Qualified on RH(3:05.xxx) 21 seconds slower than Pole(2:46.614). Well I wasn't the slowest or last. Started 17/17(18, someone quit). My FL was 2:56. P1 FL was 2:45.xxx. Good stuff.

Thought I'd have to wait between Nations and MAnu. Next race entry is now!.

Much better. Wasan't expecting anything. Qualy and started on RH. Had to feather the throttle a few tmes in qualy. Car ahead was sliding and a bit slower than me.

Ran full race on RH. Stoppped to top up fuel for last lap, left tyres on. I did have a brief head-on with the wall on Lap 1. Got a piece of grass off the kerb on my right rear and catapulted to the right armco. Not much time lost(whew!). Caught up to the lead two at the end of Lap 2.

P2 passed me for 2nd, on the final straight.

Change measurement from km/h to miles, the mm/inches shift automatically
not in my game they don't, only thing that changes is the speed from miles too km and vice versa , got into car setup and still listing as mm.

Here's a tune with which I was able to set a 2m38.6s lap. Not as fast as the absolute top drivers, but definitely on a thoroughly respectable pace. It takes a different strategy than most of the top drivers when it comes to gearing, by using a lower 3rd gear which means you can use 3rd out of T1 and don't need to waste time off the throttle shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Also, it gives a great, stable run out of the turn after the bridge, and the turn after the back straight.

Sharing this now as the Oceania Top 16 is finished now so no need to keep it secret anymore

Well Manufacturers was a total unmitigated disaster. Qualified well enough for me. P7. Then ruined it by missing my brake marker for turn 1. Was trying to keep inside and didnt see it. Was then caught inside and ended up taking out another driver and ruining their race, plus my well earned 4 sec and dead last. Pretty much didnt get any better from there. Had plenty of pace, but would just lose it and spin at random spots pushing to make up from being 25 seconds behind. Maybe I can crash less in Nations.

I was watching the stream of the Subaru that started 9th. Not gonna lie, but you caused a massive crash at the start  The Subaru went from 9th to 2nd. One of the white concrete bollards rolled onto the track from the impact. Didn’t think that was possible! Spectacular!

I think I missed a trick with the massive camber angle on the rear wheels with less on the front - Cody looked like he had the maximum angle as it looked pretty comical when following him in the warm-up. Of course by that time I wasn't going to change my setup (average as it was).

I ran with only 4 gears and didn't use 5th. 1st gear was long enough to bolt off the line without red-lining too early, and I managed to get from 10th to 5th.

Was several seconds per lap slower so was fortunate to be in 7th on the final lap, but got shuffled down on the final lap and finished 9th. Could have used the extra points but oh well. Would have been avoided if I was faster.

Manufacturers T16 - blew qualifying and dropped about 2 seconds. Ended up dropping out of the tow in the race when saving fuel (plus a small mistake costing a few tenths), and it was just making it to the end from there, finished 7th.

Highest score for the season for both championships but it feels pretty underwhelming to be honest.

Yeah. Um, to be honest I seriously debated quitting the race at that point. I was so gutted and embarrassed. It was totally stupid and just moron mistake. At least my garbage finish was my fault and legit. Unfortunately I ruined others and that annoys me more.

Wouldn’t worry about it too much. Mistakes happen. Most the cars recovered well enough anyway! Always eventful on that track!

So. Aside from not crashing. I have some advice for Nations anyway. 3 stop.

I was p7 in my race, not much up or down. But did a 4S/1H/2M/3S for my race. Not a big lobby, but hard enough for me. Lap 4 on the softs was pushing it a bit and getting sketchy. So I went 2 on the mediums.
Dirty air is a real nasty pain here so brake waaaaay early. I dropped to p12 with that strategy, but with others pitting, spinning and trying to stretch their tires I ended up back in p7. That included blowing by 3 cars on lap 10. Could have been faster and further up but for an early go on the gas at the bridge resulting in a head on that cost me at least 10 seconds if not more.

Take it super easy first 3 turns. Hell, I didnt really know the track and was still driving away from people using the @Mistah_MCA setup from the video.

Only needed 1 lap of fuel added as well since I was up shifting a bit early to aid in traction at some points too. It is fun. Crazy, hairy, but fun.

How do we get the numbers to match up on the gearbox? Is there a specific order to make the changes?

Free Practice for next Nations and Manu.

In Nations, the race requires RH, but RM are available in Free Practice. My fastest on RH for both cars, I got the Cayman .6s faster than th C7. I couldn't go any quicker than a 28.7 in the Vette.

I saw I'm still .3s quicker, optimum, in the Cayman. Couldn't piece T3. So, I left it. Saw someone went .2s quicker than me in a Cayman.
Jumped back in the C7 and I thought, hold on, checked tyre availablity and sure enough, RMs are available.

Went 1.3s quicker than my RH time in the C7! Theoretically, the Cayman should go .6s quicker on the RM. That'll drop me into the 26's.

Edit. Yep.

C7 - 1:27.402
Cayman - 1:26.884

Still going to run the C7 for the race.

I (kind of) figured it out.

1) Reset transmission.

2) Set final gear to 3.279

3) Set top speed to 370 km/h.

4) Set final gear to 2.652.

Doing this, I was able to get the first 1st and 2nd gear to match.

Yeah you need to do it in a certain order. From memory second gear was to the max to the left. If you set that all the way to the left first, then set final gear so that it matches my numbers, all the others should fit in.

I was absolutely on the pace to finish second in Top 16 Oceania but I made two critical mistakes, which ruined my race. Number one I missed my braking spot at T1 exiting the pits after my first stop, which dropped me from first back to P3 on hards. Then, after that one lap on hards I pitted and absent mindedly selected hards again ‍♂️. So I needed to make an extra pit stop to change to mediums, and one extra lap on hards. Should be interesting to see the YouTube coverage I guess! ‍♂️

Today was pretty good. For Nations, I used a modified version of @praiano63's tune, with Front Anti-Roll at 1, Front Toe at -0.2 and Rear Camber at 6.0 (thanks to @mohitraina91 for the latter 2 modifications). I qualified 8th with a time of 2:55.582.

As for the race start, I found out the hard way that going 3-wide into turn 1 with dirty air is a bad idea:

I came off better than RPS-papa63, who got sent to the back with our collective stupidity. I fell to 11th down the straight, but jumped back up to 7th when several people went wide at the hairpin. I then accidentally tapped the guy that spun me out in the Zonda race, sending him wide. I escaped witha ding to my SR, probably due to how light the contact was.

By the start of lap 2, I was chasing 3rd for a podium spot. I got up to 2nd when the polesitter lost it at the high-speed right following the bridge and outbraked the Hong Konger into the braking zone after the straight, putting me into the lead. I had started the race on Softs expecting to do a 3-stop, but my pace prompted me to switch to a 4S-4M-2H strategy. The strategy worked well enough, save for me messing up the final set of corners on lap 7, causing me to just fall behind the Hong Konger after pitting for fuel and Hards at the end of lap 8. I kept calm, guessing that the Hong Konger would have to pit after the penultimate lap.

I guessed correctly, leaving me to enjoy my victory lap and take the checkered flag 7 seconds ahead.

I also notched up my very first fastest lap and triple-digit points finish. Link to my race-winning livery

For Manufacturers, I wasn't expecting anything special from gambling at the Nurburgring, qualifying 12th. I decided on a 1H-2M strategy. I was able to make good progress at the start, but ran wide at Flugplatz, dropping me to 15th. The race itself was mostly comprised of me fending off the Aston behind, save for a final lap incident involving me accidentally spinning out an Atenza at Steilstrecke with a dive up the inside. With the Aston still behind me, I couldn't give the place back and was forced to push on. I didn't get a penalty, but I apologized to the other guy after the race, which he accepted. I finished 11th, with points counting towards my top 5 finishes.

On to the Chevy/Porsche duel at Laguna Seca!

Really annoyed at how Manu just went. Qualified 4th. Got dived by a Lancer at the hairpin on the GP circuit. Got a 1 second penalty for (apparently, I felt nothing) hitting him at the fast uphill left hander before the Rebel Tree. Also turned out he was on hards, so I was losing out even more. Got passed by one Porsche I've raced before who seems unaware of his surroundings which cost me time - which was meaningless, since he got a tyre penalty at the end.

On lap 2 I got passed by another Porsche going up the hill at the top of the circuit. Every lap I was terrible at the right hander leading up there. We were side by side for the first half then I ended up in the wall, and lost another place to the pole-sitting McLaren F1 who had spun earlier.

Ended up in front of the Lancer from before in 6th and 7th on the last lap. We were both just about surviving. The McLaren in 5th spun going into youtube corner and I ended up running wide and getting a ******** track limits penalty. I then messed up the next two corners and ended up 5th. I got passed on the straight by the McLaren and they both managed to go through the final corner cleanly, so I ended up 7th. With a promotion of one place. I'm really annoyed by that, even 4th I could have taken as a result but I feel as if I've lost out for no reason.

Nations on the other hand...

Gran Turismo™SPORT_20200704145321.jpg

@Pigems's suspension, @Mistah_MCA's gears and downforce. You could make 5th gear shorter I reckon, although I saved more fuel than the only other car I was fighting I was losing a lot of time on the big straight after the bridge. I also joined the #slammed crew, putting the camber to max on the rear wheels. Very few people in my race did that, and I think it showed.

3S/3M/1H/3S. If you practice for this race you will get a result. I was the only person to go below 2:50 or 2:49 in the race. This is also the highest score I've ever had.

What a disaster that was. Knew Nurb would be risky even though I’m fairly strong on the track, but that was just horrible.
Qualified 4th in my Genesis with an 8:23. Would have had 2nd if I hadn’t had gone onto the grass the last corner before the final straight losing all my speed. T1 of the race....i was put into the barrier on that chicane bit, had to reverse off it to get round, then got smashed and punted to bits picking up 4 separate penalties for being hit totalling 10.5 seconds and crawling with heavy damage in 19th. Finished 9th in the end which I suppose isn’t bad Considering but SR got destroyed from 99 to 84
