I like the BMWs in the game. Z8, M4 GR.4 is the closest we get to the real GT4 and the classic E30. Need an M1, E28 M5, M635, 2002tii or the 2002turbo and I'm good.

Bit early for these but seeing as though the schedules are up on the website, here's the tables:

The Peugeot LMP is faster than the Toyotas, Audis, Porsche. It accelerates and handles good as well. I was competitive with it at Lago last year. So, even though fuel may come into play, that straight-line speed could help.

When I had a go at Free Practice yesterday, the Top 10 board was just R18 ‘16, I did manage on a private lobby no refuel in a 919 tho, eats up the S tyres badly.

On a side note, I re-signed with Porsche, I did promise myself that I’d go back to Jag, seeing how it’s actually my real life employer!

I wasn't able to find any practice lobbies for the Nations cup so I'm not sure what car to use yet, but the top 10 leaderboard in the Americas is the 2016 R18. I'm wondering how much use the hybrid boost will be because it's all used up by the time you get to Eau Rouge, and in free practice the only way to post a "fastest" time is to get your first flying lap right. I did a horrible 1st sector and was still almost 0.5s faster than myself taking Sector 1 decently because of the extra power the batteries gave me.

There were, however, a ton of open lobbies for the Manufacturer's race. With some fuel saving, the 911 can go without refueling for the race. I wasn't completely aware of that for a lap or two and after I switched to shifting around 50%-75% of the redline I only needed 0.7 laps of additional fuel. I was also in the slipstream almost the entire time, however, so minimal refueling might be needed.

IIRC, the Toyota has always had a longer-lasting battery, at the expense of power, while the Audi is the opposite. I always had a little bit of the bar left after the electricity deployment cut off, and while I do need to test it more, I was able to get at least 2 laps without completely depleting the battery.

I'll have to test that then, thanks! I haven't really done much testing for the race because I'm still not entirely convinced it won't be a mess. I'm hoping more open lobbies pop up so I can get a better feel of what racing in them will be like.

Round 19 for Manufacturers has all 3 tire compounds available, but no mandatory tire? That looks like it'll be by far the most strategically interesting race. On the other hand Round 15 looks ridiculous giving you RM and RH, but requiring the Hard tire when the entire race could easily be done on Mediums with only 3x wear. Everyone will be doing only 1 lap on the Hards, and whether it's the 1st or last lap will depend on where you qualify.

I had similar times in time trial with both the 908 and TS050(56.7xx - for sure it can be improved with more practice). The fuel does not seem to be a problem with any of the cars. The way the track is built, I think the hybrid system will not be such an advantage - there are only 2-3 short acceleration zones(in the range 80-200 km/h) and it is pretty hard to overtake in those areas. When the speed is higher than 220-230 km/h then the 908 is really superior to the hybrids and you can really get an advantage on the Kemmel straight, on the descending high speed left hander and the straight at the end.

I have to do a test race to double check my theories - but I am almost sure that I will go with the 908HDI.

I told BMW the only way I would re-sign with them is to take the Z4 to the pasture and replace it with an M6. The negotiations were tough, but I'm still a BMW driver with a new M6 in the garage.

Let's see if I can improve my results in Gr3 races or its just the boob behind the wheel that's been the issue with big points. Peace out Z4! 👍

saw your scape photo, liking the subtle and elegant design a lot.

Love the new livery. Welcome to the wide-boy M6 club.

I went through the opposite thought process before resigning, currently with the M6 and wanted to see if the M3 or Z4 would be a better option to improve my Gr.3 race performances. The M6 has been a real animal to tame the wheel spin on corner exists. But after testing both the M3 and Z4 and experiencing just how little front downforce those two options have, causing massive medium/high speed understeer, I stuck with the M6.

Yes, I’m nervous to tame her, but with the testing laps I did vs the M3 and Z4, the M6 was quicker even with sloppy laps. It seemed like a no brainer. It’s a long season, so I have time to get used to it. Hopefully I can figure out how to drive it to the limit sooner than later.

m6 has good brakes

Gr.1 Nations. Not all the time, but I bank on players that use the same car, they sometimes come together. Same strengths & weaknesses, similar speeds and trying to occupy the same space, usually means a couiple places to move up by default. ;) First time I'll be using the LM55 for any GR.1 race(includes: Daily, Custom Race, GT League[I did use the GR.X for the VGT event], Lobby).

GT3 Manu. The RX-V feels so tight around Interlagos. Nice off-throttle tuck in and early throttle out of corners.
Especially the final sequence of corners. I'm fill throttle pulling gears after the tight right-hander, thru the rollercoaster left before braking into the 90° left.

Will be interesting to see how this car handles, compared to some of the MRs in the field.

I need to do some more testing but I put in some decent time seeing how I liked the Gr. 1 cars. I only tested the 2016 R18 and the 919 because it turns out I didn't have the TS050 like I thought I did, and I feel a bit conflicted. I was getting better lap times in the R18, around 0.3-0.7s, but the 919 felt much nicer to drive. Also, I didn't realize how powerful slipstream is for Gr. 1 cars, holy crap, I might have to qualify in a slipstream train this time if I do race.

Edit: I tested the TS050 for a bit, and it felt like the R18 but slightly worse in all aspects. I drove all three back-to-back on RS with fuel and tire wear on and the 919 felt the best through Sector 2, but the R18 felt better through Sector 1 and 3. The 919 seems more forgiving if you don't trail brake correctly and seems to have better turn-in, but the R18 seems to have the pace if driven correctly. The TS050 felt more stable like the 919 but wasn't as forgiving, kind of like the R18.

Hi all,

I'm confused about this week race at Interlagos (apologies for the newbie question!): the race details say 'Min N° of Pit stops: None' and at the same time 'Required tires: H/M/S'.
So which is it: can you race on the same set of tires without stopping, or do you have to use all three types of tires (i.e min pit stop: 2)?

Thank you

Yes you have to use all 3 sets of tires so minimum 2 pit stops!

It doesn't say that you have to stop 2 times. My plan was to do a hot lap with soft and swap to medium during the qualify and stop only once. Is that not allowed?

The basic initial strategy for these 3 compound races is to do as many laps on softs, 1 on hards and the rest on mediums and then go from there. You don't have to start on the tyre you qualified on, you can qualify on softs then change your starting compound in the minute before the race through driving options

Agreed, I think I got 11/12 laps out of softs in the TS050 in a practice race the other night, and so much fuel I should have burned some at the start line. The Toyota maybe be able to go only 1 lap on both mediums and Hards in the right hands.
