In 4 laps in the Audi TT Cup (which I hardly drive) I set a time that right now would put me P1 in Oceania and P11 globally (1:37.315). Times of 1:36.x are possible with this car.

I spent the 30 minutes trying to nail a time trial lap in the Alfa, the best I got was a 1:38.1. My optimum is around 1:37.8, but I am not sure if that includes the laps where I cut the chicane and hit the next timing sector.

Here is the video:

Morning! So next Nations round is BMW at Mount Panorama, loving it:) Question: anyone got some GTP livery for the car? My artistic skills are none, and if I would make livery... Just no:lol: Can you share it, so I could proudly represent?

Ask and you shall receive, here's my version of a GTPlanet livery, definitely not based on another design :lol:

I have my moments.

But really, it's the car

Small rant while testing for Yamagiwa.

The Alfa 4C has less power than the Scirocco and Audi TT, but is 230kg heavier. That isn't including the RCZ either.

I think I will upload a lap later this week because it has no acceleration, and is an unstable mess that shreds the outside rear tyre.

I am prepared to say that the FF cars in the past 2 Gr4 races are much more OP than the 4C was, before it had it's BoP nuked after Round 8. The Alfa needed a nerf but this is taking the p*ss.

Guess it is the same with the Alfa, that indeed got nuked at the last BoP update....

I was complaining about the Alfa Gr.4's complete uselessness down the straights at Red Bull Ring Short:

Well, yesterday was a total disaster. Neither of my races went well despite the no-stop. The first race had me on track for a decent 11th place, only for the horde to descend upon me in the final two corners and I fell down to 15th in the ensuring chaos with a track penalty. Race 2 wasn't much better, as I was swiftly overtaken by the one-stoppers and finished a distant 13th, 3 seconds off 12th. Defending feels completely pointless when everyone can just mug you down the straight with superior power and slipstream while keeping up on the straights is completely out of the question for the Alfa, let alone overtaking.

The Alfa Gr.4 has been garbage ever since the May patch. The only thing the June patch fixed was the very loose rear end that made the Alfa even slower through the corners. The Alfa does not sip fuel, go easy on its tyres or fly through the corners, which makes its abysmal straight-line speed all the more glaring. The fact that the Alfa has spent over a month being at the rock bottom of Gr.4 is why I'm focusing on Nations instead.

If you want to emulate Mahaveer Raghunathan driving a 2019 Williams with a GP2 engine, try the Gr.4 Alfa. You won't be disappointed.

Thats really nice livery! Definietly I will use it saturday, thank you:cheers:

Edit: are you gonna use it too? It would be funny if get matched in the same race in same cars:lol:

I wouldn't be concerned with the RCZ in this one. It may be fast on the qualify but at the race with full tank it has no power whatsoever...pretty sure no Peugeot driver will do well there...not talking about Derek 717 of course

First race as a star player just wanted to go out and not embarrass myself, tbh. I knew I was quick from doing lobby races punching above my weight with good times, however I managed to wreck in just about every single lobby race I had entered.

Y'all ever join the 1st slot an hour early and forget you're in time trail mode and end up missing the slot? Lol, yeah that happened. So after waiting another hour I finally joined the 2nd slot all A/S 40k DR lobby

Ran twice although I probably should have went all 5 slots nobody was keeping up with me... qualified on pole for both races with mid 1:55.4xx to 1:55.7xx nearly a full second ahead of the competition. The Ford GT is FAST around this track. Managed to have one pretty abysmal lap in each race that helped change the outcome but the first race I decided to fuel save after leading majority of the race and still came up a lap short, went 8S-5M-1H while the guy in 2nd opted for the three stopper 6S-6S-1M-1H that mistake on my lap put nail in the coffin for me, ending up 2nd for 183 points.

Decided I'd run again couple of slots later after a long debate with myself. Accept the 183 and 3rd best point total or roll the dice? Decided to roll the dice and ended up in the exact same lobby pointswise, great. This time there was a couple more Ford drivers, my rival qualifying 4th? Up front with me(1 point lead in the standings over this person) I decided not to fuel save at all and go for the 3 stopper which was a mistake. Although I had a good 6 second gap over 2nd and pulling away I had that one bad lap again and didn't help I was 4 laps shy of finishing the race with 2 laps shy of making my pit window lap 12. Turned the lean up to 6 and limped to pit lane 0% fuel, went into pits with the now leader who had 16% with 2 to go.. gave up 4 sec gap and I couldn't recover after refueling.

It was still a win though for me 184 points for 2nd place while finishing 5+ seconds ahead of the rival Ford who finished 3rd so I'd say it was a success. I felt like an alien on Maggiore but couldn't get the fuel saving down well enough, should have won both! 2600+ DR gained as well!

Looks like that three stopper was the right way to go, I was hesitant to go that route!

I was in your first race. Qualified 15th had door number 16, finished 11th and lost 400 DR:irked:.

Raced you in dailies a couple weeks back, knew I had no chance when the lobby names were revealed!!

