Got 6th in CSA top split for nations. Some of the heavy hitters were absent but still top split. 1600 points and now I'm 3rd for my country. Pretty neat.
Crazy race. People dying everywhere.
Also experienced the most tense moment in this game since I started playing. Will upload tomorrow.

Boy, Nations race is fun just for the carnage. Gonna try the late races. The Stang is a gas hog in the Manu. Just staying on track is helping my DR.

Crazy carnage. Got black screened for quali, started last and made my way up to 10 just by staying alive (being hit by everyone, from all sides) and avoiding penalties.

Manu was incredible. Saved enough gas to have a comfortable race. Surprisingly, I was running 7 when 5 guys stopped ahead of me. Kept 3rd without any more surprises. Not a bad podium to take with the Huracan!

Thanks for the heads up earlier! Had an incredibly lackluster 14th place qualifier turn into a 4th place finish with the no stop in my Atenza!

Ayyyy Mazda lesss gooooo

Were you on fuel map 5 or 6 throughout??
You only need to be on 2 for the majority after the race settles after lap 1, short shift as well (35-45% rev bar or less) and you'll be in good shape!

I was quite surprised no one else really tried the no-stop in my race, as I missed the first time slot and thought more would move to that strategy lol

I knew I should've been short shifting. I forgot about the fuel during my race and ran out during the middle of the last lap on the last race slot right now...rip

I played with it a lot during the race, moving to 6 in the end of the straights or when using someone for slipstreaming, etc

I even moved out of the way to let a couple of guys go (two Porsches that eventually stopped and one Ferrari, which is so good on fuel it looks like a hybrid) instead of fighting to save time and fuel.

After the Nations carnage, decided not to try it again and risk SR for no good reason. Had better/cleaner racing with the x19 on Sardegna than on Fuji.

I’m assuming it’s because of the start-stop, one racing line nature of it, while Fuji allows for strange divebombs and turn 1 punts.

Skipped today's Nations race because buying the X2019 would make me broke.

As for Manufacturers, qualified 8th and finished on podium. Best result I've had in this series so far. :)

Race 1: aliens getting shot out of the sky, exciting finish! :)

Race 2: 2nd split, weak qualifying, good pace, meh 1636pts won't help.

^^ check out 30:25 for my fav pass of the night and i'm the one being overtaken. Amazing driving by SinisterDriven in the Lambo.

I finally got my streaming equipment setup and needed a very particular audio cable so I scrapped going live with commentary and a B Cam, but I did stream the final NA Manu race.

Top split. Fuel saving became a mini game. Qualified P3 with a very low 1:40. Race starts at 29:00.

Small mistakes and battles cost me 4th place having to settle for 5th in both
Struggled with worn rears on the x2019
Battling and deciding to not retry cost me some global manu points, but the PUG train is still a rollin

I won Race 2 from 6th on the grid for 30 points, but was pretty fortunate to be honest.

Pole, 2nd and 3rd placed starters were wiped out of contention with penalties and/or collision damage by the end of Lap 1. Really avoidable stuff.

9pm Manufacturers
Going for the earlier slot in the hope of a much needed early night. Didn't get qualifying quite right and started 6th. The race was very messy and I made a huge lap 1 error at the sharp left after the long right hander by the church. It was a silly mistake that I've never made before and put me back to something like 15th. Through a combination of not pitting, not getting any penalties and taking advantage of other people getting penalties manage to get back up to 6th for 1161 points, which is not too shabby for me. But .... I really felt I could do better with this race.

Why not right? This time manage a fairly solid lap on my last run. Nearly fell out of my seat when I see I'm on pole! Happily nobody beat my time too.
And .... it finally happened. I finally won a FIA race :D:D:gtpflag::D:D

I'd like to say it was a hard fought close battle sewing up the victory at the last corner, but it was far from it. I was quite lucky really. The race behind me was looking pretty messy and I only slipped to second place when a 1 stopper breezed past me on the start/finish straight. Other than that I just stuck to my fuel saving plan and was able to drive my own race, eventually crossing the line with a 10 second gap and 1648 points. By far my most successful FIA race.

It really feels like my racing has take strides forward recently and I have to credit @Tidgney for his driving school. That's been a massive help, so thanks 👍

Feel like I have to add, I do see the nonsensical points system here. There's no way I should be getting more points than someone finishing at the lower end of the higher split lobbies.

So I was just deleting some old replays of last years FIA races and noticed that several of them were ~25 minutes long, longest being a whopping 28 minutes. And that was before the unscippable long-ass intro got added. Current races last less than 15 minutes... :odd:
Why? I don’t remember EVER seeing a complaint about races being too long, quite the opposite in fact.

Congratulations on the win!!! That’s a massive amount of points. This may already be posted elsewhere, but I’m relatively new to the FIA races with this being my first season. And it was a late start with me not signing on until round 4. What determines the amount of points you get? I came in 8th last night and got 44 points.

The NSX had great pace in Manu last night. Unfortunately, a win wasn't enough points to improve in the first 2 time slots. So I used them to build DR. Finally the 3rd race was better points, but still not enough. So I just needed to get a good result for overall Manu standings.

Race 1: Q 2nd, finish P1.
Race 2: Q pole (1:40.6), finish P2.
Race 3: Q 4th (1:40.9), finish P2 (13:55).

Race 3: One of my best races to date. I had to pass a supra and lambo in the opening laps and spent the rest of the race chasing down a McL F1 3.5 sec ahead. All while sipping gas as frugally as possible. By lap 7, I caught and passed him only to get repassed on lap 8. I made a dive in the last corner of the last lap but went too deep, and the McL got thru.

It's based on the total DR of everyone in the lobby

Yesterday's race is one I won't forget in quite a while. 2ND time racing in top split. Last time went horribly.

Qualified 9th. Not too bad. This is top split after all. Race starts and people start dying. Suddenly I'm 5th... as I was realizing this, it was like becoming aware that you can fly, only to fall because you thought too much about it.
And so I fell to 8th. Then someone ahead dies, now I'm 7th.
My pace is good to challenge even 5th but I had a very tough Mexican ahead of me. Too much fighting and 8th, a Brazilian, catches up to us. He eventually gets past me but now he had to deal with the Mexican. We're on lap 6 by then.
I figured I should stay close behind and try to take advantage.
And so... we get to the end of lap 9 and what is possibly the most intense **** I've experienced in this game... probably any game to date.

I wasn't even sure what I was going to do until I was halfway through t1.
All I know is that as soon as I saw the Mexican on my left I knew I was going to let the car go wide a little bit just enough to cut him off. I wasn't really looking to get past the Brazilian. It was the Mexican I was focusing and decided to let my elbows out for once. He had been doing it all race long.
But then, it turns out I get a better exit than the Brazilian. Now all I'm thinking is that if I get ahead before t2 I had 6th in the bag since t2 can be quite tricky if you're following. After getting the best t2 I had all race... I realized... my heart was pounding hard. My legs were shaking. My hands were freaking numb.
Man... what can I say. Granted, there were like 3 or 4 big names missing and the race was just a mess all around.
I don't care. I finished 6 in the top split doing the overtake of my life.

No worries mate, it's only a game. I needed P6 or better to improve any points I already have, so starting P14 that probably wasn't happening.

Looking at the replay it looked like you either tried to dump me on purpose or it was very lag induced, seeing your an Argentine I'm sure a lot of it was lag.

I just felt like being salty when I remembered where I recognized your PSN from :)

Definitely not on purpose. The two incidents I had were honestly due to lack of awareness. I had no idea it was a no-stopper until checking here ten minutes before the race.

So when the race started I had no reference as to how to enter and exit the turns at such low speeds. And I was more focused on my revs and fiddling with the fuel map than the action on track.

The two practice rooms I did everyone stopped, hence me getting caught off-guard on track and distracted by monitoring fuel.

Both incidents were 100% my fault due to distractions. Not trying to take the blame off myself, but I really hated that race. Only eight laps? With extreme Sunday drive fuel-saving?

In retrospect I should have stuck to a one-stop. I would have had more fun, and would have been less erratic on-track, since full attack is what I had practiced for.

After weeks of pain, mistakes and crashes in Nations Cup , it´s time to shine again with pole, victory and 2181 points. :D
Lobby wasn't the best as I had to restore my SR short before the race and drove on last place in Race A because of that :O
Even the race wasn't intense as others in the middle of the pack it´s interesting to see my total time compared to other lobbys.
My qualifying time 1:23.3 was about 1,3 seconds slower than the top split in Europe but my total time in race only 6 seconds.
14:02 min was even good enough for second place in the last top split (in front of Manurodry) .
As always my race pace was much better than my qualifying.
For the first time I used a different BB strategy for qualy and race. While I had 0 at qualifying I used -5 for the race to make my rear tires last longer.
This resulted in several missed apexes but paid off in the end. :)

Now I feel kinda bad knowing my 23.6 in Nations Practice was #47 in US/Canada, knowing there was clear room for around a second or so in improvement. Didn't do it due to just flat out forgetting about it after setting one lap. Oof.

I have found that other than personal gratification, and possibly getting a better position on the starting grid, getting top speed for the practice laps mean absolutely nothing. I have seen too many times where a person is incredibly fast, gets the pole then to only be taken out by a divebomber. Being fast only matters if you can get away from the crazy drivers.

Keith.

Where can this information be obtained from?

Oh, man. I had a chance for a 40 last night but got spun out on Lap 3. Really disappointed because I had saved tons of fuel at that point. Then I made a mistake in the last room during qualifying that cost me the pole. Lost too much time and fueld starting from P4 to the Top 2 who worked together from the start to pull away from the field. My saving grace is still scoring a 27 with a 3rd place finish and many of the other Pug Plebs scoring critical banker points.

Nurb GP is likely a no-go so our focus is on Wreckfest central, aka Monza.
