BOP has been changed for the majority of Gr.3 cars, and nearly all Gr.4 cars. Most changes seem to be shedding weight from some cars. The only cars that have been flat out penalized have been the Atenza and Peugeot VGT in Gr.3 and the Porsche Cayman in Gr.4

Both my Aston Martins have received improvements. More power for the V12 Vantage, and less weight for the V8 Vantage. Hopefully this makes for better racing.

A few drastic changes for some lightweight cars in Gr.4. Alfa Romeo has added 300lbs of ballast for 20hp more. Toyota 86 and Renault both gain about 150lbs for 10hp.

Big changes to the Gr.4 Alfa, Renault and GT86, loads more weight and some more power. Little boost to the corvette as well. Will hopefully help them match up a bit better to the rest of Gr.4

Gr.3 GTR has also been hit with a 2% power drop, so that should balance it out a bit.

Going to be very interesting to see whether this is a step in the right direction. I am wary of such big changes, would prefer them to make little tweaks more often (or ideally just get a bop for each track)

I'm not a fan of big changes like this in the middle of the season.

Looks like Alfa Romeo will be less OP on tyres and fuel but will suck a bit less in a straight line. Not sure how I feel about that tbh.

@Famine The Gr.4 Atenza has had a whopping 1% weight reduction. That'll solve your tyre shredding issues. /sarcasm

The Alfa was capable of 2:01.x at Lago Maggiore before the update. I am now told it is about 0.8 seconds per lap slower, and burns the rear tyres much more quickly.

Small nerfs/buffs are fine, but it is disheartening when 150+ kg can be added to your car in the middle of a season. Completely changes your prospects when nothing was done to the average 4C gr3 (and no one signed up for Alfa on the strength of the gr3 car).

Well, good thing I didn't really put in much practice for Saturday's races yet, since it looks like things have been shaken up a bit. In the US the Peugeot VGT was most of the leaderboards for Nations, since Gr. 3 only received minor tweaks and the Peugeot VGT got a slight power nerf, I wonder if that will change at all or not.

The BOP changes are wild for Gr4. All the OP tirewear cars got moved to the power side. The Alfa change in particular is extreme, much more weight and power to bring it into the rest of the field. Curious about the race now. In general the FF cars are buffed.

3 BOPs would do, as per type of track (speed, technical, mixed)
if current is considered mixed, then they would need just 2 more
hey, they forgot to adjust bmw m6

just checked the Megane and it feels the same to drive, but do get the feeling that at Lago Maggiore it is just a little bit slower then before the update. off about half a second from my previous lap times. but only did a few laps till now,,hope that i can improve.

Think the HP increase for this car might be a good thing, driving on the straight at Fuji last round was embarrising.....

anyone else checked their vehicle and compared it to before the update?

Ok so i'm still not massively clued up with this BoP stuff. So increase in Bhp is obviously more power/speed. Weight reduction obviously means lighter so less wearing on tires. Does that also mean quicker to accelerate? Does it also mean better on fuel? If a car has a power decrease but also a weight decrease, does that mean it doesn't really change anything? Basing it on that, does that mean Corvette Gr.4 is now more 'competitive'? :dunce:

Making these adjustments in the middle of the season is annoying. With the whole Mazda thing, they should just have made it another Exhibition season.

While I concur that there's no need to bother with the Atenza Gr.4 ever, I'm not sure how the Gr.3 RX-Vision changes that in any way.

I am in a lobby where I am watching an Atenza (driven by someone with DR 57k) keep up with Nations WT winner in an Alfa 4C at Maggiore for 8 laps.

So either the Atenza is relatively good, or the 4C is now not so good.

Aaand they nerfed the the better of my two cars AGAIN, I was using Jag when they nerfed the Gr.4 car last time. Why do they do this in the middle of a season?

I was just thinking this man, they really are out to get you. Maybe stop being so damned good in the early season, sandbag it a bit until the updates come :P

Or SwItCh tO hOnDa :::)))

It's really silly these decisions lately. Rumours that top 16 races will have setups allowed which is laughable, and now a huge BOP change mid season?

Cool, my underpowered Nissan Gr4 that's terrible on tyres and fuel now loses 15kg.... But so does everything else! I was banking on Interlagos being my 4th points of the season too and now they've badly nerfed my Gr3 car. Brilliant stuff, i can see why people boycott these things.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to focus more on Nations like I was originally planning to do this season.

Exactly what I said at the start of the season, and to be fair I've only missed one manufacturers race since then. I guess the upside of this is now I'll be properly focused on Nations as there will be little point in Manufacturers anymore.

It's frustrating as I really like the Manufacturers Series as its what GT racing should be about, with a real mix of cars on the grid. But with PD forever tinkering with BoP and moving the goalposts mid season takes away a lot of the enjoyment.

I don't even see the point in changing Manufacturer as I can see another BoP update at the end of stage 2.

I know the 4C was overpowered on tyres and fuel but it has no straight line speed and jeez, 150kg extra? C'mon PD that doesn't balance anything.

The 4C was too good, could pull the lap times outright and have the tires to outlast every other car.

This should have come with the setup changes update, with such drastic changes to setups and the cars not being re balanced, then I don't think this should come as a surprise. I figured since the BoP update didn't come with the change in setups, then PD was going to wait it out a bit to see how it rejigged things with a BoP update later.

They have stated that BoP is never final and can change during a season. It looks decent across the board but don't want to make any definitive comments about it until we see it play out over the next month. I do like what they have done to GR4, bringing the extreme handling cars in a bit and giving them more power. So now they should be able to battle better in the draft if they can't get away early, hope to see it become more racey overall, as in the past when you come up behind a Renault/Toyo/Alfa, the pass is almost a formality and they will have a hard time getting it back, so hopefully see less of that.

Feel gutted for @Rangeraus gets a BoP that is favourable, can't connect to lobbies all month, sorts D/C problems then favourable BoP is taken away.

I like your optimism. I need some of that
