I didnt enjoy the nations race much. Wasn’t too dirty but impossible to recover once you met that one dirty guy. Lol.

no tire changes made it even harder to fight back.

Hello, I did my first ever guide for the Dragon Trail Gardens II track after clocking a 1:32:2 that I was pretty pleased with.
The lap felt very fast at points, but some smaller things should be able to yield perhaps another 0.3
I should be able to get under 1:32 with some more practice.
Let me know what you think as this is the first time I do one. Appreciate pointers on the driving too.
The actual lap starts at 0:55.

This is my first time racing in the FIAs. Quick points question: After my first race I finished 12th and got 18 points. My second race, I finished 16th and now my points show 13. Did I lose points in my second race? For some reason I thought it would either be cumulative or best finish.

You only get points from your last finish.

Snuck in one race for Manufacturer's before I have to fly overseas tonight. Was mostly fighting for third and holding on to it but I made a few minor, silly mistakes that nudged me down to fifth place.

never really raced much on DT seaside ii. just didnt really like it much. went out in the main (chaotic) group and somehow qualified 6th. in the race on lap 1 i got a big punt in t3 and found myself in 17th, managed to finish in 6th or 7th, cant remember... but had an awesome battle with the guy behind for about 8 laps. lots of passing, all totally clean. except when i had to pit i just jammed across his front bumper and took him in with me, which as it happens he didnt even care about. anyway, don't mind this track at all now. wouldnt mind a few more races tonight but i got a decent amount of points so dont want to risk it. shame really.

Had a pretty fun Nations race last night, first slot, mixed lobby with a few A+ and the rest A/S. I’m guessing it was 3rd split. Qualified 4th on a mediocre lap for me, so I knew I had the pace to do well. I did find myself in the lead for a few laps until I outbraked myself into T1 and lost P1, then I turned in too early under pressure into T2 and got a penalty, losing P2. Finished in P3 and decided to call it a night and move on to some daily races. I really enjoyed driving the Porsche instead of the SFR for a change.

Get in there Lewis! Finally my first FIA win, triple star! Room wasn't the most stacked but i'll take it, i'll gladly trade up some points for a maiden victory. the boost to my self-esteem is probably more helpful at this point :D Tried to play the 2nd slot, got DC'ed on the loading screen, 3rd slot got a pen on the flying lap and got murdered on the mid pack in race, went from 9th to last to 11th. Finally sorted it out on the next slot by getting pole and breaking the slipstream on the first lap. Judging by the streams i had pace for a top 3 on the second slot or a win on the third slot which would net me many more points, but eh, it's all good, it's really important to focus on qualifying well on those 1/2 flying laps and i'm getting the hang of it. Cheers

Good race for Chevrolet at a circuit I didn't expect to suit the car but did. Qualified P7 and after a small mistake at T3-6 dropped 2 positions to 9th made my back up to 3rd at the end of my first stint pitting lap 6 and gained 1.5 seconds to the Hyundai behind. The Hyundai pitted a lap later and started making gains in the second half of the race passing me(rather irritatingly) on the last lap. Finished 4th overall after starting P7 and being in P9 at one point is a good result for me.

Edit: really liking the Gr3 Corvette so far and seems to suit my driving style on a pad nicely.

Just did Manufacturers 4pm slot at SR99. I'm fairly sure all contact penalties had been switched off as there was A LOT of contact and I only saw shortcut penalties. It was an utterly disgraceful race to be involved in. I'll upload some highlights later.
Finished 10th. I'll take it. Not feeling it at the moment

EDIT Watched the replay and contact penalties were out to play, just not for anything around me or hitting me. They were just completely random. I was barge passed multiple times and knocked off track twice, all going completely unpunished. Ah well, at least I wasn't hit with anything this time.

Just done 1st race of the evening at DT Garden 2. Wasn't expecting too much as I spent the day lapping & my fastest was .33, spent a bit time in a lobby too trying to pick up my pace, not much success there either, ha.
Messed qualification up, so started 13. Played it cool on the 1st lap, avoiding spinning cars and dive bombers, picked up 5 places so not too bad. Lap 3 I had to brake slightly harder to avoid an incident at T1-2, got rear ended, hit car in front and pushed him off line, messed up my rhythm a bit, so ended up having to let faster drivers through instead of defending and making them work for it.
Ended race 3 positions up and SR back to 99, lost 50 DR points even though I was 1 place higher than car number.
Fraught but enjoyable, and mainly clean racing from what I saw.
I did try to let a top qualifier past in the wrong place, hairpin instead if waiting for the straight, lesson learnt on my part.

I feel for anyone taking part in this FIA season. Twitter is littered with clips of ridiculous penalties, and even some sketchy behavior in top splits. It seems like everything has gone to 🤬 in this game.

