Nations Cup : nothing to say, grid full of aliens, including @mthomas_95, finished 18th

Man. Series: 4C gr.4 + Brands Hatch = Winning :sly: That - an unfortunate event involving someone spinning out = not so winning material :( Finished 10th with 1000 points

And you got like 200 points for P18 with aliens right? It's a shame...

Potentially the harshest penalty ever. Cost me 500pts and a strong result in the little Alfa. So frustrating :(

(No blame on Aderm btw, not mad at him in the slightest. The penalty system however)

how much was your penalty, I had one the exact same and I got 3 seconds and the other guy got 1 :O! It's a right pain in these scenarios!

I feel your pain. Had a 10 second penalty today at the Nurburgring for something similar, although yours was even lighter contact than my "crash"

Well I'm glad it's not just me who gets these stupid and unfair ten second penalties for nothing. Also how come some people can run wide without penalty but when I go there it's a penalty, some very odd things in this game. Do you reckon I can blame this same mysteriousness for my pace being off too, I was quite a bit slower than I'd expect today too, it was not good.:banghead::ouch:

Crazy... The game needs to look at gaps between nearby cars before giving 10s out, only give it if the affected car drops away significantly because it has been punted completely off or pushed into a wall or whatever.

fairly pleased with tonight's efforts overall.

did the Manufacturers Cup first, first time in the Carrera and not the best first impressions tbh, but I've driven worse. got into the 1:28s in practice which I wasn't overly happy with, but got 3rd on the grid - optimal lap would have put me on pole though.

race itself was fairly uneventful, lost a place on the first lap but kept 4th fairly comfortably, but kept on being slow out of the second last corner which let 5th keep in touch. eventually had a particularly rubbish second last corner, tried to overcompensate in the last corner, ran wide and lost a few places. made up a place or two due to people going off, then lost a couple when my overcut strategy failed miserably, and then gained a couple when the same people went off again. 6th in the end, not too shabby.

Nations Cup went better, qualified 3rd again. braked earlier than normal into T1 to try and avoid anyone in front, but put a wheel on the dirt on the left, got a wobble on and bumped the car in 2nd. I got a 3 second penalty (fair enough) but fortunately no damage done to the car in 2nd. Well, not til someone else totally wiped them out anyway. Someone else snuck up into 2nd, i got through again and stayed roughly 3-4 seconds off the lead, swapping fastest laps, before I got tired and started driving poorly and drifted to about 10 seconds off the lead. had enough of a cushion over 3rd though to burn off my penalty, so 2nd was mine.

DR is now almost as high as it's ever been too, soo good night all rough

The same incident happened to me on the same straight at Brands with @Matty28 a couple of months ago. (Again, not blaming Matty. He probably doesn't even remember it).
But the game is ready!...

I was in Top 10 during the Manufacturer Race right now. Comcast decided to be a piece of 🤬 and disconnect me.

You can blame me on this I just expect he get some ghosting but he not, get bamboozled again this is second time I get this surprise and I haven't prepare anything :dunce:

That didn't look deliberate on the other drivers behalf. Just watching the steering angle on his car, he doesnt turn to the right as he joins the track, it just kinda spits him to the right into your path. He should have taken a slower better line from the off as to avoid it, but it doesn't look like he deliberately punted you.

From what I've experienced, the penalties at T2 and T4 can be either really strict or really lenient depending on where and how you cross the boundary. Oddly enough, if you take a safe line but go just a bit wide you get a penalty, but for some reason if you blatantly go wide on the exit at a sharp angle it will let you get away with it

This track is beyond broken...

Running wide on turn 2, you need to exit the right of the track just as the green turf starts, and you need to enter the track before the green turf ends. If you exit after the start of it, or return to the track after the end of it, you will get a penalty. There is a specific line you can run. I think that whole area along the white line needs to induce a penalty so you can't abuse it like so.

Turn 3 and 4 are quite simple, you can get your outside tires onto the inside curbing, but any more than that you will get a penalty.

Running wide at turn 4 exit, as long as you rejoin the track by the end of the green turf beside the grass, you won't get a penalty. Any later and you will.

They are consistent penalties, but an interesting choice of what is and isn't allowed. White lines should be the limit for consistencies sake across all tracks.

I've not really played much FIA stuff - the pre-season hasn't really interested me and when I was racing online I'd been busy messing about with DR and SR, so mine was all over the place, and not conducive to big points. In fact I did a brief Daily just before a Season 1 event to get my SR up a bit for a better lobby... and it was a Tokyo smashfest that ended with my SR at E and a DR reset yay. Still, with my huge points total of about 260 (I got 29pt for WINNING that D/E race, although this was adjusted up to 41 for some reason), I was 1st in North Yorkshire and 92nd in the UK. Yay.

With Season 2 in mind I've been trying to get my DR/SR up this week, slightly delayed by a bit of damage to my right shoulder. Nonetheless, I got to B/B and entered the Manufacturer Series Gr.4 race at Brands Hatch. And it was a non-stop cavalcade of barge passing. At one point I got a 6s penalty because a guy who barged me in Westfield dropped it at Dingle Dell, drove his 4WD Evo down the grass on the inside and slammed into my door at Stirlings... Managed to end 4th thanks to making the most of clear air caused by others pitting, and running to lap 10 before pitting. Worth about 500pt in the end. There was an S driver in this race - Saudi flag - and he qualified 16th...

