I chose to drive a Vette, on a whim. Didn't seem to affect me too much. My quickest time in practice was a 2:09.1 with the GTR and a 2:09.6 with the Vette. I only race group 4 cars as I am not really good with gt3 cars and it really showed at Maggorie today. I buggered up qualifying after choosing to sit behind a car that proved much slower than me. After a big attempt to not hit his car, I accidentally did ruining his, mine, and the car behinds qualifying lap. It seems that everyone else had their lap stuffed too as my practice laps would have put me on pole! I was seeded last but my qualifying lap was 6 seconds off first and put me 15th! It was a good, bargy race and my finger tips started going numb after 6 laps, and I finished 16th in the end for a whopping 3 points.
Next slot is at 5pm, hoping better luck.

@Pinky: could you try a North America slot at all?

For me my NA slots would be starting mid-morning towards lunchtime, and I am not ready to race then. As for tonight, I think my daughter managed to bag my ratings to dump me in an iffy lobby. Was just at 92 SR, but she lost some crap that we had to find before bedtime for medical reasons. Had to bail from a lobby I was entered in, but only at the warm up screen. Will see how it goes.👍

Come the choice of rankings or kids the kids have to win, so que sera sera.

Edit: yup, dropped DR and the 5 SR. Oh well.

Not a great start to this one. Started 2nd. Turn 1 was sloppy. AN SLS overtook me and the lead Beetle. I slowed for the turn and gave room. The SLS overcooked and went straight off. I wasn't going to make the turn anyway, because a train of cars placed me wide. So, I lose out with a penalty.

Race goes on. Damage shows COD welcomed me with open arms around Lap 5. Full damage to the engine and everything. Limped to the pits and took the opportunity to fill up. Head down rest of the race.

That Beetle in 9th, ran out of fuel exiting the last corner. The Beetle with the penalty, hit it because they were bumper to bumper, for the last 4 laps. Good thing I was keeping my distance. Sailed right by and moved up two spots. Liveries and GT League time...

The BoP update didn't change the Ferrari GR4 at all, some potential for a decent result. Finished p4 in the first round of the night for a bit of practice, got biggest score of the season (outside of top 16's) so gonna throw it all away for a stream and round 2! :D

Had an eventful race and particularly first lap of Nations. Started on pole then pushed off at turn 2, then just involved in numerous other tangles to go from 1st to 10th at the end of the lap.

Went on to win after taking the lead on lap 10 despite being jammed into the wall on lap 9.

So after just editing my post about having to quit a lobby at the warm up screen because of issues with my daughter, I get disconnected trying to enter the manufacturers race. The only slot I can do for that. Can PD say anything about this at all or is their PR department permanently disconnected from the world as well? If I wanted to do a Manu race tonight I have to wait till nearly midnight.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Seriously, can PD even 🤬 acknowledge the massive plague of these disconnects going on in Oceania?

Because I know I am not alone, and 1 was my problem, but I am down in my guess at the moment 2500 DR or more and 10 SR, and I haven't turned a lap tonight.

I don't think we can blame PD for all disconnects. There is a lot of internet connections between you and their server, if any of them flicks you loose connection.

Yeah, I know it isnt going to be 100 pct their fault, but there seems to be a massive problem with disconnects on the Oceania server at the moment. @SweatyC was disco'd from my lobby as well. They won't even acknowledge it is an issue at all at the moment, but while I don't care as much about DR, the SR issue is annoying. If we are getting a disproportionate number of disconnects someone would surely look at it to determine if it is a PD server or network issue, or if it lies somewhere else in our internet. Then they could at least mention they are looking at it. Ask @Rangeraus, this has been a big problem in this region all season. Lucky on that it is my first disconnect, although my first 2 attempts at FIA races were aborted by them end of last season.

An IP adress we could ping would be a good start.
Try checking the ping of the Japanese players in game.
Well the big issue is that in the FIA races it is only NZ and AUS drivers. The servers for this are in Sydney. I can check the ping of other players, but not sure how much it matters. I am coming in at 36ms on my ping test. But running in the dailies I have seen Japanese and vietnamese players close to 300ms. I seriously think there is some infrastructure issue we are missing. But again, the lack of any sort of communication is the most frustrating part of it all. Now to see if I can get in for Nations.

Crossing my fingers and ready to dice with the COD!

I did have that red reconnect to the network button appear when I first entered the game so was fearing the worst anyway after reconnecting. :grumpy: So annoying, especially when you’ve put in a lot of practice.

You probably won't like hearing that practice has consisted of about 10 laps tonight. I'm not exactly going to set the field on fire.:sly:

Good luck!

Edit: and I am at least into warm ups this time

I am in Western Australia and I have never ever been disconnected on the Playstation network. My ping is quite a bit down on most Australians, I have never tested the actual speed though.
Think I am lucky in this respect though.

I'll put this in a spoiler as I am sure most people are sick of reading about disconnects

I don't think we can blame PD for all disconnects.

Any online software product you use will have an online form you can fill out, or an address you can send an email to, or a phone number you can call, when you have issues using said product.

It is called Customer Service. Other video game developers, such as Rockstar Games, have a website dedicated to this. PD do not have any resources dedicated to this, that I could find.

The issue is only happening in PD's product as far as I can tell. The disconnection issue may be with the servers, it may not. But how do you know. There is no way you can contact PD and ask them to check.

So, the only thing I can do is to post it online and raise awareness of it (after I have explored many other avenues). After 17 disconnects in a competitive e-Sports season, you would probably do the same.

An IP adress we could ping would be a good start.
Try checking the ping of the Japanese players in game.

There is a 'Test Connection Status' function you can use on the Sport Mode selection screen. Mine is always at the maximum for each parameter, ping is between 6-8.

But the issue still happens.

Oh well. What a let down after all the waiting. Had a great start, only to get spun out by a car somewhere in the first chicane. Had to get going from the back again. Did really well with it though, was managing my fuel(I thought) and cruising through the chicane up to p11 or so. Then I bounced the chicane but only lost a spot. With all the pitting I was back looking at a top 10, way better than my p15 qualifying time. Then someone coming put of the pits goes hot into the turn 1 chicane again and spins me. Accidental, but I ended up facing the wrong way and having to drive it around, losing spots. Then I bounced the chicane for 3 laps in a row while my wife tried to distract me to ask questions about buying a dog?!?!?

Anyhow. Upshot is I flubbed the race, ended up p16 for a rubbish finish and rubbish wasted points. Should have just taken the weekend off. At least it was about 90pct my fault though, so I know I was in over my head. On to next week. Hope you all do better and have good times!
:)👍

Is it really possible to no-stop today's Nations race? I just tried the GT-R in a practice, which was okay on fuel and is now lighter and less powerful, and with short shifting and coasting I managed 9 laps out of it. Are there cars that much better?

I no stopped in the beetle, but had to do some laps in FM 2. Should have done 3 as I had to do almost a lap in fm 4 to finish. If you are B rank or below most will be pitting. I just have a thing for wanting to try no stops. By the way I got beat by all the people in my race who stopped if that helps your decision, although y bad driving in the chicane had a big hand in that.

I went 12 laps in the RXV and competitive while fuel saving.

I fully agree on this, every bit of it. By the way, you can click on the individual player name and get the ping.

Got in this time and had a good race! :)

Qualified 9th but would have been top 5 if it wasn’t for someone cruising on the racing line on the final corner. Just because you have hazards flashing doesn’t mean you have a right to stay on the line!!

Picked up a few places on the opening laps and then ended up in a good clean close fight for 5th for the rest of the race, swapping positions regularly. Had the better exit on the last lap but just clipped the back of his car as I went for the pass giving him a boost.

If anyone has a replay saved of a qualifying session showing the last corner queuing and jostling from any recent FIA race I would be appreciative if you could share it on GT servers and tag it as "womble"

Making a video on the subject bit dont have any of my own footage.

Cheers in advance.

Just got cost a win at Dragon Trail by this game's stupid ghosting. Guy hits the wall on the exit of the chicane but not hard enough to ghost, so naturally I hit him and got a 1 second penalty. He ended up hitting it properly two laps later, but we'd gone from 1/2 to 3/4 by that point.

And my SR's gone down to 85  I might give Manu a try to bump it up, at least I'll be in a terrible lobby
