Did around 45 minutes of practice for the Nations Cup. In the S-FR Racing Concept, I did a 1:33, with room to improve. I think it should be enough to guarantee myself a top 10 qualifying in my race, plus, I focus on consistency and defensive driving over trying to match my qualifying pace in the race. I´m quite confident!

Also, I´ve uploaded my livery to GT Sport. I´ll be sharing it in the livery forum soon! :)

Aww, man. PD has the update coming Thursday rather than today(Tuesday). Could have used one of the new cars for Nations. At the least, I could have had a rethink to try it.

Sooo, anyone with a strategy for Fuji Manufacturers race ? Drive deep into the race on the softer tires and then on to the harder compound ? I did 8 laps in the Aston Martin with very worn soft tires (especially of the left side)
I also think you can fuel save so you don’t need to gas up ... hmmmm
:confused::cheers:

Not sure on the strategy just yet. I'll have to run a test lobby tonight to try it out.

Given the, uh... "characteristics of my RCZ Gr.4" (*cough* FF :indiff: *cough*) I had two ideas in mind which could work for most of you too, maybe. Either a one-stop race, fuel saving and with RMs on both stops OR, 💡 a two-stop race, with RS tyres all the race. I don't know, my race will surely be interesting... :nervous:

My strategy for the FF Audi is simple, not running this race. :(

That's a good strategy!
I will still be a brave Peugeot man and have a go at it. What's the worst that could happen?

Also the RCZ Gr.4 has a 111% power boost under BoP with no extra weight added, so that is sure to be interesting. How does the TT react to BoP? @Rods

It has unaltered weight and just a 5% power bump up.

Not enough to convince me to run. Funi sector 3 is basically masochism in FFs, even if you’re disregarding tire life.

Isn’t the rule now that you have to use both compounds ?

I'm not sure. I didn't see a required tyre compound like the last Manufacturers race (which said "Required: RH"). Maybe it will be added later.

I think the TT is lighter than the RCZ, but I am not sure. Also, sector 3 doesn't have the chicane after the Dunlop sign, it's the GT layout. You can clear it with a slight lift of the throttle and it's sure to ease up the tyre wear a little bit at least. If anything, just defend like your life depends on it

It helps a bit, but the last turn is something of a bottleneck, and you just lose so much time through there, I don’t think it’s worth it

This race looks like it'll be very interesting. FFs will have the advantage on the straight but probably have tyre wear issues and run slow on sector 3, the corner-focused cars will push them but fall short on the straight, making for cool battles and also giving room for strategy as well due to the longer race length. I'm excited!

I picked Audi, and my hate for FF cars has grown substantially. I joked about only doing the GR.3 races, but now that's a reality.

That being said, damn I love the R8. It's weird but I like it more since it's been needed.

Yeah sector 3 sucks even without tire wear on, feels like I'm driving on a school zone haha. Props to any FF drivers doing Wednesdays race.

As a Peugeot representative, you bet your back I'm not gonna go down without a fight on Wednesday

If anything, I could increase my rankings a bit more because almost nobody from Peugeot is going to run the race 💡

Well, if you're interested in being the spokesperson for Audi, you have my immediate vote.

The R8 is amazing and the Gr3 races are the only one's I'm interested in. Maybe, just maybe, Dragon Tail Seaside 2 will be alright for the TT.

You guys are lucky over at Audi .
Peugeot has an FF that excels in the straights but the Gr.3 car doesn't excel in anything really. Jack of all trades and a master of none, good for me but it falls short where more specialization is needed.

Finally no more lost of time showing cars before the fia race .
This was also impossible to skip this when checking replays... Good thing.

EDIT: I was looking at japanese training rooms on Fuji thinking we were on wednesday now , 100% sure to race today :lol::lol:
A few minutes ago i've seen that we race in 1 day and we are still on tuesday.:lol::lol:

So i think we will have the same concurents 20 car's show.:banghead::banghead:

Team No Name Lexus made it's Manufacturers Cup Exhibition series debut last night, and I was pleasantly surprised that despite maybe 10 laps on a wet track total prior to qualifying, I managed to qualify 17th and bring the beast home in P8! Lots of intense, close and most importantly, CLEAN racing. Only 2 of the 9 places made were through attrition, the rest were legitimate passes. :D

I decided to stay with Lexus for this season, as I find the cars nice and consistent and suited to my driving style, while not being the fastest out there.

HEY! Did you steal my idea? LOL My GR2 Nissan and GR4 Toyota are yellow no names. Did we per chance race each other one day and you liked the livery or is this a coincidence?

FYI I'm not mad, just curious if you saw my livery and made your own, cause that would be flattering lol

Sorry, was just searching for Canadian-themed ideas one day and came across the No Name and No Frills logos, and thought they could make an interesting livery that other Canadians would find funny and non-Canadians might find confusing.

My Gr4 GT-R really shreds its fronts but it's still better than the RCZ.

It’s pretty popular, and not as obvious as something like Tim Hortons, I’ve raced No Name liveries before as well

I'm in an RC F(soft dampers for the curbs) but I think the Vantage and F-Type will be the best overall. They proved to be the META at Tokyo Expwy. Could both be easy on fuel and tyres.

GT-R has been good to me at Fuji. As well as the Mustang. Will be an interesting race with that many laps. Maybe someone in a Slophy does a no stop :sly:

Great minds think alike I guess haha. pretty much the same for me. For the most part I make my brand liveries around products I actually support and tbh I love most no name products(don't get me going on how much better Pizza Busters are than actual Pilsbury brand!). Even though advertising on a race car probably goes against everything the brand stands for with them being focused on no flashy packaging and no real marketing. But hey, why not!

And a very Canadian sorry as well lol. I was sarcastically joking about the "stealing", I was just curious if I maybe inspired it because that would be cool if I did. I steal livery ideas all the time if I find something I like that isn't on the right car. :)

Someone was talking about the tyres earlier and it was the same thing I noticed the other night... The required tyre in the Manufacturers only shows the medium tyre, not the medium and soft, even though the soft is available.

So presumably you could switch to the medium after qualifying (in that short break before the race starts), and run a medium - medium strategy and save yourself a pitstop?

I was going to go soft - medium - soft to give myself the speed at the start of the race and not get mugged by too many faster cars, and then be fast at the end but Ill have to do a practice run with medium - medium and see how the race time is.

Whether or not we get a penalty for it? idk... it only states that the medium needs to be used.

Alright, now my confidence for the Manufacturers has dropped slightly. J-just ah... veeeery slightly... yeah... :nervous:

I ran some testing for the race on Wednesday. Fuel is no problem for my RCZ Gr.4, but the tyres... hoh... Oh hoh hoh...

I will literally be unable to use the Racing Softs competitively in the race. The Racing Mediums last a whopping 6 laps. By laps 5 and 6 of their stint, I'll be a pretty Peugeot slug hugging the inside of the corners and defending like my life depends on it. :banghead:

I guess you guys warned me! My race is going to be a stretched 2-stop and always on the medium tyre. I'm not sure how you guys' cars stack up on the tyre wear but I'm sure those complaining about their 4Cs and Genesis have it way better off than me in regards to tyre life
