Everybody seemingly forgot how to race in the nations, best bit was someone tried going round the outside of me at a corner and then blamed me for them not giving me any space?? I could do literally nothing idiots. Also a screw you to the guy who kept bumping my side, crashing giving me a 5 second penalty.

My brake pedal is like full on broken, massive fluctuations, but I need 2 scores for this season and can't race Christmas Day, so I have to race today... :grumpy:

That was a tough race. With so many pit strategies you can’t really tell what position you’re in until around 5 laps to go!
Was optimistic about the race after putting in some quick lap times in practice. Tire wear is just nasty with the Lamborghini though so qualified 10th. Got bogged down in the midfield scrap for a while and didn’t really get into a proper rhythm until after people started taking their pit stops leaving the track clear. I started on hards as knew softs would be wasted in traffic.

Once is enough round that track so will stick with 8th and call it a night :)

Seems like the horror stories I am hearing about Tsukuba only serve to confirm that starting from the back is a good idea.

Manufacturers went better than the nations dispute 2 random penalties for no apparent reason even after looking at the replay up 6 places, would have been 7 if not for a last lap dive bomb played of as 4WD advantage by the guilty party:confused::confused:. Had an idea for a special livery for my last round with Ferrari at Laguna Seca.

Finally a decent result in Manu. CSA region, this time I was down in the third split due to my recent subpar performances. Managed to grab second at the line because the guy in front got a tire penalty. An uneventful and clean race where my H/M/M strategy seemed to pay off after qualifying sixth.

Did a manf race last night with the vette, had about 8 minutes practice which was with the mediums, qually was my practice with the softs, did some sort of 57 sec lap started 18th,

started with softs took it easy, watched people rape there tyres made a couple spots up coming out of slow left hander, people started pitting hell early, not many caught back up until around lap 15≈ was around 9th pitted on lap 17 to hards came out 11th finished on the back of 10th,

got a 5 second penalty somewhere in the middle as a Renault had a massive tank slapper in front of me and I plowed through him as he was about to face the wrong way going across the track.. Solid racing tho

The Alfa was good at Tsukuba, I picked up a penalty on lap 4 not sure if it has me or the other guy that caused it. I made a perfectly reasonable lunge down the inside of the last corner, rubbed a little but then he nudged into me twice down the start finish straight. I got a penalty as I turned into the first corner. Not sure if it was my actions or his that gave it to me?
Action starts at 21:45

was this really my fault?

Once out of traffic the rest of my race went well. I made a pass on the last corner of the last lap to finish 4th, I got third in the end after one of the guys in front got a penalty for not using hard tyres. Despite the penalty this was a great race for me, the last lap was intense.

Had a go at both races tonight. I Qualified 17th and ran 13h,6s,6s at Tsukuba. But in hindsight I probably should have just grabbed another set of Hards and only stopped the one time. It was still a fun race though, had a pretty good battle with the only other GTR in the race for a while. :)

Nations started a little better, Qualified 3rd but fell back to 5th before we got to T2. Then a couple on incidents with the sausage curbs in the chicane put me way back. I made back a few positions in the end though and overall it wasn’t a bad race. :)

I raced Nations cup last night. Im a C/D driver Low B at best. Set a lap for 1:31:1xx I had racepace for 1:32 in training but in quali i messed up 5 laps so my Qualytime was 1:34:xxx

Race was a mess. Started 11th got pushed off 3 Times on the first lap. 2 more Times on the second lap. Divebombed in every corner. Pushed off some more further in The race.
I guess people cant race without ramming...
I was the only one in The race without a penalty. Lost about 1000 in DR.
First time i raced FIA races and probably the last time...

I had a clean fight with one driver toward the end of the race but my tires were bad. Couldnt keep the backend from slipping in The fast corners.

Raced a daily afterward and had a side by side race with someone for two laps without any contact. Massive fin unlike the FIA race!

I'm not sure it's even worth trying to analyse how the new penalty system works. I'm just glad I'd already decided to finish for this season, hopefully they'll sort it out in the next update or sooner. In Nations top split, Kie showed an incident in the replay where a car braked much too late and smashed into someone from behind, and the car they hit got a 10 second penalty. There was another incident where someone got a penalty when they overtook a car that was serving a penalty, apparently everyone else is now supposed to remain behind a car while it serves a penalty.

Last Night's Races:

Yep. "You got hit from behind? Penalty"
.

This kind of things yes. Also a car bump me strong at the apex of the dragon garden 's hairpin , so hard that he send me on the grass , but didn't take any penalty for this.

Anyway , all all rest was very fun. Love this track.

Going into last night's Manufacturers race, I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a decent result in the Citroen. The last two races didn't work out as well as the first, and I struggled for some time to get a good feel for the car in Free Practice. However, I later found out through a couple of test races that the Citroen handled much better in lobby conditions than in FP, and after being away for the day decided to enter the 21:00 slot as usual.

Entered the lobby as the only Citroen representative, among an entry list containing five Mercs and three F-Types. There was also an Alfa which dropped out before the warm-up session; a shame, since it would've been interesting to see how the two MR cars would've compared in race conditions. Anyway, had a quiet, but solid qualifying session, clocking my first lap in at 56.663 seconds. While I could not do any better, that time was still good enough for me to start 5th. Pole was set by a BTCC-liveried Subaru, with a McLaren and an NSX not far behind.

Strategy-wise, I settled on a two-stop which worked well for me in the second test lobby I did (8S, 8S, 9H). The aim was to build up as much of a gap as possible between myself and cars further back, and initially this worked well as I followed the slipstream train for the lead. Over the first few laps, the Subaru loses time and a few places, eventually causes the Honda, the first Merc and myself to bunch up together alongside the two Jags behind. I later found out that he was on a one-stopper (Hards to Softs), so his drop-off was inevitable against the other Soft-shod runners. On Lap 4, I try to defend my inside line from the first Jag, all while gaining a run on the Merc on the run into Turn 1. The Merc covers the inside as I instinctively try to make a pass; the result is that I take to the grass and lightly biff him mid-turn. Immediately, I knew that the move wasn't on, so backed out to let the Merc keep position, in turn allowing the Jags an opportunity to pass me up into 5th and 6th. This still ensured that I was at the tail of the train for 3rd, and for a while I was considering staying out longer before my first stop as the tyres were holding out well. Had an opportunity to pass the grey Jag when he pushed the Subaru wide at Turn 1 on Lap 7, but decided against making it stick to make sure we both had room to go through the esses.

While I still considered staying out, I decided to pit in on Lap 8 as planned, having seen the McLaren come in on my HUD and considering it a good opportunity to jump the pack. On Lap 10, I stuck a clean move around the outside of a Ferrari at Turn 7, then proceeded to draw in another for what now became a battle for 4th. It took me a good few laps to get past the second Ferrari, all while being drawn in by the orange Jag, but I eventually did so when he finally pitted on a one-stopper. My Softs still felt good as I climbed up to 3rd (the Subaru having pitted on Lap 13) and began to pull away from the Jag again. Upon pitting for the second and last time, I expected to lose quite a bit of pace on Hards, but it still felt like a good challenge trying to defend 6th from the black Ferrari and orange Jag. Both get their moves done at Turn 1, and I focus on getting the Citroen home in what is shaping up to be a good top 10 finish. By Lap 20, the Ferrari begins to struggle on his well-worn Mediums, losing 6th to the Jag and more time as I hammer in a pair of low-58 laps. The grey Jag, fresh from his final stop, begins to get close to my diffuser. Two laps from the end, I get a better run on the Ferrari through Turn 12, out-braking him into Turn 1 and reclaiming 6th to the flag; a lap-long scrap from behind sees the Jag do the same on the last tour. Meanwhile, the Subaru - who I initially thought would struggle massively with tyre wear going into this - goes on to win by a near 3-second advantage over the NSX!

After the mediocracy of Maggiore, I'm glad to have scored well in Manufacturers again. 208 points and the honour of being Citroen's highest scorer of the meeting propel me up to provisional 7th for the manufacturer and 241st in EMEA, which has opened up the opportunity to boost my rankings in the last two rounds should I commit to them. Even if I don't, it's been great getting at least one good result in both variants so far.

I was one of the few that actually liked the Nations combo. Mainly because I had solid pace and it looked liked it would reward consistency above all else. Not a great q (what else is new) but everything fell into place rather quickly.

Did Manu twice. Discovered more time after a messy first attempt. Tried starting on hards and got railroaded backwards. Don't think the end result would've changed anyways.

Did a first Manufacturer race for a while, the Ferrari drove quite nicely.
Started 13th finished 9th after some feisty DR-B/SR-S shenanigans.

Not as painful as I thought it would be.

So, strats for Christmas day racing look like this:

Nations: After trying out multiple cars, the BMW M4 seems to be a comfortable choice for me. Not too tail happy and with some smooth driving (at least in my hands) isn't too harsh with Tire Wear as the time loss wasn't all that huge. When I pitted for Mediums on Lap 12, I was catching someone in the 2001 911 GT3 (who hadn't pitted yet) and just on the first lap out, chopped off two seconds, then manage to cut down 4-5 seconds, effectively being only a car length behind them going into the final corner. So a 1 stopper from Hards to Mediums on Lap 12 looks to be the way to go for me.

Manufacturers: For once, I can actually use the car and not have to tip toe. From the incredibly close race I just had, a One stopper is a no brainer but with a twist: Fuel actually matters this time so take it when you can. Forgot to take some myself during that stop and if I hadn't cranked up the Fuel to 5 for two laps (In the Lexus of all cars), I would've had a bad race (which I completed with just 0.1 in the tank.). Starting on Hards and pitting on Lap 6 for Mediums (and some fuel) is the direction for this one.

I was TPC_Smegip, on my Alt account. :)

Ohh so that was you I was have a dual with around the mid part of the race. Good stuff
