Ironically it was a Viper that ruined it. The same Viper that finished 2nd was the one who started the punt-train on Lap 3, then hit me from several car lengths back as they came out of the pits and gave me a penalty. Even with that I probably could've been in the mix for a podium if I didn't take fuel on my first stop. I think the added weight from filling up with enough fuel to go to the end, combined with the Medium tires, made me way too slow in that stint and put me on the back foot for the rest of the race.

I didn't even need the Mediums like we talked about to start a bunch of chaos behind me I was happy with my strategy though of 2-stopping instead of 3. I was a bit worried though I'd need a drafting partner to get it on pole so luckily that worked out going solo. You got yourself some good points in that next slot!

However, I did get an easy overtake courtesy of a Hyundai driver.

hehe...you're welcome! I normally don't completely murder someone when they tap me like that, but you're right in your assumption that we have a history. Just check your Alsace video for Part 47 in that saga. I didn't retaliate in that race and he still tried to take me out on the straight after serving his penalty for punting me. I wasn't about to let him do me like that again and get away with it. I have a feeling we won't be friends any time soon.

edit: also just gotta say, that's been one of my most effective punts to date! he did not recover, lol.

It's been a while since I've bothered to post in here, mainly because I've had nothing worth posting. It's been an abysmal start to the season with having internet issues and nearly 10k DR loss because of the disconnects.

The first race of the season at Seaside I was running 2nd on the final couple of laps and got DC'd so 0 points to show for it, then again at Monza I qualified on pole but got DC'd on the starting grid 🤬 the way the season started I didn't even have the motivation to run at Tsukuba.

Fast forward to Alsace where I finally got a decent finish and was able to finish the race  no issues! Only took me 4 weeks to get some points on the board, lol! Started 2nd on the grid behind TT Cup and managed to hang with him for a couple of laps but I started making mistakes on the same turn consecutively and his pace was much better than the Mustang, had a great battle with an Evo for 2nd up until my 2nd stop where I was no match in the fuel saving department where we went in together and left with a 3+ second gap. Overall it was a fun race and ended up finishing 3rd for 162 points. Good to see my teammates @Master Weasel & @hiortintexas in the lobby looks like they had a great battle with each other.

I had been waiting to get some revenge at Fuji since last season where I felt I should have won. Put down a great FP time and then started working on my qualifying time mostly in lobbies. Ended up putting it on pole and I knew it was a tough lobby with @Equus_ferrum in my lobby qualifying 3rd after he'd basically been right there with me in FP times or lobbies and Freeryd503 up front as well, he'd been kicking my butt at Brands Hatch all week. Great to see @Razgriz2118 as well it's been a minute! The first laps were a good battle trading back and forth with the NSX swapping the lead couple of times before managing to make it stick and Equus_ferrum overtakes him for 2nd. I figured it would be a dog fight, fighting off his Corvette in the Ford and he was right on my ass until lap 3 where it looked like a big chain reaction of about 3-4 cars getting punted in the chicane where I suddenly picked up a good 3.5 second gap from there it was just a matter of not messing up my own race in the clean air while everybody else fought back in the pack. Managed to bring home the victory with a really nice 6+ second gap crossing the finish line and my highest point total to date 210! I'll take it being one and done, wish I'd had the balls to go again since I really wanted to!

Well done buddy, you deserved it.

Manufacturers Exhibition Race 6 - Goodwood Motor Circuit
I have never raced on this track. I think GT Sport had the track in some sort of event.
The key is the first high speed turn as we want to just apply light breaking at the right time until you can get on full throttle.
This is were I did the most gains as I got used to the track.
Hope this lets and good luck at the race.

Tomorrow's going to be... interesting. Anyone else having visions of Goodwood turning into a demolition derby, or is it just me?

I feel lucky if I can do 5-6 laps in a row at pace without bottling it, let alone 15 with other people around and dirty air! If you see a purpley-blue Lucozade Sport livery Mitsubishi in your race tomorrow, I'd recommend keeping your distance.

I like the comic styled opening screen for your video.

An interesting track to race Gr4 cars on... would have preferred a road car or lower spec car to race in a Nations, but anyway... let's try it: something new! Essentially a qualifying race and a battle of wits to avoid mistakes.

I'm beginning to wonder if this was a bad week to pump my DR in the dailies, haha. I guess we'll know soon enough.

(I mean...pulling the main account into the Daily fray is always fraught with peril, since I managed to get bumped and brake checked down 49 SR in one race yesterday....)

Was looking forward to Goodwood, the Gr4 daily here was good and I enjoy the track. But after having to spend last night repairing SR from a run in with a paste eater I haven't turned a Gr4 lap there yet.

Turn 1 isnt half that nasty. It is just about finding the right brake marker to get a turn in to be on the gas right after that first false Apex. Hopefully my lobby struggles and I can get a good result, but the racing gods might have other plans.

Thanks! thought i was the only one who can not stay on track!!!!