Unwisely I chose to enter the Nations Cup, this time at B/A (yes, I got A somehow in the Gr.4 race). Unwisely as I don't like the Ring GP/F or Gr.3 cars. Somehow I qualified on pole - don't know how; hate the track and car, and only did a 1'59.1. Survived the first corner, just, but got another barge pass for my trouble. Followed the guy round for a lap and then got demolished by a failure to brake from a 911 RSR, dropping from 2nd to 15th. Got a 6s penalty at the hairpin, after passing a guy round the inside because he braked late, then nudged into my door as he came off the rumbles on the left (still haven't figured this one out; he wasn't even off track, and he hit me...) and eventually made my way up to 6th where I got stuck behind a weaving Ferrari. Chose to pit early on lap 7 so he wasn't holding me up, then came out in 17th. As everyone else pitted I ended up 4th (again), jumping to a podium thanks to unserved penalties for the lead three cars. That one was worth about 400pt, although we'll see what it adjusts to later.

Well, my manufacturers race went good in the group 4 huracan. Started 2nd, got the lead shortly after the start. Managed to held off the lead nissan and one porsche before my pit stop. But I messed up slightly on my out lap and the nissan jumped me on pit stop rotation but not by much. Ended up less than 2 seconds behind the nissan at the end of the race in 2nd. Overall, i will take the points instead of risking it on the last lap.

Hey all! Does anyone know what time the top splits typically are in the US? Today being the 4th, splits will be all over the board and I had to get my race in early at 6pm to have time for family stuff.

Thanks for any tips!

Let down myself today, but surprised by my performance overall. Quali was so tight (a second between first and 15 th) and I messed it up to start 12 th. Someone hit me at the start and I was dead last but recovered to finish 10th. My pace was really good though and I got the fastest lap (in a room full of S drivers).

Did the Brands race early before all the really drunk people showed up, although I think there were a couple already in my race. I was off my practice pace in qualifying, ended up in 9th. End of first lap, someone ahead tries to burn a penalty on the final straight of all places, ends up causing multiple collisions and an off. Rest of the race I stayed out of trouble, kept a fairly consistent pace, and ended up in 4th. I think I won't push my luck with Nurb.

The only thing I can think is that because the other driver put two wheels in the grass after the impact, the game decided you were trying to punt them? I have no idea why else it would give you a 10 sec.

My finish wasnt so good because I tried to burn penalties by lifting on the straight, but somehow it didnt work?!
And being pushed off track earlier didnt help.

The UK region is super competitive. 11 of the top 33 in Europe are Brits, all with +2000 points. 3 spots for Nations is harsh.
It'll just mean that the 3 who do go will be very strong!
Nothing wrong with strong competition, brings out the best in everyone . You're right though trying to pick just 3 from that lot is impossible! :D

Some things never change....I haven't raced in an FIA championship race since January so I'm quite shocked to say the least. I would think most people would be like "It's the FIA races and not the dailies so let's just race fair and clean for max points"....nope!! It was a total fiasco with the typical dive bombing, brake checking, ramming and pit maneuvering action...from SR S no less....Qualified P5, by the start of lap 2, I was P15. Managed to salvage P8 after penalties applied. Unfortunately, there was no saving my SR which has now dropped from S to B. :banghead:

And what is the deal with the random ghosting??? 2 racers were in front of me battling it out, it would have been "interesting" to watch except they keep weaving though each other and literally sharing the racing line for 2 laps :irked:

Never going to complain about my pit crew again after my Nations race, qualified 4th, had no grip or speed, felt like my car was on a different tire compound than everyone else, fell back to 8th just due to being incredibly slow. Pitted at halfway, didn’t try to be strategic or anything. Came out 2nd!! No idea how. And miraculously my car started driving normally, instantly started running 1.5 seconds faster. Fell back to 3rd at the very end but still far better than I deserved.

Then disconnected from my Manufacturers race at like 3/4 distance, running 4th, oh well. Not a good start to the Subaru title defence. Was hoping to try to run the top 24 race for manufacturers since there’s only 2 spots for every brand...not now

So it happened again, 5th on manufacturer's on a quite strong lobby (scored 1780 points), 16th on nations scoring 400 points...

Just thought that this could actually be happening because... I get tired??

Nations could've been great, but I made a mistake in my qualy lap and ended up on 11th when I could've been 4th, after that, got a couple penalties from some rough fighting and not knowing the game track limits... Went to last... :banghead:

I had a feeling Brands Hatch was going to be damage limitation for the porky Jaguar and it was. The only chance I had was to absolutely nail my qualifier but I was held up on every single flier for a different reason. Got 9th on worn tires and my frustration for that qualifying session broke my rhythm. That and a Megane was all over me and I eventually let them through knowing I had no chance against it. The really sour part was my efforts to fuel save and I still got jumped by a Citroen in the pits. Lowly 7th and rather poor points as well.

Took a break and went for the last Nations slot. With it being Independence Day in the States, the Corvette with red, white and blue was the perfect choice. The race turned out in a way in which there is but one option to describe it.

I did it... for America!!! :sly:
