At least you guys got past the first corner. That entire first section in reverse is throwing me for a loop that is driving me crazy. Nailed it a few times and got some great lap times, but when you get it wrong 9 out of 10 times, IDK if it's worth attempting in a setting with other cars.

It's actually a really fun track in reverse (and forward, for that matter). But it is tough to get your head around it at first, I totally agree... I felt lost when I first ran it in Dailies, but then I got a win there after sticking with it (in the Gr3 Supra, which really suits the place, with its surgical handling and smooth power delivery)

But it is one that requires some commitment to really get up to speed in, but I'd say, give it a try. I think the fictional tracks are great in GT Sport, this one included. It really rewards good work, and there are some options for racing when you are in a competitive field, which reward some creativity...

Yessssss can’t believe I got a win! So rare for me!!

Started 5th on Softs and had worked my way through to 2nd place early on. Myself and the leader in a Renault pulled out a decent gap. Leader pitted lap 7 and I was still lapping pretty close to my fastest lap so stayed out longer to work a bigger gap. Pitted lap 9 for Hards and came out in the lead still, then pitted again for Mediums coming out in 2nd behind a WRX who hadn’t pitted yet. He pitted lap 11 and I stayed out in front for the rest of the race. Hands got a bit wobbly with the nerves on the last lap! Delighted with the win and can now take the rest of the night off :)

@kirethk streamed this race, and said that my comment that this driver was an utter tumour was "a bit harsh"

(it wasn't; it was merely the approximate upper limit of how I can refer to someone as dickish as that in a PSN-hosted chatbox)

Nice to meet You all. My first post here... Could You be so kind and show it once again, but from rear view of my car or better the Turkish guy car? I just want to see it.

Manu Series First Slot

Number 15 on the door. Qualified in 6th place. Gained 2 positions on first lap. Running solid in 4th and opening a gap to the cars behind. and then slipped on the grass on the big five left hander! (I never make mistakes there!) and down to 15th.

Went flat out to recover and managed to finish 8th!

Car got banged up by this dude trying to get me off the track several times.. I was like “wtf?” but he got a 4sec penalty.

10S/3M/1H and no gas savings.

Gained few points and 500 DR points. Will call it a night or even though I think I could’ve done better.

Manufacturers Series Round 21 - Lago Maggiore Gr3

After a disappointing Nations Cup race at Laguna Seca, was hoping for a better result at the Manufacturer Series event at Lago Maggiore. Jumped in for the first time slot race, and was a little bummed to see I was #1 on my grid, but the good news meant that I was matched with @Keith2324 who was #20! So we covered the field! I did recognize a lot of the names in there, many that I haven't raced against much lately, and a few that I was skeptical of given some memories of rough stuff. And that didn't even consider the guy with the PSN ID IWRECKUTOO (oh boy...)

So I committed to being even more careful than I was in the Nations race, to make sure I was Top 10 and then see how much better I could do from there. I had decided on using the Softs for one stint, but wasn't sure when to put them on. Decided to start on M's and let the race dictate what I did from there.

As I suspected, there was some more rough stuff early on, and I tried to avoid it. BajanFish got into me in the last section, but I knew it wasn't intentional and I knew he had his hands full with the mob around us... so I wasn't bothered. Did get the stupid undeserved SR hit and penalty, but it's expected at this point so I didn't get mad. I just knew I'd have to work hard to get to my target.

Fun racing with @Keith2324 !

Put on the required set of Hards after 7 laps, then swapped them out for the Softs to finish the race immediately after. Was 13th with 3 to go, and passed 6 people on the Softs at the end, 5 of them on the track and @Keith2324 finally as he ducked in for his last set of tires (ok, 4 of them, but the last guy ducked into the pits because he hadn't changed his tires and I was going to get him at the line anyway...).

So got my targeted 8th or better position with 7th place, after a very tough race where I got the best result available considering where I was mid-race, but where I may have done better with a better strategy (either 6S/6S/2M/1H or just starting on S's)... nearly recovered the DR I'd lost in the last couple of races and nudged my FIA points total up a bit in line with my goal there.

…and after that poor performance in the Nations race, where I just barely beat the only Corvette in the field, at least I was the top Porsche in a race with a fair number of them in the field.

While the grid included some dodgy characters, I managed to avoid anything terrible and I have to say that the guys around me raced respectfully and it was fun. I appreciated it but I'm wiped out now... recalculating your strategy while driving at speed is exhausting!

That was a fun race!!! I do love that layout, I don't think there's and easy corner on it though :scared:

Did 10 mins warm up and managed a high 55 but wasn't feeling confident at most of the track and was half regretting my decision to jump in last minute. However I ended up door number 17 and in a lobby with a few known players I hadn't raced in ages so it was nice to see them again. I Managed an iffy qually and then binned my final attempt so qualified p12 with a 56.5.

