I’d like to try my hand tonight, but I wanna watch the Liverpool-Roma football match, because ‘Pool is just amazing to watch this season. Muhammad Salah in particular.
Perhaps I can squeeze in a race or two...

Yeah I remember a Brands Hatch top 24 race a few months ago where even the 3rd fastest NA time would've been last in Europe. Hopefully when the official season starts it brings your top guys back, because they do help raise your game. Guys I looked up to in Europe 2-3 months ago I'm beating regularly now because I've been able to measure my progress against them as they come up in a lot of my races.
I'd say my progress has stalled close to where I had been in GT6. Basically, the top guys are consistently at least 1 second faster than I am per lap.

Yesterday's races were good. If there was a trophy for most positions gained other than racing for them, it might be named after me.

Nations tonight a battle of attrition with the green astroturf of death catching everyone in my race out at some point.

Shame Manufacturers is on the reverse infield. It's every bit as bad as the forwards configuration is good.

Yeah those Skylines were hard work on Suzuka (i spent a lot of time at spoon right on the edge of those astroturf bits), but I quite liked the infield blue moon that way - thought it flowed quite well but I did have to throw in a stupid mistake to give me 6 seconds of penalties

I absolutely loved the Blue Moon A reverse! First time I ever drove there and the first sector alone is an epic thrill ride.
After two races to forget in Monza and Brands (both ruined by stupid penalties) it was nice to be back on form and the Vette was working quite well on the track as long as you took it easy on the left front tyre. The Ferrari seemed to suit the track really well and without his off in the beginning @Twissy would've made my life at the front much more difficult! :nervous:👍

I was getting there eventually in the Ferrari but thanks to that Monza result I can afford to pick and choose now, Dragon Trail on Friday for me next as I hope if enough people stop racing at BB they'll stop wasting a slot with it

The Blue Moon reverse was more challenging than the normal for me. There are many turns that you can take it and still keep high speed. I kept messing up the last part for some reason, everybody would get a much better exit speed than mine.
Had a nice workout from 12th to 4th position regardless, battled against a french for some laps for the 3rd place but my nerves gave up on 19th and lost it after the last turn exit. It was quite fun!

I'll avoid BB Raceway, no way i'll get in that mess

I think that track (Infield A II) leads to great racing, I had a 5 lap battle with an Hyundai in my Alfa Romeo. He was able to pass on the straight if he was within half a second coming out the last corner but I would make it all up on the infield section around the slow corners, because the car is so agile I could just drive around him in the first corners. The cars were totally opposite but at the same time equals, we both set exactly the same fastest lap time and finished a couple of seconds apart (I won).

Got a blue screen even before the warm-up of the nations cup race even started.

A DR hit of about 1400 points, and of course no chance to race later.

Great!

I said before the Nations Cup race at Suzuka that my objective was to keep the R32 on the track.

That lasted until I reached 130R when I carried a bit too much speed. Really bad mistake trying to keep it tight rather than let the car go wide. Rear tire clipped the green stuff and it hooked me left and into the dirt where I lost so many positions getting back out. For once, I actually had the pace to battle at the front and I threw it away. :dunce:

On the plus side, the eventual video will be an entertaining one.

Manufacturer's, cannot stand Blue Moon Infield Reverse. Understeered bad entering that tricky corner on one lap and got hit from behind trying to lift out of it. Yet I finished within ten seconds of the lead cars at the end and I might've had a chance for 3rd with one more lap. The only real change from all prior races were wheel settings I had used for the R32 which I left in place.

Edit: Clip is up. There were a lot more close calls than I thought there were. :boggled:

after taking a wee break for my wedding I jumped back on sunday and just had a horrendous time, same monday, I left tuesday out and took a couple of days to mull it over, think I really have been pushing too hard expecting more than ability can give, those two races were mistake filled and generally very poor, refreshed I jumped in tonight and qualified better in both races and raced better too, finishing in top 10 both races, which I was pleased with.