Curbhog's guide did help, especially with the first corner, many thanks to him!!!!

did three practice races in the lobby and two were a nightmare, spending more time off track then on it.
the other one i actually won because i managed to stay on track while the rest did not, won with over 10 seconds on number two.

as long as nobody drives aggresively the race should be okay, so it will be a demolition derby indeed.
Most important is to qualify top 6 so that you start after passing the chicane and get a bit free space.

Think i will try to base my strategy on safe laps rather then fast laps.....

I'm counting on it. I'm just hoping that I can qualify far enough up the grid that I can create some distance between myself and the carnage. Times when it pays off to be in a FF car...

Yea that is an effect my editing took Final Cut have. Looks cool.
Yes it is an interesting track. As I mentioned in the video I have never seriously driven this. This will be my new track to take any road cars for a spin just for some entertainment.

Good luck to everyone racing tomorrow! I've been dying from job applications and school work, but since the last Manufacturers race was filled with action-packed moments followed by large chunks of nothing happening, I decided I'd make it a commentated video rather than a full race video. I would say it was good seeing @Jwptexas and @GTWolverine in the race, but they were way faster than me and thus much further ahead

I’m thinking if a Citroen driver qualified on the front row in your race slot, you might not be able to cleanly ever get around him. If he ran the middle down the straights, not a chance. Was stuck for like 5 laps in a test Arcade mode race behind one. And he was at best running mid 1:20 laps. Had to go 5 star GTA police and pit him down the straight.

In those cases you only have one thing to do, show your nose in before the corners just enough that he can't take the fastest line and harass him for a few corners until you are able to put the car side by side on the inside. You have to plan the move very carefully, but it works.

Had a great pass like this on Suzuka in the private league that I am racing. I was harassing the car in front all the way through the esses, then we were side by side before Degner 1 with me on the outside - he had a compromised line on Degner 2, I braked early and did the cutback and took the inside line.

Oof! 61 points if the race ended before it started.

Edit: Well, 18/19 to 10/19 to 14/19 for 96pts.

I had the pace. Way better than qualy. Just hit the brakes too early on the previous lap, that got the SLS in my tow.

The tyre wear is practically non-existent on the C7. Surprised my tyres were okay for the race.

Early on, some attrition by casualties. I think the pole sitter pitted after a crash. Citroen me and the C7 were racing did have better cornering. Just no top end. Oh well. Tokyo is next for me.

Qualified slowish but still p8 so starting ahead of the chicane. Pass up to p7 on lap 1 and promptly just clip the chicane at the end of the lap so down to p12. A blocker bottled us all up for several laps something nasty, and then I go for a pass, clear them, but they take the dive into that double corner and I dont see it so off I go. Fight back to p11 and said blocker is ung hosting ahead. But no idea when they will unghost. As I come up they move from the far right to block the track. I panic and move outside instead of in and off o go for a ride in the countryside. Race over. Only lap 8.

I drive off twice again while not paying attention and still finish p15. Points were rubbish, but I still wasn't last. I vented in post race chat, but mostly more grumpy about the unghosting block and late swerve blocking than the dive. That was a big chunk me as well. The other bits were all them.

Oh well, it figures, I like the track so drive poorly. Hope you others all get some good clean runs. 👍:D

Wish i hadn't bothered. Qualified 10th which puts you in the middle of the chicane. I was the only fool to go wide at T1 :banghead: and fell back to 14th. Moved up a couple of places when people made mistakes. I got tapped on the back going through the chicane and got a 1 second penalty for it. Next lap someone went wide after the chicane and came sliding back onto the track, as i went past his slow car on the inside of T1 i slightly clipped him and he went wide off the track. He was obviously still raging 2 laps later when he decided to full speed punt me off giving me damage and another penalty. Finished 16th with a heavy loss of DR and SR. :grumpy:

Didn’t really want to race here as the Lexus felt a little like a boat round here but I’ve only done 1 race so far this season so needed to get some points.

As expected, qualified right down in 17th. Just wanted to stay on the track and take advantage of any accidents. Had got up to 11th at one point but fell back to 13th and stayed there most of the race. Pretty pleased with that considering where I qualified.

The RC F felt strong to me. Trailbraking really got the nose pointing, so I could get on the gas early. Thought I'd be in understeer heaven, but not the case.

Yeah to be fair once I was in a rhythm it felt good. Didn’t go off the track at all. Only thing I wasn’t comfortable with was the shift in weight going through the chicane. Had to make sure I was nice and straight before coming out of it :)

Truuuuue. In FP, I was too early when steering and snapped the rear a couple times.

Was surprised the Hyundai was competitive, clocked a 19:18 race time and used the same approach with rear brake bias to counter understeer. Admittedly it was a lower split, but had the Genesis, SLS and GTR up the front.

Well, curious about this race, mostly because I have reached my bonus objective on Sunday with Brands Hatch- getting to A+. So no dailies on my main account from now on, I will keep it exclusively for FIA and private leagues.

I am confident for this race, the Viper feels good around here, I am able to get a 14.8 in quali if I nail the lap and 15.0-15.1 if I don't - from what I have seen in practice I should fight for a podium.

Had the race already in our private league, no stopper without any concern about tyres. I had a pretty easy victory(pole and 5s gap to 2nd place) even if the usual 3-4 contenders are faster than me...