Knowing I had pace in the bag and gaining confidence with every lap I decided to throw Meds on and go for a 3 stop. 3 Quit by the hairpin on lap 1 and I'm up to 11th, dropping off the front group and feeling pressure from behind. I get punted into the hairpin after the esses and end up p15. The player waited for me but then quit sadly. I pit for hards and am now dead last in p17. Following lap I pit for softs and am 6 seconds back from 16th. After what seemed like an eternity I caught the group up and jumped a few as they pitted. I then miscalculated and did 7 laps instead of 6 and came back out in p12 behind a Porsche and a corvette. 2 laps to go the Porsche pits and its 1 vs 1 against the corvette who gave a fair and good defence but had to give in to my superior pace on fresher tyres. Then on the final corner someone had hit the pit wall so I jumped up to p9.

I'm really enjoying the FIA series more casually instead of worrying about points etc. Good, clean racing with a bit of strategy thrown in, happy days.

1:56s is actually a decent race pace to be honest. That's about what I'm running with a couple of 1:55s early on. I've gotten my qualifying down to 54.8xx to 55.1xx but I can't maintain that pace. You may be surprised!

The 1:56.xxx was done in the free practice with no fuel or tire wear and was only done maybe twice, otherwise I could only consistently do 1:57s because I just could not get comfortable with the rhythm of the track. I didn't want to go ahead and try that out with other cars and a heavier and less grippy car lol, I've already had enough blows to my confidence in the FIA races recently

Koz, sorry about the rough stuff. I haven't watched the replay yet, but I had a guy all over me. When I punted you, I tried to block him so you could pass and get your position back but the damage had been done. As always, it was great racing with you. Hope to see you in the next one.

No worries at all... I was never chuffed about the contact from you. 1) I know you race clean 2) I was putting myself at risk with some crap driving in that sector- and you had gained the inside fairly 3) I knew you had your hands full dealing with the Wolfpack behind us both! It was a fun race. Was glad to see you on the grid, we book-ended the field so it was nice that it worked out to race with you!

I did watch the replay, it was nothing to be sorry about. The SR reduction and penalty was dumb but we've come to expect that from the game lately, so no use complaining! The other guys were cool about things the rest of the race, too, I have to say, even if it seemed early that it was gonna get nasty.

21:00 EDT Nations Cup: Autodrome Lago Maggiore - GP II

I’ll save you some time....it’s was awful.

I arrive to the track with 18 on the door and recognize a few names. I qualify 14th and figure I will get the hards out of the way. Bad idea..... first turn, the uphill right off of the main straight, my cold hard tires have me slide right into the wall. I know it’s my fault but I thought I would have some grip... Lap 1, turn 1 and I’m P20.

I do a lap on hards and put on mediums. I catch a few due to them serving penalties and offing themselves. No matter, I never make it past P16. I do 5 laps on mediums and put on the softs. By lap 10, P17 and P18 are catching up and I decide to get a new set of softs for the end stretch. I don’t why I did it, the tires were still good. I come out P20. I get up to P18 which is the end of the 15-18 train. For the last 2 laps, we all swap spots.

On the last lap, I am P18 As we come up to the left towards the penalty zone. The Jaguar that just got past me at the previous esses, takes the inside and the P16 Corvette didn’t see him and bounced off into the wall. On the left before the final right, the Jag takes the inside to squeeze past the GT-R and I try to fit right behind him. The GT-R either wasn’t having it or didn’t see me but he swings left almost forcing me off. I slam the brakes to take the inside on the final turn. I barely make it and the GT-R goes just a bit wide and taps the left wall going to the start/finish line. I bring it home in P16. I checked the replay to make sure I didn’t force him in to it...luckily I didn’t.

Oh well, on to the next one. See you out on the track!

Laguna Seca has always been a tricky track of mine to get right 100% of the time, but I was feeling confident, since I knew the track and car. All of my recent races have been busts, so I was hoping for a decent result.

Qualifying was mediocre. I couldn't hook up a solid lap and could only qualify 15th, which didn't bode well.

Race start was uneventful, luckily. I was able to keep up with 14th, and I was able to stay far enough ahead of 16th to prevent them from making a move on me anywhere. On Lap 2 I gain a spot because 14th spins themselves out, and another incident ahead puts 13th in front of me. However, the person behind is all over my rear, but also incredibly patient, too. They make a good move on me out of the Corkscrew, but run wide and I'm able to get back around. However, now we've lost time to 13th and I have no draft to help my defense. On Lap 5 an incident occurs before the Corkscrew. I inherit 13th and pull right up on the Corvettes bumper ahead, but they slowly pull away, and the person behind me finally makes a pass on me stick. Coming into Lap 7 I run wide into T2, allowing the person behind to overtake. I get passed into T7 as well, but 12th spins on the exit of the Corkscrew, meaning I get back into 13th. I'm able to maintain a gap to the person behind until Lap 11, when they go for a move into T2. It's fair as I went wide, but then they decide to run wide nudge me. It's the dirty Canadian from the Blue Moon Miata TC one-make race a while back, so it figures. Just glad he decided to not ram this time. There's now a huge gap to the people behind, but the dirty Canadian and I end up catching up to another driver. He gets pass into the final corner, while I'm able to pass into T2 when the two bump. I try to hold them off but they overtake me the next lap, and I come home 14th.