It'll be interesting to see if PD tries to fix the penalty system, or revert it to the previous. It's only a matter of time before the FIA races start to count, so they've kind of backed themselves in to a corner with this.

Best of luck everyone!

Yup. The penalty system is not up to the task of sanctioning FIA races in its current state. This has to be adressed in the next update at the latest.
In my manu race today you pretty much got punished for fair driving, it was utterly ridiculous.

No, contact penalties are still on and just as messed up, at least for the dailies. I just did a Race B and L1 T1 I get punted from behind and sent off track, I make contact with someone on my way off track. I get a 1 sec penalty, the guy I hit gets a 3 sec penalty. The guy that hit me and started all the carnage gets nothing. Still a POS system today like it was yesterday.

Just did the 18:20 race. Didn’t feel any rhythm in my practice before but went for it anyway. Didn’t manage to set a qt time all. Ppl racing me for pos and managed to get a penalty. There wasn’t time to get new tires and do a second try. So annoying. I don’t understand how ppl manage to find space to do a lap in qt.

Anyway, started last on hards and took it careful. Ended up 8th. Very pleased. But I will give it another go. Not starting last should be able to give me a nicer pos. will a second run undo my first result no matter the outcome or is it best that counts?

It's you last race that counts. I found that out the hard way last night. First race I finish 12th w/ 18 pts. 2nd race 16th w/ 13 points. 3rd race 11th w/ 12 pts. I now have 12 pts in the Nations Cup.

Why did you get less for a better pos in the last race? Dif competition?

edit: I’m going for it. Down to 1:32.2 now in practice. That’s half a second faster than fastest lap in the previous race.

edit 2: I got 33p in first race. That’s what’s at stake :)

Doing some extra free practice today and managed to bring my best lap down to 1:31.16 in the M6.

Did a simulate race on mediums with no stop. Tires were down to 50% or less.... my strategy for today’s races is one stop.

Anyone ballsy enough that went without stopping?

EDIT: lap down to 1:31.08

Qualified first. Let’s see if my nerves are ok :]
Gon do hard/medium 1 stop around lap 8
Why not Medium/Medium ? I think that is what everyone is doing. There is not mandatory tire.

Is it completely random if the lobby is top tier or not ? I.e. is the first lobby of the day the easiest and the last the hardest ?

Keep us updated. Now, I feel invested in this!
Lol okay! I just posted when I was all worked up. Spoiler is I ****ed up. But I’ll share the evidence :)
First corner I blow it totally and even end some poor 911 when rejoining ( didn’t have control )Then I make several mistakes and end up 15th briefly.

I decided not to pit at all. Even though tires lasted well and I kept a .34 pace I made a few more mistakes when them tires started to go off even little. In the end some Peugeot tapped me out of the hairpin and didn’t give back pos so I ended up in 7th with 37p. Only one pos better than when I started last *sigh*.

lobby feels like total random. I’m glad it was all SR S at least. For tires I wanted to go hards first. I’m not good with worn tires but I can keep them alive decently. But 7 laps on mediums would have probably spun me more than once. In the end it wasn’t bad doing a no stopper on hard. Just my own mistakes.

I’m planning go go Medium/Medium and stop at the end of lap 7 for this one. Got the practice time down to 30.7, but my best in (practice)race lap so far has been a 31.4. :)
I did go mediums with 1 stop on lap 6 now. Wasn’t bad at all. Only drivers fault here.

Qt 2nd which I blew on lap 9, after setting fastest lap on lap 8. Lost concentration totally since I didn’t believe I’d gone fast haha. Ended up 6th with 40p in the end. So I’ve done 3 races today
Start 20th, end 8th, 33p
Start 1st, end 7th, 37p
Start 2nd, end 6th, 40p

sooo consistent... not going again.

The points depend on the average lobby DR, specifically.
Indeed, but most specifically it's actually the mean. "Average" could be median (the value closest to the middle value) or mode (most common single value) - or in fact quite a few other statistical operators - but it's the mean, which is the total DR divided by the number of participants.

Also, when did all the A+ drivers start representing Mazda? I've been driving Mazdas before it was cool. Glory hunters.

Had my best qualification in long time, coming in 3rd. Was aiming for a top 10 so was very happy!! :)

Race was going fine, even after making a mistake at the 3rd corner of lap 1 and losing a position, was comfortable in 4th. Pitted on lap 7 and came back out in 4th. Lap 9 didn’t get the best exit out the hairpin and the 2 cars behind slowly caught up down the straight. They pulled either side of me like s sandwich and brushed the back of my car. Race decided I’d done something wrong and gave me a 4 second penalty for absolutely nothing. Ruined my race  Ended up 6th. Would have been my best result in ages :guilty:
