Well manu was 5 slots of ups and downs I either qualified rubbish and had a decent race or qualified brilliant and had a race ruined by idiots .
Slot 5 it all came together thou qualified 4th in a decent lobby then held 4th till the 1st pits I went M8/H4/S6 in the jag
Would of finished 3rd if it wasn’t for a 2 second penalty I received from the merc who finished 3rd hitting me at turn 4 .

Round 4 hot laps

No one is actually going to take that chicane as aggressively as PR1_Fire does in a race, right? Hotlapping is funny sometimes, haha. He's obviously a truly exceptional driver, but he had to eat it a few times trying, right?

In the top splits they will be, I was watching Kie’s stream last night and they were all doing it. It’s the only way to keep the pace up. :)

Bit late with this but anyway, did first slot of manufacturers last time out. My quali lap was poor and I started near the back but a good lap wouldn't have made a big difference anyway. Managed to avoid an incident before T4 and after that was just about driving my own race. Went with a 2 stop but probably should've switched to a 3 when I was in the middle of a pack on lap 8. The last few laps was in a battle for 8th, I was catching some hard runners but people were also catching from behind. In the end probably not an amazing result on the face of it but relatively happy with it considering where I started and my relative pace.
Also well done to @Lost Sheltie on his drive.

Few thoughts on the nations Gr1 race...

Had a nations lobby race last night to test out conditions. Qualifying time for me was 2s off personal best (119.9 vs 117.8 with the RS18 +2 BB). Raced against some A+/S drivers (split equally between RS18 and TS050) and P1 qual was low 117. Race FL was around 118 flat. First race, I ran 6S/6M/6S+fuel. Medium times were consistently 2-3s off soft time which made me want to switch out early. Second race, I ran 6s/8M/4s+fuel (may have been 5/8/5+fuel). Got more out of the mediums this go around. Top racers in the group were thinking 8S/10M would be faster than two pit. Being on a pad myself, I imagine tire wear would be more dramatic vs wheel.

Raced again tonight with TSO50 on DS4. Started on Soft. BB -4 then -5 near end of stint. Pit after 8 for Medium. BB -3. Each lap to end was mid 120. Qual time was 119 flat I think. Finished at 24:38. DR around 18k. FL for me was 119.7

If you're thinking of driving anything other than the 3 new hybrid LMPs, don't! I yolo picked the Tomahawk. Someone in front of me went off at the hairpin into the kitty litter, I passed them, and before we even get to the esses he had already repassed me again thanks to the hybrid boost  It's fast in the first sweeper and the esses, but you can't pass in those sections. Most of the laptime on this track comes from getting good exits from the 3 slow corners (triple chicane, hairpin and last double left hander) and the hybrids curbstomps there.

Surprisingly the mediums on low fuel isn't that much slower than softs on high fuel. Most people do even split 9/9 or 8/10 (I've seen both long soft/medium stints). The best strategy just depends on your starting position and traffic situation in the race. The guy in 1st place was so dominant though, he had enough gap to pit a second time for softs and set the fastest lap, a 1:15  Oh and no need to fuel save in the hybrids, the time loss saving is greater than the fuel stop.

Apart from that, a well known alien again showed masterclass in how to use your car as a battering ram. Racked up a staggering 16 seconds of penalties before the first lap is half done. Mate, if you're reading this, you know you're better than that. Might be worth taking some time off racing in general to get you back in the right headspace again 👍

I was running 2nd in this race about 1 second behind the leader before belting the sausage kerb and putting it in the fence. A little annoying but regrouped to finish P3 in the next race. I didn't practice much before today and have never liked DT Gardens, but ended up liking this combination... not sure about that kerb though.

The dirty air effect wasn't terrible here, but it was enough to make you realise when you were chewing up your tyres when following another car within slipstream range.

I will go in the 919. Was planning to stay out this weekend, but I managed a 1.17.1 and several laps under 1.18 in a short 20 minutes time trial session (after viewing one of the top10 replays) and I think I have chances to get a decent result and improve the 72 points I got with the F50.

I also thought I will skip Manufacturer race on Sunday, but I can manage to control the 458 in time trial environment. I am beginning to think that only serious issues I have with the Gr.3 458 is on bumpy terrain - like it was at Interlagos.

As soon as the races for the 1st part of the official season are released, I will do some time trial testing on the tracks. I am not saying yet goodbye to Ferrari...

As I said before, I was about to skip this race, but the short time trial session in the morning changed my mind. So I decided to go with the 919, created a black-green-white livery for it and off we go.

Quali was good, left myself space for two fast laps and it was a good idea, as I binned the first in the S after the hairpin. Send lap was a good one, and with 1.18.890 I was only 0.010s behind the pole.

So, started P2 and went for Softs to try and use the dirty air in my favour and put a gap to the people behind. Pole and P3, Turkish drivers in R18. At the first run through the chicane, I was punted from behind by the Turkish and lost the rear - only option was either spin or hit him and hope that I manage to point it to the right direction. As he was the punter, I risk and hit him sideways and managed to get it going. Sorry mate, but it was your fault in this. He spun completely...

Only lost 1 position, I was in P3, 5 seconds behind the leader and 2s behind P2. Behind me, there was a Spaniard in another 919. First stint was without any drama, kept the same pace and pitted at the end of lap 8 for mediums and fuel. Got back in P4 - 7s behind P3 and 8s in front of a Finnish who was gaining almost 7-8 tenths a lap. Got to 3rd after one lap after the driver in front pitted and then we were in the same formation as in the first stint.

The guy behind pitted in lap12 so I had a nice advantage in front of P4 and my only focus was getting good clean laps. End of lap 13, the Italian in front pits for Softs and he gets out 1.5s behind me. He lose it at the chicane and I am now P2 with a nice 6s gap. The leader is 12s in front, so my focus is again clean laps as I don't have any chance to catch him. The Italian behind pushes and starts to close the gap as he has the tire advantage. Some small mistakes makes me lose 2s and he's on me at the beginning of last lap. I have no chance to defend it, and I keep it close without risking and take the 3rd place. 95 points - so a nice increase from the 72 in the 3rd round.

That's one and done for me.
The only practice I got was a race distance in a lobby to see how the tires behaved and to learn the track/car combo. So no real expectations to be honest.
Went with the Toyota as most in my race did. Qualifying went ok-ish, but only P11.
In the first lap, two people got caught out by the chicane of death, so already up to P9. Unfortunately picked up a 0.5 second penalty too as I couldn't see the apex of the chicane with the car in front of me and I cut it a bit. Overtook one and another one lost it out of the hairpin so up to P7 already.
That's also the position I stayed at pretty much throughout the race. Did 9 laps on mediums and then another 9 laps on softs without refuelling.
As someone else in front had a spin and the chicane I got up to P6.

223 points! Would've loved to go again but since that's almost 100 points more than the last race I'll let it stay there and don't want to risk it.

After a disastrous first race in the Porsche I went for a second attempt in the Toyota as it's better on fuel, tyres and feels more agile in sector 2. Lap 1 didn't go to plan as I got collected by a spinning car that dropped me to plum last. Pitting on lap 9 for medium tyres managed to climb to P10 by the last lap. Got shoved wide at the exit of the chicane by some moron behind effectively leaving me finishing P13 at the end, still not a bad result considering the first lap and what was effectively a recovery race.

Nations Round 4
This was a really good round! Took the Toyota 050 out like the majority after finding I could get it home without taking on any fuel with some mild shortshifting.

Qualifying was fantastic, putting in a solid P2, about two tenths behind pole. When the race began I started on the Mediums with the intention of going 6M/6S/6S after finding out my pace was much better that way in practice. However, the dirty air and being surrounded by drivers on Softs made it a very difficult stint. I'd fallen back to P8 by lap 5, but was back up to P5 when I entered the pits due to errors from the drivers in front on lap 6.

Once the Softs were on, I started pushing. The pole sitter pitted at the end of lap 7 for Mediums, and I caught up with him and was breathing down his neck on lap 10. However, with the dirty air and worn Softs I couldn't find an opportunity to get past. I pit for more Softs on lap 12, emerge in P2 due to the 7 second gap behind and then start charging forward, taking huge chunks out of his lead each lap.

I don't know if the leader was planning a 2-stop or not, but he pit again on lap 14, giving me the lead. But now the roles were reversed, as he started charging me down on the fresh tyres whilst mine were starting to get past their best.

It culminated in me making a mistake and sliding at the final hairpin on the last lap and he snuck past to take the win. I felt a bit gutted to lose it that close to the end, but that was a fantastic race. I'm still over the moon with the P2 for 135 points, my best result to date.

Even more importantly, that tipped me over the 30k DR barrier - I've made it to rank A.

Time to get destroyed in Tokyo tomorrow.

Did 2nd slot of Nations today. My quali lap was a couple of tenths off what I did in practice and that put me midpack. Started on softs and survived the start but on lap was hit at the hairpin which dropped me way down the field. Ended up doing a 2 stop and managed to recover to a couple of places above where I started but that race felt like a missed opportunity for me.

Only had time for the 4pm GMT run today, qualy was a bit rough. Was running 1.16's on softs in practice, long story short ended up with a 1.19 and p14. First lap a few binned it in the dirty air early on up to p9, gain a few more positions midway through lap 2 and get absolutely blasted into smithereens by an Italian in the hairpin. p17 finish :guilty: Fun little combo that Gr.1 on DT Gardens.

I am a fan of Toyota irl and want to stick with that brand in the game. I’m torn though, what would be better over a season in gr3, Supra or FT1?

Or would Lexus be a better option? I do like the Gr4 RCF better than the 86 but I wouldn’t be unhappy with either of them.

When I spotted this Gr. 1 DT combo on the calendar it definitely stuck out and I wanted to at least see what the car/track combo was like, ended up really enjoying blasting the TS050 around this track and took two runs at the race.

The first I really surprised myself by qualifying 6th and having stable internet. Quali has always been a weak point for me so it was refreshing that I was able to have decent pace for the room I was matched up in, staying calm and just finding space to thrash a lap in.

That race went OK but on lap 16 I got caught up in the wall on the many-apexed God and lost out three places from 6th, falling off the lead group and back to 10th, from where I only recovered one spot.

But my internet felt real good and I'd really enjoyed the race despite that so I resolved to go again in the last slot, this time improving my grid slot by one to P5 with another solid quali, which I'm very pleased with myself about.

The race was a good one this time despite some lag early on, I dropped back at the beginning as my tactic was to fuel save a little to avoid having to refuel in the pits as I'd read in this thread. Despite this I was able to climb back up and into 4th relatively quickly.

The Frenchman in 3rd pitted lap 5 which I feel was a mistake as I was ahead of him when I came out on 6. Popped out in a bit of traffic and it got a bit wild, I picked up a 2s penalty for an altercation with a very aggressive German who had been hitting quite a few of the drivers. I tried to give him a wide birth but I don't think he'd pitted and the fresh mediums had me on much faster pace than him, I pushed him a little wide coming a little hot into a little bit too brave divebomb into the hairpin. He tried to retaliate, which was what really ruined his race.

At this point I was closing on the Spaniard in P3 rapidly, electing to take a lap flat out to stay in slipstream range. The penalty didn't hurt too much and I was able to close the gap by staying out a lap longer on the mediums, pitting on lap 13 for softs and a safety dribble of fuel, inheriting P3 and coming out in clean air.

The two in front were way ahead, having qualified pretty clear from the field but .001 from each other. Unfortunately, one of them disconnected around lap 16, but I was happy to inherit P2 for my first FIA podium finish, with a haul of 52 points. B/S ranking.

Looking at the replay, I was one of only three cars not using TCS.

1st slot of Nations, started 3rd (and set a qualy time exactly identical to the guy who started 4th), and finished 4th. Basically, pole and 2nd qualifier swapped spots, and me and the person who qualified 4th swapped spots . The guy who finished 3rd did a 2-stopper, and I believe the winner did as well. I decided to do a 10M/8S strategy. I was right on 3rd-places bumper for several laps at the end, but couldn't ever get close enough to affect a pass, and eventually ran wide on the exit of the chicane trying ANYTHING to set up a pass on the last lap.

I might've been able to actually finish in 3rd place myself if it wasn't for ANOTHER stupid contact penalty. After he'd already pitted, the guy I was fighting for 3rd caught me pretty quickly, and going through the 4-apexer, he was on my inside and we slightly bumped on the exit. Neither of us lost anything, and he was already slightly ahead by that point anyway, but I get a 1s penalty :banghead::mad:?? Anyway in spite of this game's tendency to be a dumb:censored:, I finished 4th and got 179 points, which ties my best points score since the game switched to these lower points totals.
