nest behind me. I still don't know how I survived.

Never felt like I got up to pace with Sardegna in practice so wasn't expecting much. The grid was very close in quali and I qualified at the bottom of midpack. The race was just about staying out of trouble and managed to gain a few positions thanks to that. Had a decent battle last couple of laps to finish off for a relatively ok result.

It was cool sharing the track with you again (it's been a long time man!), I'm still mad at myself for spinning just after you got by. I had saved my tires and was ready for attack mode on the last 3 laps.....but alas, I am my own worst enemy. :dopey: Thankfully we gapped the rest of the field, so I only lost 1 position due to the spin, but caught the driver and past him on the last lap. He was very clean and we had a great battle for the position.

I can't say the same for the 2nd slot (my first race of the evening), I was molested and pushed around the entire race, it was comical. When I rejoined the track after getting punted off (from 4th?) I was all the way in the back, and the driving was even worse back there, the worst I think I've ever seen since going online last year. It's almost like this track motivated people to drive poorly for some reason. Maybe because the track is new and people don't know where it's safe or not safe to pass? I don't know. Both manufacturer's races were busy, hectic, and ended up being fun once the dust settled.

See you on track again soon! 👍

Enjoyed the manufacturers 5th race last night. Sardegna Road Track was a nice flowing track and people behaved.
Not too many places to overtake in my mind but I worked on capitalizing on other peoples mistakes and it paid off.
Started with 7 on the door and a 10 qualifying spot and ended 5th in an enjoyable race. The person with penalty that bumped me apologized afterwards and that was nice.

Skipped most of third stage for nations. Wasn't liking the cars. Looking forward to Fuji and Mt. Panorama.

What is unexpected is how much I'm enjoying next Saturday's track.
Did 1000km today alone. 95% of it with the Jaguar LMAO.

I know that's not gonna last but... for a beautiful instant, I was faster than McQueen hahaha.

Tomorrow gonna open a lobby to work on strategy and stuff. Looking forward to this race.

Nice lap :).

It's good to see people coming back :). I probably gonna try racing this saturday since I'm not very interested in some of the future combinations either. Unfortunately, due to the current point allocations and championship structure, the South American Nations Cup is becoming quite deserted. If I get into the first lobby, there are not enough points to colect any improvements and I'm no chance against the aliens. If I go to the second lobby, there are no points, period. I'm improving my rank only by my past results.

And about Manufacturers: Mitsubishi + Saint Croix = Nope.

Yeah, seeing 2ND split give like 1650 points is kinda sad.
I shouldn't complain. I still have a lot of room to improve my score.
One thing that kinda put me off racing this stage was the fact I never got the S rank even though I finished the second stage in top 50 for the region and 5th for Uruguay. That plus tracks/cars I didn't like made for the perfect excuse for not playing. The second half of this stage seems to suit my taste so I'll be giving it a shot.

Maybe we'll race each other on Saturday. Good luck!