Something about oval races that really clicks with me, had I not bumped the right hander wall twice on BB I would've been 5th (5sec for a wall tap that slows me down? pls PD pls not like I'm cutting the corner haha)

Has there ever been a race where a car you've practiced with suddenly behaves so differently that you can't believe it's the same car? Well, that happened today with the GT-R at Yamagiwa and it's one race I just want to erase from memory. Started second to last off the final corner, struggled to get off, immediate 3 second penalty at the first corner, took ages to get caught up, stuck in traffic, got hit from behind for another penalty, pitted, more traffic, slowed to run down penalty, miscalculated fuel requiring another stop, got run off track and finished well down in the order.

Let's just say all of that lit a fire under me because I wasn't going to let anyone win at BB Raceway except me. Got the pole. Nabbed victory number 44. Winning does cure everything!

If you did the gr2 at yamagiwa today did you have to conserve fuel if you WERE NOT in the nsx?
I was in the Lexus and had to fuel save a lot, with hindsight it would've been quicker to 2 stop and have fresh tyres to push on.

I was surprised so many people pitted in the Manufacturers Cup race at BB last night, the tyres were dead after 10 laps but the pace was decent enough to just hang on.

I was in the GTR, it just drank fuel like you wouldnt believe, MAP2 and shortshifting the whole race.

I pitted for tyres but not fuel, just saved a bit where I could, 4th gear through first corner and shift early in slipstream, I wouldn't have held pace without pitting for tyres, rear was starting to slide a lot on Lap 13 so just dove into the pit (Aston Vantage)

Around 10-13th May (or thereafter) official season starts.

Taken from Gran Turismo Tour article.

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_5091246.html

The Nürburgring 24-Hour race will be held in Germany this year from 10-13 May. During the same period, this extremely popular European event will be also the venue for the ‘Gran Turismo World Tour 2018 Nürburgring’, the first 'World Tour' event of the 'FIA Gran Turismo Championship 2018'. 30 top players representing Europe will be invited to the Nürburgring to battle for the ‘Euro Cup’ in the opening event that celebrates the start of the official season for both the Nations Cup and the Manufacturer Series.

That means about 2 weeks left of testing left
.

Wait. When will that event at the Nurburgring take place? Is it during the 24h race?

hey, there's me you were following the first few laps! I got big time punted at the final chicane on lap 1 and those two passes i made in lap 4-5 were not intentional at all, loss of brakes lol glad they both were clean thanks to the other guy's awareness. crashed out twice later on and didn't so as well as i could've, but oh well. I'll definitely say hi next time i see you in a race!

If you look at the fia calendar in the game it looks as though it starts (pre-season it’s called) on the 2nd May

When you need 3rd to make the top 24 superstars... you pull off this move to then be ploughed off the circuit.... This kind of thing frustrates me greatly especially the car reset! I mean I've literally been ploughed into let me continue on....

I'd never touched Monza in GT Sport before tonight and I'd done a total of 16 laps before race start (Including qualifying)... now I know why.

(Penalty is from the dude brake checking matty and me and Bellof all then hit each other)

Argh, thats really frustrating, and yeah, reset shouldn't apply if you were punted out there :(

Thats definitely naive of you not to at least once played Monza (especially knowing its a:censored:storm). Whatever the reason to not racing it, its good practice to race all of them when participating at the top table.

It's not really naive, it just hasn't appeared when I've had chance to race it lol. It's like I've not raced Willow springs and a few of the infield tracks that are available :O, or even Tsukuba. But I definitely know why I won't be racing there again!

Crap race because of that same Lambo punted me in the first lap but a nice take back!

A nice pass i think, iam the Viper (PinkFloyd_4life)

Dragon Trail is almost as bad as Monza for racing. I don't know whether it's the layout or a weird physics thing where the slipstream is ridiculously OP there which leads to poor driving not being punished, because you can just gain all the time lost through bad cornering by halfway down the next straight. And this is before we get to the chicane deaths.

Despite all the hate for BB Raceway, I had a great race yesterday. Qualified 2nd, came in 2nd and got the clean race bonus. Racing through the ghosted cars is pretty confusing at that track, especially when there are 3 or 4 of them packed together.