The race was another waste of time as the points total of 108 doesn't help me at all. I decide to call it a day since I didn't think I could go any faster. I just didn't have the pace.

Last Saturday the Nations race featured my favorite car in the game, and this Saturday the Manufacturers race is at my favorite road course in the game. Now if only they'd make an F1500T-A race at Yamagiwa...I'd be unstoppable! :mischievous:  (I wish)

Whew. The Manufacturers race was fun, the Corvette felt great. I never got a clean lap in qualy. My best being a 1.56:8 or so, almost a second off My best practice laps. I was Q9 with door number 5 on the car. At the start two went off and I had 7th clean. Lap 3 there were a couple guys battling hard, banging, In a Supra and Porsche and both almost came to a complete stop after the first right had turn back into the infield. I squeezed in between them and was in 5th mid race. Then 4th place pitted and I inherited 4th without ever seeing him on track. I ran Softs 10 laps, Medium 3 and last lap on hards, finishing 4th. 21 seconds behind the winner who was the only A+ driver in the race, 1.4 seconds behind 3rd and 6 seconds ahead of 5th. 145 pts.

I actually am starting to like this track in reverse... during practice once I sorted out how early you need to turn in and trail braking on nearly every single corner, I gained nearly two seconds a lap from where I started.

A night of ups and downs for me, couldn’t get anything going until the last slot. 1st race lost 300DR, 2nd I rage quit. That knocked me back another 1400. 3rd I was in with wedjim and finished 15th. Was going to quit for the night but wanted that DR back. Finally got some rhythm going and came in P3. If it wasn’t for the R8 being terrible on gas might have got a victory. The 1100 DR was a nice consolation, still in the minus for DR on the night but not as bad as it could have been.

Really interesting race in the Manufacture’s Cup this weekend. My braking foot is a bit sore after the go at Laguna the other day, but got to a high 1:40 lap in about 4-5 laps of testing. The Ferrari likes this track, just got to improve on the sweeping turn 1 and corner after the esses.

Actually had fun with this one. Qualified 13th and on the lap 2 of the race in turn 1 the rear end steps out but kept it under control on the grass only losing a position. This race plan was just stay smooth and making that one mistake be the only one and just stay consistent while others would mess up and get penalties. Worked up to 6th spent the rest of the race chasing the Subaru for trying to put him on edge to make a mistake but never happened. At the end I finished P5 as the leader got a 1 min penalty for not changing his tires. First time I actually enjoyed racing on this layout.

Small rant while testing for Yamagiwa.

The Alfa 4C has less power than the Scirocco and Audi TT, but is 230kg heavier. That isn't including the RCZ either.

I think I will upload a lap later this week because it has no acceleration, and is an unstable mess that shreds the outside rear tyre.

I am prepared to say that the FF cars in the past 2 Gr4 races are much more OP than the 4C was, before it had it's BoP nuked after Round 8. The Alfa needed a nerf but this is taking the p*ss.

Given the settings, I guess the Nations race on Saturday is gonna be another no-stopper 20-minute sprint ?
I won't be able to test before Saturday but 6x wear on SH tyres seems pretty low, not to mention 2x fuel usage.
Plus, I'll only have one shot at it and I already fear the grid start and T1

So I'm questioning right now if it's gonna be worth training for 1 hour just for one slot!

Depends how quick you are around there! It is just a sprint, no fuel or tyre saving anywhere in sight

I was going to wait until R3 in this series for both championships but I might have a go at the double header on Saturday. Quite like Bathurst in the M3, and am trying to get down to a reasonable lap time at Yamigawa - a track I know where the corners are but have hardly driven and am currently way off the pace

I tried the Megane Trophy today and best i could do is a 1.42. (low B level) on the straights other cars just pull away and i can't keep up. Not sure yet if i will run at Yamagiwa, think it will be a frustrating race. Guess it is the same with the Alfa, that indeed got nuked at the last BoP update....

In 4 laps in the Audi TT Cup (which I hardly drive) I set a time that right now would put me P1 in Oceania and P11 globally (1:37.315). Times of 1:36.x are possible with this car.

I spent the 30 minutes trying to nail a time trial lap in the Alfa, the best I got was a 1:38.1. My optimum is around 1:37.8, but I am not sure if that includes the laps where I cut the chicane and hit the next timing sector.

Here is the video:
