Wow, totally disappointed.

I just experienced my first disconnect at the 10:00 slot. That’s heartbreaking after the time I put in to learn the track boundaries and fuel strategy.

I have really good internet, so these disconnects must be on PD’s end.

Good luck to those in my race that made it to the track!

:ouch:

Well, that was a rather interesting night.

I managed an okay lap in the T24 Nations but for whatever reason, I completely lost the handle in Sector 2 during the race. Lap 1, I cut Degner 1 when I never had done it before in practice. Oh, and I was suddenly struggling at the hairpin for some reason. I also was really bad at trying to save fuel. I did have fun battling against others out there. Had a scary moment in Turn 1 and I ended going off while the other guy went all sideways. Somehow, we both saved it and kept going. Eventually, I cost myself around three positions by not scrubbing off the penalty at the line. Ah, well. The fact I was around guys that are usually ahead of me is a positive step and I had some fun.

Manufacturer's went (unfortunately) as expected. I somehow got 11th and I had an okay start. My race was pretty much over after the first chicane.

Not even mad. It's just utterly hilarious that for all the worries I had about penalties for corner cuts, I got 10 seconds for that! I tried all I could to go to Windfire's right before the braking zone but the Jaguar let me down with understeer even while off-throttle! I somehow beat my Jag rival at the end which was the main objective. I suppose that's a win considering the barge that I drive.

What did u hit???

Apparently you! I heard the thunk sound and it looked like you moved forward a bit. I suppose something like 2 seconds would've been fine but 10? Holy moley! :boggled:
That hit you heard was when the Alfa came in hot on the inside and hit me. Considering how much I cried every time I got to the straight, I did pretty well.

I checked my replay just in case.

What an utterly savage hit!

So, a summary of the rest of the races this season:

Round 6:

Qualifying was ok, though I still feel like a moron for the accidental shove I did to one car. The race itself was actually good, it was just all about keeping the leaders in earshot at least and that really helped when it came pit time because the 2nd place car spun coming out of the final corner. I got in the pits came out 3rd (Behind the pole sitting Corvette) and then 2nd once that car in front on it pitted. For the rest of the race , I was just in my own little world as the leader pulled away while I put quite a gap on 3rd and stayed there.

Round 7
:

It was all a mess. Practice, awful. Qualifying, pathetic. Race, just beyond ridiculous. Nothing to really be proud of as I just couldn't handle the car there for some reason.

Round 8:

It was interesting to cap off the season the way it went. Qualifying was..well, not great. Some misjudging of braking and just no room to really push. When the race came though, it was just suspenseful from beginning to end. Penalty for even barely having a wheel off before the Dunlop bridge was annoying. Going four wide on the first lap down mulsanne straight with strangers and not getting killed, what an experience that was. Then I was just picking my way through the field with cars going off track, spinning, out braking themselves. Some cars decided to pit on lap 2 (which I though was just odd as felt the delta and length of the track just wasn't gonna work out for a strategy like that). I took advantage of that got up to 4th and when pits came, burned off the penalty and managed to get the fuel just right to come out still in 4th and barely before 5th and 6th place came bearing down into turn 1. From there, I was catching the 4th placed car (which would end up 3rd as the leader seemed to went off in the Porsche Curves) and as I crossed the line with two to go, I got by for 2nd. Started pursuing the leader when I got that same penalty (go figure). As I was battling the Corvette and he pass me before the second chicanes, I slowed up and burned my penalty off before resuming. I managed to stay with him all the way to Arnage and made a deep dive to the inside. From that point, I had the race in hand and was just having a heart attack making sure my fuel lasted (which at the line was at 0.03 left).

Challenging season with the way things went. Hopefully, 3rd season will be less of a mess.

Also, regarding that four-wide on lap 1:

Would you believe that somehow, everyone came out of that unharmed?

Well, today we didnt get any disconnects!

On Nations, i picked my beloved Cit against 23 Meganes. Had no chance on the season at all, so who cares, and i hate the Megane. My qualy was poor, i got #suckedoff on turn 1 in my first attempt on the second stint so i only had 1 lap left to make a decent one. So i went safe and only got a 07.8. Couldve hit 07.5 easily here. For the race, i was really afraid of people trying to pass me in the Ss, because it was the place the Meganes were more than half a second faster and i was using map 3, luckily nobody tried anything stupid there. I only got punted once, expected to be punted more tbh.

Manu was a lot better. Had a decent enough lap in qualy to get P8. My start was stunning, was P3 before the chicane, i got so excited that i forgot to turn tcs off for a moment lol. I went with the 1 stop strategy, and it worked out. Got the maximum out of what my car couldve given me.

Gotta respect a guy who brings a knife to a gunfight. I haven't touched the Mégane yet. I'll take my underpowered Scooby no matter how bad it makes me look in a meta car race...

Just missed a top 10 spot of Mitsubishi.:banghead: Any effect on the ranking for the coming season?

You're still in the Top 200 range for regional rank, so you should still get/keep an S/S ranking.
You qualify for Star Player rating if you, for Manufacturer Series, are in Top 10 of your Manufacturer or in Top 200 of your region's rank.

Really:eek: Rank 197 would get me S/S ranking.👍 Haven’t noticed it before. Thx @Mistah_MCA

Heh. Just had a look at mine. I still qualify for S.

But they still have nonsense for the secondary areas in qld. I'd never even heard of this "place" before GT. Looked it up at the time and I know the place by another name but no connection to it except maybe passing through a few times many, many years ago. Wikipedia says what GT calls it was abolished in 1993 - probably around the time I last passed through  . Who knows maybe they'll fix the secondary areas with the update.

I didn't race season 1 but after a good season 2 , i really thought i was making my way back to my DR S but not at all. Still with my low A+ level that almost didn't grow more than 20% during all my good season 2 that i've spent beating 75% S ranked in every race.
I really don't understand this points system.:banghead:

S rank doesn’t mean anything in respect of gaining DR, they still could be lower level, the underlying DR level still stays the same.

S ranking has no benefit unless someone has a genuine chance of getting into a top 24 race.

Exactly , this was my case in the first top 24 season 2 race where people can earn an indecent amount of points , that is another very unfair fact in my opinion.
I was just hoping having my S rank ready to be able to participate for the final season at least So yes, sorry , but S mean a lot this way.

Not sure if I don’t understand? But you will get an S rank for the final season. Not sure if you realise but you get DRS from your ranking from the season not from gaining DR, in your case you are in the top 200 of the region therefore you will get the notification to apply for S. Like i say may have misunderstood your post, but what I mean is DRS has nothing to do with DR ranking, pretty sure a DRD was DRS after season one in America.

Only did the Nations Cup race last night. I'm usually not one for meta cars so I decided to see how my NSX would fare. Qualified 10th about 0.6s off pole. The race was going ok until I spun it at Spoon on my out lap and in the end it was P16. Without the spin probably would've been around P9.

In general, I enjoyed the racing throughout the season and the results were better than expected, hopefully S3 is just as good

Asian servers had the leader with plus 12k points, even without 24SS race that glitched. Thats plus 3k of points in AVERAGE. Insane. They must have a lot of 75k dr players.

That looks awesome.
In my nations race we somehow managed to go 3 wide into 130R cleanly!
