Same thing here. At least the championship format allows lee-way for connection problems and blue scree...oh wait, it doesn't

Still doesn't make sense that both championships are on the same day either, not sure why as PD you'd even want that but there you go.

Curse you psn. Says mine is currently under maintenance. Ruined my playlist of FIA race, then England then nother FIA race.

Same here :grumpy:. Funny thing, I was already connected, but did restart my PS4 to reduce the potential for blue screen. You see it helped, no problems with blue screen at all

make that two of us as I was also planning to have one race before I watch football, now that a missed round unless FIA says we get an extra day because of PSN issues

I'm just gonna put this out there: I don't like Monza at all. Too many tight corners. I had to stop and get disqualified during the 6 o clock race and enter the 7 o clock one. I was in a Veyron as that's the car that had lit up the practice time trial ranking board. It's just too heavy and cumbersome for actual racing. I think i'll try my luck with the Megane Trophy.

Monza is a bad omen for me. Especially the chicane at the start. Why have it?

UPDATE: It won't let me enter. Guess I've missed another race.

Hey guys! Guess who beat L-Shooter today in the Nations Cup? Enjoy. :)

EDIT: Huh, GTP doesn't allow yt videos anymore. Ok then, follow the link. 👍

Anyone knows if bump drafting is ok now? I mean no penalties or SR down?

What I understood from racing today's daily B (Gr3 at the Blue moon oval) you get SR deduction from bump drafting, even if you get a clean race bonus (and get all green SR sectors)... This isn't good at all.

My prediction is: a lot of top drivers will suffer a reset after doing both races, and may struggle to get back on the top splits later, also, the top 24 races will have a little bit less points given because of the lost DR on today's races.

The new penalty system is the worst thing to ever happen to this game.

The MAX contact penalty now seems to be 3 seconds, and you have to actually KILL someone to get one. Unacceptable. Welcome to dive bombers paradise.

watching the stream, bump drafting looks okay

I was in that race with Tidgney and bump drafting looked ok. Tried it just a couple of times and never got a penalty nor did I notice a SR down (statement without guarantee ;)). 5s I got from someone bouncing back from the wall in 90 degree. I think I hit him with 280 km/h, but no damage was done to our high quality GTS cars .
About the result not much to say. Lobby was too strong for me (door number was 19, Lexus) and it was my first oval race beside some lobby practise. Whole qualy i was hunting for slipstream (no success, maybe lack of experience). Race I started 18, found my self near top 10 after some laps, 5 s penalty finished 16th. I think I will not be a fan of oval races ;).

Livestreaming nations then manufacturers for those interested :)

Disconected from the nation cup at -50 minutes of the replay ... Seems that the daily gift distance reached provoque this ??? Strange . Just in case it's good to make the distance before entering the FIA race.

I did some test this afternoon and i share the results for who don't have the time to do this.
Bugati Veyron GR4 , Monza , 11 laps , set fuel 6 tires 7 .

1st race : pit lap 7 , change tires= 5 seconds, all laps in low to mid 1:57
2d race : pit lap 7 , no change tires, till lap 9 low to mid 1:57 lap 10 = 1:58.2 lap 11=1:59

I think it's better not doing tires change , 5 sec - 2 sec = gain of 3 seconds. Only the front left tire stay 50% wasted , all other 3 stay 65% to 75% with no effect on grip . The lost of time is mainly in last turn during the last 2 laps.

This can be a good option if you want to pass somebody during the pit or take out the pressure staying free of somebody after you wanting to put a strong final forcing pressure .

If nobody in front or after you , change the tires to stay safe , no need to gain those 2 or 3 seconds.

Good luck , see you tonight.

I was able to get 5s (see my previous message), but you are correct - he/she wouldn´t survive irl ;).

I can't stand it when i get in a lobby with a player who lags frequently, and even writes in his welcome message "Keep away from me, i have lagging issues!". Why should i keep away if it is your fault?

As i feared, i got hit by his lagging constanlty, got 15s penalty ruined my race, he finished 9th. No wonder when you're lagging all other people off the track and into penalties, you can always finish high. Hope PD does something about that and disconnects them. I think when you know that you have lags, it is a bit selfish. /rant

Cheers for tuning in guys, as always on those I'm happy to answer any questions! The blue screen can be caused by the daily workout, that's happened to me a couple of times and I think @OutlawQuadrnt to I think? I know someone mentioned it in the past! It's really, really frustrating at least we could join again! Definitely need to give more leniency to it though

You are correct. I distinctly remember after one crash that the game immediately awarded me the daily workout car upon re-entry. After you had mentioned your crashes, I decided to focus on when the game gives you the daily workout car and found out that the game doesn't always give it to you after earning the miles and exiting whatever event you were doing. In fact, the delay is long enough that you could jump into another event before you get the car.

Therefore, I have a theory of how one could blue screen more often for an FIA race.

1. Boot up GT Sport.
2. Jump into practice for the FIA race.
3. Run enough laps to earn daily workout car.
4. Exit practice and go into entry without going back to home screen.
5. Eventually, game realizes it needs to give you a car but you're in a lobby.
6. Game crashes.

Can't say whether this is the root cause but I have started to make sure I get my workout car first before I do an FIA race.

did you turn off your eco-setting on your TV?

Well, the new penalty system can give 10 second penalty, as I experienced myself :indiff: still it's more forgiving than usual, so let's see on the long run :) as for the races today I was really sucky and a bump from a french guy at Blue moon ruined a great race which I started 2nd :guilty:

Once again made a meal of the Nations Cup race. Bottled it in quali and struggled badly in the race and only ended up in 12th. Thanks to the brilliant decision of starting the proper FIA championship during the World Cup and with England v Croatia gone to extra time, I'll miss the last Manufacturers Cup race. It might actually be a blessing in disguise as Blue Moon has a tendency to be absolute carnage.

EDIT: Didn't know until now that races run until 22:00 so I'll get to have some slipstream carnage in a few mins!

Not difficult to figure out what my weakness is in todays FIA races, qualified 19th at Monza and 17th at Blue Moon. Managed to get 10th in the Nations and 7th in the Manufacturers with some fuel saving and safe driving, but qualifying so badly does make it tough.

I would ask that people:
a) Don't cruise on the racing line - lost my 2 fastest laps at Blue Moon to that
b) Use their radar in the race - got slammed into the wall a couple of times by people who just didn't know I was there

Would say that the penalty system seemed to work at Blue Moon as I got hit numerous times, and while I had a red S at the end of the race, I never got a penalty.

Nations was meh, didn't like the combo but could still hope for a top 5 in the lobby, but small mistake and bump from me got me a 10 seconds penalty, then people outright pushed me from the side off track and did not get anything.

Manufacturers was fun 99% of it, I was doing it with friends and the race was good, until the very last lap. Got out of 1st corner on the inside of someone else, left him space, but as people in front go down, he pushes me with "punt protection" (I'm sure most will know what I mean by that) on a guy who was on my left, rear fender on his front fender, go pit manoeuvered, from top 5 to dead last. The only one who got penalties was me for wall contact and "cutting" in the grass. I'm devastated, this just ruined my possibilities to attend top 24 tomorrow.

The penalty system just has to be ditched completely and rebuilt from scratch, it's either too sensitive and you can't race, or everyone can just push their way in, andthe ghosting and punt protection thing are plain stupid. I'm disgusted right now.

Manufacturers race was really fun and going well until the pit stops came. I suddenly found myself 2 seconds behind the guy who pitted right in front of me and I ran out of fuel at the end :(:( Crawled home to 10th. I can't wait for season 3 lol. Season 1 was very good but season 2 has kicked me in the ass big time.

Question: Would anyone else happily see see Monza removed from the game?

The track is great outside of the game, but the penalty system doesn't work well with the circuit, the amount of early braking causing 10 second penalties, the lack of time in quali along with the blocking, it's a total mess.

Also, forcing drivers to race in all 3 races to enter Top 24 is silly

I was one of those people who was overjoyed to have Monza in the game and I have to say, I didn't think it would cause so much crazyness in the game. Theoretically speaking, this track should be great for racing but I guess the type of drivers people encounter in the game just turn it into some impractical rubbish.

With that said, I'm still at work now but I'm really debating whether I want to take part in that Nation race today...plus it's Gr4 and that's not too appealing to me either

I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you know you can win the race instead of racing mid-pack. In the middle of the pack, many drivers bottle it and brake too early.

Okay, so i was not expecting my qualifying for the manufacturers race to be fine. Was kind of off the pace during the first qual runs, but after i pitted for new tires, managed to squeak a 10th place starting position. As for the race, i happened to gain three spots and finished 7th in the huracan 12 seconds behind the winner. At this point i will take the 450 or so points and hope that the next race at dragon trail seaside in the gr4 huracan will suit me better.

Only did the manufacturers race this time around
Quali wasn't great, the lap was around what I was getting in practice but it was only good enough for P14, I guess I needed a slipstream or something
For the first few laps I did make a couple of positions but then got pegged back so decided to start saving fuel. On lap 8 I gained 6 positions from a crash up ahead. Took it to lap 14, ran out of fuel going into the pits, definitely pitted a lap too late. Came out in 11th and set about catching the cars ahead, was in a battle for 9th for a few laps but just got ahead going into the last couple of laps, gained about 4 positions on the last 2 laps thanks to people having issues with fuel and in the end it was P5. Pretty happy with the result given how quali and the first stint went

_interesting moment at about 8:00_
