As for replays, I think the best way is to have a YouTube account and upload them there and link it here. I am not sure how to embed them in your post like some do. (Please explain somebody!)

You can edit your videos on the PS4 in sharefactory before uploading and upload direct to your YouTube once you link it to your PS4.

What is everyone's thoughts on the pit strategy for the Nations race? I was originally planning on doing a 2 stop, because even though I'm not a good tire saver I find that pitting more than the minimum ruins my rhythm/can put me into traffic, but I was watching kie25's strategy video about doing a 3 stop, and he has a really good point about the time lost on worn tires (and if you're a frequent reader of this thread and saw my indecisiveness earlier you'll see I definitely lose time on the harder compounds/worn tires). I'm thinking of the 3 stop now but I'm not sure about how it'll pan out in my split, which will be ~39k-40k DR, since I don't think many people go for the more aggressive pit strategies at this level.
 
That's so bogus. My LM55 time, was dropped by 2 seconds, when I ran the TS050. 1:57.556(one flying lap after the initial "outlap").

Ran the 919. 1:57.199(one lap)

Ran the R18. 1:56.481( two laps, after getting a penalty for AWD torque steer TCS 0)

The T050 felt okay as usual. Just a rock steady drive.
919 has some awesome useable tight radius cornering.
Now, the R18. Sickening to see my trap speed, was 10-13km/h higher, than both TS050 & 919 thru Eau Rouge. That's where my lap time dropped.
It's cornering is between the 919 and TS050. Still debating what I'll use tomorrow. Maybe the 919...
 
Just thought I'd share some thoughts on tomorrows nations race from my testing as there is a lot of debate between the 2 stop and 3 stop and the Audi and Toyota.

My fastest finishing time of all is 2 stopping the toyota 7s 8m 1h for a 31.51.4......I attempted to beat that 3 stopping the Audi but came up considerable short with 31.55.7 going 6s 6s 3m 1h. I do think I can get that down a but towards mid 53 but that's still slower than the toyota.

My observations between the Audi and Toyota. After 2 laps the pace advantage of the Audi which is minimal anyway disappears and by lap 4 the toyota is quicker. This is a combination of the Audi hybrid and tyres slowly dying compared to the toyota which has no hybrid concerns and manages the tyres better. The toyota can easily maintain pace till lap 7 on softs with full fuel.

On the second soft stint the exact same thing happens with the Audi come lap 4. Hybrid and tyres die out and laptimes markedly increase. No such worries with the toyota on mediums which will knock out 8 laps with few issues.

To compound the Audi negatives it's a car far more likely to bite and put you in a barrier if you catch a kerb wrong compared to the toyota.

Given the above I'd reccomend the Toyota and 2 stop. Even if 3 stopping I'd still go Toyota but your possibly giving up the toyotas biggest advantage 3 stopping which is the tyre wear and consistent laptimes.

First post here been lerking for few days and recognize a bunch of familiar names I've raced with so thought I'd share my season.

Driving with Ford, my entire family drives Ford so it wasn't much of a choice. Picked the Ford GT over the Mustang and I haven't been disappointed at all with that decision although the gr4 Mustang is a complete dog. The Ford GT isn't great with fuel or tires but it has it's moments. I haven't fuel saved all season just run until empty has been my strategy no lean.

First time trying to make a commitment to FIA only been running in the Manufacturer Series so far and it's been hard enough with the disconnects after practicing all week, so a few races I've been a no show.

Started this season with 20k DR B/S rating and currently sitting at 60k DR A+/S rating. 456 points on the season currently 5th for Ford in the U.S. with Interlegos left to go.

Ford GT podium finishes at Dragon Trail Seaside, Le Mans & Sardegna. Haven't finished outside of the top 10 all season long in Gr3 class.

Seaside and Le Mans were my races to lose and I did after walking away from the competition the entire race on both to finish 2nd.

Definitely strongest at Sardegna I was able to do whatever I wanted and take any line and make huge gains. It was like a missile example being starting 20th to finish 3rd. Run it twice more for couple of run away wins. Special appearance from wedjim in that one I've seen him on here posting.

Not sure how y'all are uploading your replays but I tried and failed miserably. Got a few of y'all in my replays as well, ha.

I created a youtube channel to host my replays, which I save on the PS4 and then upload to youtube. You have to 'share' save the clip when replaying it in the game, which creates a mpeg file on the PS4 which you can export to USB memory. I then embed them using the editor here, when I post. You can link the PS4 directly to youtube, but I usually want to trim the video first so I put it on my computer then post to youtube from there. It's a bit of a pain process but that's how I do it.

