Nah mate... Turn 2! Turn 1 ist the fast left bend.
That's the one I meant. When you try and carry as much speed as possible you get very close to the barrier on the right hand side. The barrier is angled in such a way that the part of it you'll hit will funnel you straight across the track. If someone hits that, everyone behind them is going to suffer.

I don't think so... i hit that barrier myself during practice racing (and i mean i really ****** it up, straight in the barrier). You ghost immediatly. no problem at all (see timestamp 1:46:48 on Tidgney's video). it is more dangerous to lose just a little speed by touching that barrier, because everyone will be flyin' in your trunk.

The 2 chicanes are very concerning... different brake points, different lines... there will be a lot of contact i'm afraid.

It feels like PD are trying to make me buy that Red Bull x2019 again. For anyone who did the daily with it the other week, does it actually make for cleaner racing?

No more or less so than any other car. It's usually the driver that's the issue!

I bought it and have no regrets. It's a fun car to race.

So I thought to myself go on, yeah might as well, and within 2 turns of the warm up had been punted off  and given a 3 second penalty :banghead:. I had a slow qualifying, and hit a couple of cars that span at the start so all in all not the best of starts.:nervous:

Once the race got going however, I soon found it easy to adjust to, and managed to keep it together on softs for the whole 10 laps without spinning out once, and climbing all the way up the grid to finish 6th against a field that had A and B rated drivers when I'm rated C :dunce:, so I got my best result of the season! I also have no regrets, and agree - it is a fun car to race!:D:tup:

In nation's cup started 12th and and finished 3rd with a best lap 6 tenths faster than my qualifying lap. Still need to get good and more consistent in qualifying.

My only worry is Sector 3 with that car. Sooo finicky I might have to switch TC after a couple of laps.

The X2019 is horrible. It had more aero than the X2014 and somehow it understeers and oversteers at the same time. It's a no-stop race so it's going to have no rear end for the last two or three laps. I'm only racing because I have a Scottish Nations Cup livery on it.

It started to go multiple times and I caught it (and i'm on a pad) - the snap oversteer is totally dependent on the amount of throttle you give it (and being on a kerb is asking for it), changing up to 3rd early and only using 2nd in a straight line to get it into the power band worked well for me in the 2nd half of the race. Good luck everyone! And @stpatty rock that livery!

In the manufacturer race, take the inside line for t1 to avoid any penalties, whether overtaking or defending. If there is contact and the car on the outside hits the wall you’re in the clear. And not only that, but the car hitting the wall will pick damage and a 5 second penalty. So just shove your way to the front fellers!
:bowdown:Huzzah for fair penalties

Is this for the left hand kink on the pit straight? Also to all that have participated so far is the Manu race a no stopper?

Riveting stuff from my race at Fuji, happening right now.

The X19 has *less* aero than the X14.

Had some test runs earlier and it’s a no stop all the way.

Lambo doesn’t seem to be great for that, but it’s still much quicker!

Can confirm, qualified 3rd, the pole sitter disappeared at the first attempt, it was hilarious

Can't decide if I should stick or twist. Not bad points for me but the race was very messy and I made a massive error on the opening lap so know I could have done better. Decisions decisions!

Today was decent. I knew I had bad raw pace, so I didn't expect much in qualy, indeed I qualified P14. The race was pretty calm, made some overtakes on the homestretch with the F1's great straight line speed, capitalized on people one-stopping and others getting killed at the hairpin to make up 8 positions and finish 6th. 1543 points, could have been a lot more since there were two disconnects but I'll take it over the risk of running the 1am slot. :)

I may hate Fuji, and I do, but I've now done this twice there, and this is my record points total:

I'd love to give you a detailed race report but I started 6th, survived turn one, then ran away while the two Spaniards behind me apparently spent the race fighting with each other.

Messed up both my first 2 laps at Fuji, which left me with 1 shot to get a lap in. The lap was ok but not brilliant, but still put me relatively high up the grid.
Just about survived lap 1, after that it was a bit of a procession until I made a mistake in the last sector which cost me a position. Nothing much happened after that either but in the end a decent result

In Manufacturers, quali didn't go well I just couldn't put a lap together. Race didn't go much better either, had no confidence and made way too many mistakes, in the end finished midpack

is it clear cut whether it's a 1 stop or no stop race for manufacturers?

with the AMG the only way i can do a no stop is with fuel 6 and then 5 for most of race... going slow as hell.

Same for Nations, well just for saving your race. I got pin balled to the Stratosphere and got zero penalties. Boy was there a lot of red after the race. C/S-D/S. Time for a brew.

My first report here for a while

Avoided the nations cup as did some practise runs and didn't enjoy the combo. Was actually pretty quick but car around Fuji didn't feel good and iv got 10 decent nations scores anyway.

So manufacturers in the citreon. Did a lot of race runs perfecting the best way to use the fuel and had it down pretty good.

Entered race 1 and realised I hadn't ever done a qualifying lap around the track!! Didnt actually go to bad and lined up 12th. Que disaster off a race, passed an alpha into turn 1 but as line was compromised the alpha brushed the rear of my car and wiped out on the barrier giving me an undeserved 5 second penalty then to add insult to injury as was serving penalty(the penalty zone was in a stupid place) got wiped out, spun round, hit wall and another 5 sec penalty lol. Race became a test session

After first race I knew I had good race pace so entered the 2nd entry. This one went much better. Qualified 9th on 3 lap old tyres and immediately moved past 8th at the start. Focused on just managing the fuel at my pace rather than what car in front was doing.

I soon passed the lambo in 7th and as we started lap 6 I realised I was 4th, hadn't even noticed cars pitting. 3rd place merc was clearly struggling and by this point I was only 3.5 seconds off lead. Got the merc on straight starting a lap 8 and took a fine 3rd place for just shy of 2000 points.

It's been a struggle being a citreon driver so far this season but this combo worked well for the car.

Hard to believe 11th in the NA top split. Aliens dropping like flies every lap. A couple out of gas at the end too. Video will be up later. Going to race again, but I don't think I have any chance at hitting 2k points tonight.

I have no idea how people are even keeping that pos red bull car from spinning.

For me it has absolutely horrendous understeer and then snap oversteer, which on a controller is a nightmare to manage.

Plus its at Fuji, the track i hate the most in the entirety of all race tracks, so it's the worst possible race that could be created for me.