I thought I recognized some familiar names! Good racing with you, shoot me an add next time. Starting to get to where I recognize too many people, to busy saying hello instead of warming up, lol! That track is one of my strongest usually in the AMG though I'll be slow again next week

Just checked the Manufacturer's standings, and I moved up 6 spots overall to 102nd (and only 5 points and 1 position behind @Granadier). I also moved up 1 spot for Chevy from 5th to 4th place, because "our" fastest driver hasn't competed in any races since the first 4 after we were allowed to switch brands, and I finally overtook them in the standings. Not sure why they haven't been racing recently, but not having them (the only Chevy driver in North America to score over 300 points in any race) is definitely hurting our standings in the region.

With my favorite road course coming up on Saturday, I'm hoping to finally break into the Top 100.

I was running it at -2 for FP last night, haven’t tried it with fuel/tires on yet though. Don’t use 2nd gear for the first or last corners. :)

And set quite a nice time 👍. I also settled on a front BB (-3)

Any controller users who run max steering sensitivity - turn it down (below 5 for sure). Have to be very smooth with the M3 in order to not break traction (time killer)

Dunno what sort of NOS you were running in that Ford GT, but I want some of it. Nicely done.

Lol, the car was on point everything just flows right with the gearing setup in the GT on that track. One of these days I'm going to have to figure out fuel saving, can't treat every race like it's the daily!

Bit of a rollercoaster ride the last two days.

Did one Nations race with the Cayman and won. Don't really like how that car drives though.

Tried Manu three times. First time, slid off T1 on mediums and kept making uncharacteristic mistakes. P4 and P2 the next two races. Thought the points for P2 would be far more than P1 the last two slots but it wasn't for slot 4. At least until I checked online and the points were adjusted to make it a tie. So I finally earned some Manu points but it should've been more.

Did a quick test of Yamagiwa. The only positive regarding the GT-R is that I can do a 10S/1M stint. However, times fall off while I suspect most others won't. Also, FF will dominate qualifying once again which is a problem. I'll make a concerted effort to draft one.

Finally, a rather late video regarding the last Manu Top 16 for NA. This morning, I finally came up with a proper meme for what happened.

For some reason the Top 16 NA round 20 replay hasn’t shown up on the Gran Turismo YouTube channel. Hmmmmm

Thats happened to me in a Daily Race before... it's been a while. Twice, I think... one time the cars all started spinning round and round while stalled there before the S/F line! Would have been the perfect music to accompany it... LOL

In other FIA race glitch news-- when I ran a second race at Lago Maggiore yesterday, on my newer Alt account, it was weird... on lap one, there was a car that was really slow off the grid at the start, then midway around on the first lap, there was a car amongst us in the top 5 that was shown as P19 and ghosted... now mind you, this was the FIRST LAP!?? I passed him (he was running off pace...) and the top 3 carried on seemingly ok.

But also: the Blue Flags were being displayed all around the track. I inherited the lead when the leader botched the first banked hairpin, and I was seeing them still all the way around the

I don't know what that was about, but it was weird. I didn't remember to save the replay to see WTH happened. Anyone else ever see anything like that?

I will boycott gr4 races untill they
- fix gr4 bop (highly unlikely, because after almost 3 years we have this circus)
- separate ff cars from it
- convert ff-s to 4wd / swap them for 4wd models like tt rs quattro, golf r 4motion etc
this will be the 3rd race in a row that ff cars (audi tt most of all) will win with 50% effort
I wont participate in that. instead, I will start stream and write boycott with giant letters
I also call every not-ff driver to sit out gr4 races

I like your call to action, but I'm back with Mazda. Want to see how the Atenza goes in this race.

I think in the race itself, the best BB will be about -1, 0, or maybe even a bit to the rear, if only to better balance the tire wear.
Have whatever BB you're more comfortable with, the tyre wear is non-existent

Yes 3rd. That’s what the top guys are using at least. Want to minimize loss in time due to upshift.

Also helps with carrying corner speed, certainly in my case. Coming down to 2nd I find the car tends to slow down too much in those corners

I actually encountered the "pit lane glitch" in one of the Nations races last Saturday. I'd only previously ever encountered it in the public lobbies. Fortunately I was so close to the pit lane exit that my car just drunkenly stumbled its way out on to the track (backwards) and I was actually able to get on with my qualifying session.

I also had an FIA race at Monza a while back (I forgot which series it was for), where after I made my pit stop, the game refused to give me "clean" sectors for the entire rest of the race. Every sector I completed would just flash the split time without showing a green SR arrow, and I ended up losing SR for that race even though I'd only had one incident in the race itself.

Just before I got belted out of the way at Laguna on Tuesday, the chequered flag was waving on the penultimate lap. The guy who was leading the race at the end of lap 14 pitted to get the mandatory hard tyres on, giving up the lead to a car behind him, but when I came past 22s later the chequered flag was waving.

It didn't have any particular effect - nothing happened when I crossed the line - but I did think that it was odd.

I won’t run a Nations Cup Gr4 race. But the Manufacturers Series has so few picking those brands that it isn’t necessary.

I do think I’ve seen the checkered flag on the penultimate lap before as well. I first thought it was just because I was so far behind and it was out for the leader, but when I looked up to see, he wasn’t near at all, so it was strange. There wasn’t anything else that seemed impacted in that case either. Must be some bug!

This also happened at the F1 2018 Canadian GP. Only after waving the chequered flag early they had to call the race early because of rules or something. So these glitches can happen in real life too