I ran a sim race with one other friend just to get idea for Gr1 race at Spa... it was wild that I could not even pull the R18 when trailing it in the Porsche... even with the draft, the distance remained the same all the way up the hill to Kemmel straight, despite the benefit of the better hybrid system on the run to Eau Rouge and up Radillon. But I agree, both the Porsche and Toyota are infinitely easier to drive and more consistent than the R18, and given that I would not likely be challenging for a win Saturday, I'm going with what is comfortable and I know I can keep it between the curbs. The difference in lap times on the hards wasn't even that bad... less than two seconds per lap (sure, my time on softs wasn't great, but I was surprised how well the car drove on fresh (blanket-warmed) hards, during the sim. And I got 9 laps on the softs when starting on them.

I think between the 919 and the TS050, the TS050 would be better. Even though personally I'm able to get better lap times on softs with the 919, the TS050 is better on tires which will give flexibility for switching from a 3-stop to a 2-stop or vice versa if needed, plus, at least for me, the times on mediums and worn softs were worse with the 919 than the TS050. Plus, the TS050 has better hybrid regen/boost which will be useful on the straights.
 
Just before I head back from my work break, I want to give a huge shout out to all those who do practicing and post their results and strategies here. As someone who usually is only able to get on about 30-45 minutes before my one shot at a race you guys (and gals, who knows) are lifesavers. While my driving might not always be solid I've at least got a good idea of what I need to do to have a shot at the best results I can get. Especially all those who do the Strategy and lap guides. I know that editing takes as much time as practice. I'll also keep trying to share my results and the things I notice as being in Oceania we sort of kick it off ahead of everyone and if I'm able to give anyone a heads up that's great. Just bear in mind I'm sort of a mid-to high DR B lifer. You fast guys might do best to ignore what I've found as my lobbies can be chaotic sometimes.

Edit2: Did a 3-stop. Qualified on RM to see how much slower that tyre was. 2 seconds off pole. Did 1RH/1RM/8RS/6RS. I was P11 on the last lap. Caught up to the TS050 that finished P11. Tried to race it fair. P10 took the opportunity to sneak up my inside while the other was defending. Got back to P11 and the run to the finall corner, P10 divebombed Me and P11 into the final chicane. Wasn't that serious to claim that position. Anyway, thats done.

Seeing a lot of disconnects in OCE today...

It really seems to be a gamble lately, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
 
The gamble is more about being punted than anythiong else. Being disco'd can be a blessing.

I got turned around not even half the lap done. Then this dude that blocked and offed me at Fuji, did the same thing just then. I'm on RS and about to overtake down the straight. Squeezes me to the right side, after he'd been blocking the inside.

It sounds like the same old interlagos from the dailies then. Will have to see how much I keep my elbows out since I will most likely be in the back for most of this one.

@Rangeraus the whole top split gone? Wow. That is pretty shocking. It seems to really be a serious problem for the Oceania region now

I got disconnected from that Nations slot 1 after 5 minutes matchmaking.

Manu slot 1 second split went alright, after 2 minutes matchmaking. Typical demo derby race, and I was already doubly pissed...

Aaaand the cherry on top, just now got disconnected from top split Nations slot 2.5 (non Top 16 SS), everyone in the room got kicked from talking to another driver. Happened between warmup and quali starting. One driver even got kicked during warmup.

Probably the 1 week break + popular combo + weekend doesn't help things, but this is becoming an absolute joke at the moment. I know you're a bit reluctant to bother Kaz on twitter, but this is the kind of things that we should probably take directly to the top man, instead of spamming him with car/track wishlists like many other on twitter do. I'm not on soc med, and even if I am, I'm not a high level drivers so I don't have as much cachet as you do.

Also @Famine could run a front page news as well. Worked last time when penalties needed sorting out.

Dunno if I wanna try last slot at this point. Probably will implode again and even if it goes ahead, everyone else with 2 race experience under their belt will be miles away it's not a level playing field anymore.

EDIT: Raced ok in 3rd slot. 50% of the top split consists of people who normally shouldn't be there, so it's a bit of a crash fest in the bottom half of the grid.

I managed to get into my lobby so far. Fat lot of good as I got myself a penalty flying lap 1 that I had to serve on my qualifying lap. Oh well. My usual.:boggled:

Edit: actually went ok. Had a couple minor mistakes, and lost some SR when one person just kept turning into me if I got near them. Oh well. 2 taps on others were mistakes so we all screw up. Actually made it to P12 and a season high for points somehow. Could have had more, but a best result will still look good to me.

Now you have some idea of how I feel... I got disconnected from Manufacturers Top 16 Superstars tonight. Third disconnect from a Superstars race, and 18th time across Nations/Manufacturers/Supra Cup since Round 1 this season.

Also I have not qualified for a World Tour so don't really have any clout whatsoever. The error code I get is NE-21009009 which is different to most other issues for others tonight. So everyone just assumes it is a problem with my internet.

Anyway I do wonder how many people need to complain about it before anything gets done.

Rookie question. Can anyone join this top16 race or you have to be invited or something? I'm BS doing my first race of the season today
 
Made it into Nations race as well. Qualified old, sort of. But well off my pace as I simply slid a couple of corners. Start P13. Proceed to get a track limit penalty lap 1, and a 1 sec for contact in the middle of a pack. Race semi-consistent, but get about 4 track limit penalties through the race. Looking to come home p12 as I simply lose out to another driver for the p11 I held most of the race. Serve yet another track limit penalty when the guy in p13 bombs me into les coombes. When I hit the brakes I looked and he was 0.6 back. Nope, he proceeds to tap me and push me off at the hairpin for his p12. If I could have caught him I would have knocked him off, but held my spot. Still ended up with third highest score of season so I guess if points are going up it helps but wankers like that pulling crap at the end of your race doesn't leave you feeling happy with the result. EDIT: I screwed up positions, just looked at replay, as a battle for P12 ish, ended up P14.:indiff:

Also, beware of blocking and moving under braking. Seems to be the thing since passes are coming at the end of the straights. Whatever you do avoid the track limits. Cost me at least 2 positions if not more. Good luck out there.👍

Forgot to add that I wanna lobby PD for extra points for racing through an earthquake. Didnt really slow me down much but I sure wasn't 100pct focused for a lap or so there.

Highest ranked lobby I’ve been in yet. So naturally had no.19 on the door out of 19 :lol:

Qualifying went well and started 8th which was higher than I was expecting even though this track is probably my strongest. Started on Softs and got through T1, 1 car went wide and I was into 7th. Car in 5th went wide on T2 and spun back onto the track sideways and just tapped my door and i got a 2 second penalty for it :mad: That was pretty much the end of a higher finish already.

Was in a small group fighting it out for 7th to 10th for a while. Stayed out til lap 10 which I think was 1 lap too many, swapped for 1 lap on Hards and then pitted for fuel and Mediums. Was more or less on my own for the rest of the race. Pleased with 9th though.

For Nationals..

Only done a few laps myself n clueless still on any kinda strategy going into it at the moment. Running 1.59’s so hope to practice a bit today, in a public lobby or make one myself.

Still deciding on Hyundai Vision or the TS050.
I’m not as fast in the Hyundai, but it seems to have got like.... super duper grip lol. Make more mistakes on exit of corners, but WAY harder to spin than the TS050

Im absolutely terrible at the Manufacturers course, the few times I’ve done the coarse, n gonna skip that this week lol
 
I can't say I've done many Gr.1 races - wish me luck! Gonna use the Peugeot 908 for tonight's race at Spa-Francorchamps. I feel like I've been trying to be somewhat conservative with my tire strategies, too - and I'll be sure to move brake balance a bit rearwards in both cases to better-distribute tire wear. Here were my strategies:

Manufacturers Series - Gr.3 @ Interlagos: 4S/7M/9H

Nations Cup - Gr.1 @ Spa-Francorchamps: 3S/5M/8H

Of course, this wouldn't be the order they're used in, but that will depend on where I end up qualifying. I'm planning on using softs last, unless I qualify towards the front, which is where I'd actually go for the softs first. In that same case, I'd move onto the hards, then the mediums last. If I'm starting towards the middle, I think I'll go Medium/Hard/Soft, and if I'm starting towards the back, then I'll go Hard/Medium/Soft. Basically, going for a compound that matches my general qualifying position, then planning to use the softest possible compound last.
 
After running a mock race at Interlagos last night, I noticed I can only go 17L at full power. Do any of you think it's a good idea to dial the power down so time will not be wasted getting fuel during a stop, or should I keep it at max power and take the time to get fuel?
