Nations was a disaster. Thanks to the tips the people gave me over at the coaching thread I was able to dip into the 1:32s in FP, beating my old time by over 6/10ths. This didn't translate well into qualifying though, as I was only able to best my practice time with fuel load by 2/10ths. That time was my banker lap using the old line I got used to, since my 2 flyer laps with the new line flopped horribly. Ugh, I really need more time to practice...

Anyway, my time was a 1:33.6xx, good for 11th on the grid. I know the FT-1 horribly lacks in power, so I forced the person behind me to try to go to the outside. Didn't really work, but okay ny car has enough agility to keep myself on the outside. Coming into the esses side-by-side he backed out coming into the second corner. That's great and all, but now the rest of the pack catched up to us. Nice Cipher

Fast forward to the chicane, I got one-upped by a Supra on the outside, and a Beetle on the inside. Beautiful move, but it lost me another 2 positions. Going into the chicanes I went wide, tried to rejoin, but I spun. Now I'm in dead last. I'm quite frustrated at this point, but eh, I need the points I can get, so I just went into a rhythm and was constantly lapping mid-1:34 times. Not great, but apparently it was enough to catch up to 3 people and overtake them. I used the conventional pit strategy, since two-stops nor undercuts won't really work when you're so far from the field. I still did some fuel saving, so I did get another extra position. On the second half of the stint I started pumping out high-1:33 laps, and now suddenly I'm in contention for the midfield since I'm catching up to them by over 2/10ths a lap. Alas, it was not enough, and the race finally finished with me in 15th, the midfield heartbreakingly close, only having gained another position from a player who didn't serve their penalty.

Onto the Manu Cup then, which I expect to do worse

Have you thought about skipping the Manufacturer race? It won't help to lose more DR points and be placed in lower rooms for the remaining races. I only have time to do the Manufacturer series, but not going anywhere near today's race.

Haha, too late. It honestly went so much better than I expected. I qualified 11th, and then finished 8th. Nothing quite spectacular really happened, just a normal race. 1486 points, I'm taking it :)
My DR also went up a bit to lessen the blow from Nations

Damn, i fell a little dirty after the Man. cup at Tokyo; incredibly at P12 with the 4C I found a Viper behind me, much faster than me, in the final stretch, I wiggle a little to simulate a change of direction, but he "fell" for it, a little touch and he went against the wall :( Fell so dirty :( He was, of course pissed, and he yellled, in the right, NOOB at me :grumpy: Got 13th place (1 second penalty at the last second for that) and 591 points, still better than nothing :indiff:

Nothing to say in the Nations cup, got 777 points out of that

Alright Europe time, Im coming for that Nations P1 ;)

EDIT: @TRL LIGHTNING This man stole P1 from me call the police

Jk, Great race mate! :D

Sure you got Kaz on speed dial by now. Could phone him up instead? Surely though @TRL LIGHTNING is faster than literal lightning. So no harm done.

Second FIA Nations race - second epic fail. My race was ruined by some ****ing asshole who I guess does not make a difference between the gas and brake pedal on Yamagiwa's chicane... lost plenty of DR and points... If PD wants to go eSports or even close to it my suggestion would be to have stewards on those official races because people like the one who messed me up finished on a good position and gained points without being punished enough, not to mention that the report function is nothing but a dropdown with two options which gets submitted to the garbage.

Ran decently in the Nations race in my GT-R after qualifying 10th. Was fighting for a top 4 with another GT-R which caused me to make mistakes and drop to 8th.

I have an issue with qualifying. Someone braked in front of me at the start of the straight in my hotlap. Qualified 5 (1,5sec slower then my PB).
Then i was pushed to the grass on the first lap and rammed couple of times in the last corner. finished 12. Race stuff happens but in qualy slow cars should be hosted or waved some flags

In the Nations Cup race i (DR Mid A/SR S) i got matched with A+/S and A/S. Chose my Jag for practice for Manufactureres Cup. Only got last in qualy (P17). But i drove a clean race and held together and got P9 at the end. A nice point haul of 1006 for me!
Total now: 1891 Points

In the Tokyo Manu Cup race i made an error. I qualified on P3 in a A/S only lobby with the Jag, braked late into T1 and got the lead. I held it together until the pitstop. I changed tires but pressed twice and didn't get any fuel. :banghead:
So next lap, i had to do another pitstop.. Lost the lead of course, but still managed to get P4. Surely a costly error, but i can't complain for getting 1333 points!
Total now: 1659 Points

BTW: Anyone else drives with the gamepad in DR A or even A+?

Made a mistake in Nations cost me a few hundred points at least no blue screen this week... Although I just tried out practice mode for Manufacturers and there's literally 0 point in me entering the race... the car is 2 seconds a lap off the pace (I nailed my perfect lap in it) and that's without tyre wear... with tyre wear being FWD it'll be even further off! I would have thought the FWD cars should have an advantage as they can't do corners, but apparently they can't do straights either so I guess no group 4 manufacturer races for me lol. This first season has been atrocious for me, need to get into the swing of things again, feel like I've lost the plot..

I don't think 10th place has ever felt so much like a victory in my life. There were 2 VW's in my manufacturers race at Tokyo tonight, and we qualified 19th and 20th (I was 20th). In the race I had a Merc pass me when he started the straight 1.3 seconds behind, yet I still managed to beat him by not making any mistakes in the twisty stuff.

Note to self: Never use VW Scirocco on any power tracks ever again

In the nations I had a nice solid race to pick up 2nd, guy in 1st was simply too fast for me, so kept it clean and managed to jump the guy ahead of me at the pits and pull a seconds gap that I held until the end.

2 races, no massive mistakes, 2 decent results. I am going to have a beer :)

Well I just finished my races for the championship here's my report:

Nations Cup

Kyoto Driving Park Yamigawa circuit I had a pretty good race no real drama with the other racers but furious at the very nasty
tactic by 4th place.

Did well for the first 7 laps was holding 4th place and no mistakes though struggling a bit for tire wear.

Pitted lap 7 as planned and got new boots and dropped way down but by the end of Lap 7 I was back up in 4th place and 3rd place went in a lap later at Lap 9 so was up to 3rd.

All was going well and holding off a Lancer in 4th but then he got alongside on the straight at start of Lap 12 and did a nasty
tactic of sticking the back of his car against mine which made it spin out and I ended up down in 8th.

It also said he never had any penalties in the race but the whole time he had the penalty flag flashing above his car so I see that problem is still present in game.

I finished 7th which was not bad damage limitation but I will not forget the name of that player for future races. :grumpy:

Manufacturers Cup:

Well the racing at Tokyo Expressway turned out to be the challenge I expected but was actually quite an enjoyable race.

Qualifying I got badly held up by traffic and could only manage 13th place which was not bad but I suspect there was a 2:12
in the car but could only pull of a 2:14.

The race started out with chaos as expected going into the first right hander after the straight but only came out with a 1
second penalty and was able to get a little gap on the road to myself in 10th place.

Continued racing and pitted on lap 5 and came out 8th and eventually finished 7th thanks to a penalty and possibly could
have had 6th but happy the way the race finished all things considered though my Team Tails GT-R looked somewhat battle
scarred.

Be interested to see my standings now once the other races finish.

The manufactures cup race was interesting tonight, I only had time for one hot lap but caught another Lexus who decided to drive me into the wall and put me 20th on the grid (This was in an A/S race). The race was just damage limitation.

Edit: I've painted my car for the manufacture races since I'm tied to it for the rest of the year.

Same thing happened to me on Nations Cup Race : On my quali lap i was 0.3 seconds faster than pole position after 2 sectors but at the chicane SURPRISE ! 3 cars ahead of me on the racing line :( impossible to overtake them with their barrage
So on my second attempt at the first corner a guy ghosted and unghosted just ahead of me on the racing line! COLLISION ! and.....SURPRISE 2 ! SR down for me the victim and 2 seconds penalty ! 🤬
RESULT : Race Ruined already ! starting 13 th Finishing 10th greatttt :(

What's the domestic ranking for the Nations cup refer to, anyway? Does it refer to my state, or perhaps the county within it that I live in?

State or county, then town you live in.

Tokyo isn't so bad. Save for hitting the wall.

I've noticed a lot of driver don't know what a hot lap is a treat it as an actual lap wearing down tires, getting on the way and what not. Easy to deal with on longer tracks but shorter ones are a pain.

Only did the Nations Cup. I tried to learn the Tokyo track but didn’t feel comfortable on it.

Started P9 after being seeded P13. I had a solid start while the guys in P4-8 were locked in a battle straight from the start. I had some pressure from behind but nothing major so I decided to stay behind and short shift. The race was surprisingly clean. I only saw two drivers spin their car out of the hairpin.
Before the pits I was in P7, after the stop I was in P5 with over 2 seconds space to P6 thanks to the fuel saving capabilities of the Corvette:cool:

From there on nothing major happened except another two drivers spinning their cars out of the hairpin which gifted me P3. Maybe they shouldn’t have chosen the GTR just because it was on the leaderboard:D
It could also be the absence of CSA taking its toll.

All in all not the most exiting race but point-wise my best ever with 1567 points. Also, I’m now pretty confident that I have made the right choice for me in the manufacturers cup with the Corvette(I know that I didn’t have to choose it for this race).

Didn't have time to do both races today so went for the Nations Cup - barely raced round Tokyo so seemed like a bad idea. Decent practice, never been good round Yamigawa but started to make progress and got my time down to something I was reasonably happy with. So obviously I got a blue screen when going to the lobby for the race and that was that. Ergh.

I tried the IMPREZA Gr4 in Manufacturers Cup............NEVER AGAIN :grumpy:
That car have no straight line speed it's unreal ! even with the slipstream i hardly catch a Toyota 86 :boggled:
These seasons are going to be very looooong for me with that car :(
