@mclarenLB you seem to understand the Top 24 system well, given my ranking below, will I gain entry to the Top 24 on saturday, as Mathieu isn't SS? or is an entry only likely if one of them doesnt enter?

FIA was absolute anus last night.

Couldn't hook my Q-lap together, and ended up 0.8s slower (mainly the last corner) and 12 places lower than I could have been, despite not driving either the Cayman or Veyron.

One such Veyron decided he was going to serve a penalty on lap 1, on the racing line, approaching the braking zone for turn 9 (after the uphill S-bend). With a pack of cars on my right I had no room whatsoever and, of course, he unghosted a billionth of a second before I arrived and that destroyed two races, plus SR down and 5s penalty. Thanks a bundle. Managed a recovery drive to... I don't know, 12th? Midpack, either way.

Tokyo was a different kind of anus. Couldn't get a decent Q-lap in because no gap was enough gap to account for suddenly encountering six cars who'd all hit each other and the wall, then recovered to dawdle on the racing line like absolute vulvas. I don't even remember where I qualified, but it wasn't great and it was five places behind the other Mazda. Got insta-penalties from some utter hoop in a Lexus who was literally scraping every wall and then veering back across the track. After being held up for a lap I put my nose in - may as well if I'm getting a penalty for him hitting a wall and then hitting me - got past and made up some decent ground. Tyres seemed fine, and fuel was way better than the lead pack, so I stayed out one lap more - running in 2nd at this point - then jumped in for fuel only and came out in first... for about four seconds before the lead pack screamed past. Pretty much held station after that and finished in 6th, seven seconds back... but with a red S for some reason. Still, SR98 isn't the end of the world.

Well my nations cup race was intentionally forgettable but for a reason.

My SR was sitting at 42 points going into the race at Maggiore and with minimal improvements on offer through the daily races
at the moment I needed this long 17 lap race to be clean so I called it to sacrifice championship points/race position for my SR.

Started 18th on the grid with no qualifying time in the Alfa Romeo 4C as I chose the car delibaretly to ensure I could have consistent
laps and after drop outs I finished 16th place and improved my SR to 64 points. 👍

409th in the UK and world ranking is 2613th.

Manufactuers cup was where I came alive yesterday evening.

Qualified in 10th place with the Nissan GT-R but there was a lot of different manufactuers in the lobby and mainly faster cars than the
GT-R.

Race takes off and as you would expect chaos ensues at the end of the straight and I come out with 8 seconds worth of penalties.

Soldier on but I manage to get into 5th place and then keep momentum with 4th place for most of the race with places swapping
back and forth down the straights.

Final result was 3rd place after they crashed on the very last corner on the very last lap, I'm sure rage ensued when they saw
me go flying past, penalty served and a nice result. 👍

Based on DR as of now, and everyone having an SR of 99, and assuming @mclarenLB and I's current theory that lowest profile ID number (earliest profile creation) is what they are using to separate the 75k drivers, and assuming everyone is free this is what I've got currently for EMEA Manufacturers T24.
manut24.png

I've almost certainly missed a few people out down towards the lower end of this, but time was precious. I also know it's going to change based on people doing Dailies to up their DR/SR and the result of the Nations races beforehand. Currently the average DR of the lobby would be 74,514!

3 Manufacturers (Nissan, Citroen and Honda) have more than 2 drivers at 75,000 so I've had to use profile ID which does screw over the current championship leader (same thing happens in Nations which is ascended from PD). If it is championship points that are secondary then it changes who represents all 3 of those manufacturers. This nonsense would of course be avoided if there was no arbitrary hard cap on DR, which we've been moaning about for months to deaf ears!

And before any of you ask no I am not doing Asia or America

The European ladder is insane.

My nations race last night was a total cluster. It was more like bumper cars than racing cars. Started 12th, finished 8th in the little Hyundai that could.

My manu race on the other hand went amazingly. Qualified in 6th, directly behind the other Aston. I knew right off the bat that fuel was going to be a huge issue here, so right off the line I started short shifting and just saying in the slipstream. Going into turn one, I went to the inside and I'm glad I did. Someone further back didn't brake and caused a huge pile up on the outside of t1. I went from 6th to 2nd right off the bat. Guy ahead of me was in a Mustang so I was more than happy to just sit behind him. Going down the front straight, I would get right up on his rear bumper, and then go down to fuel map 6 just to save a little more fuel. After a few laps, he runs wide in like turn 6 or 7? I think. He hits the wall and myself and my Aston team mate made it past him. Come lap 5, the other Aston goes into the pits and I stay out as I still had about 2 laps of fuel left. Pit on lap 6 with 9% fuel left, fill up to 90%. Pull out of the pits and first and it was honestly a pretty quiet race after that. Pretty much all by myself short shifting. I won with like a 9 second lead. I think 2nd place race out of fuel near the end because the gap starting going up pretty rapidly.

I'm 2 for 2 in the manu cup this season with the Aston. I missed the first few races, but the ones I've entered, I've won :gtpflag:

My perspective of the Tokyo race. The pole was an accident and so I had to switch strategies. If me and the Alfa could've broken away from Lester and @LLOYDZELITE69, then any fuel advantage they would have would be negated by behind too far ahead or they would use up too much to catch back up. In retrospect, it was a mistake not always being in front for the entire back section. The Jag understeers bad enough as is but dirty air made it impossible to run laps through there without tapping a wall.

Flat out was expecting to do poorly in Nations. Went with Veyron because for qualifying speed and strategy. I ended up being too patient and then not being patient enough.

Just want to wish everyone best of luck qualifying for the next round over the remainder of the final season. I will be following and supporting everyone on GTP who makes it, and look forwards watching some amazing races. Thanks to the community here I get to see a decent bit of the top races, despite PD's poor coverage!

No you are unlikely to get in, your regional ranking isn’t high enough. You’d also need close to or max 75kDR as it’s DR based entry. To get in T24 even when it’s points based you really need to be at least top 50 regional I’d say, probably higher and then you would need quite a few people not to turn up.

Both my fia races, with live commentary and live Cam! Didn’t have much practice for both combos but did well nonetheless. Had to catch FT_SOLID behind 2.5secs with 7 laps to go! watch the last lap for a shocking end of the race at the finish line.
Like, subscribe, enjoy!

Did I see that correctly? Was that a dirty move by your teammate at the finish of Manu Nations?

A 9th position on the grid was fair with the Aston , i love this car anyway . At 3:10 , first turn (you can see it in the upper right part of the video) , a friend 4 or 5 positions after me had lost totally his braking point and bump me violently. I've spun several times and when i've stopped spinning i wasn't in a very bad position , on the grass but still on the good way of the race . After a safe conservative race at a good pace , without any penalty, i've finished in 9th position with some very good fair battles with severals opponents, it was a very fun race indeed.

Solid ran out of gas, he wanted to move out of the racing line but Lloydz had the same thinking. Lloydz was just too close to avoid the contact. Just unfortunate for Lloydz.

Would be complete nonsense if I can't be part of this Top 24 while leading and being at 75000 DR.

We are telling you this as a heads up, if you don't make it in, you'll know why, although it is entirely possible that PD changed the matching algorithm for this race (But extremely unlikely)

My report from yesterday's races.

Nations

Did a lot of practice for this one. Tried out 5-6 cars, but ended my choice with the Cayman. Had confidence that my 1:28.630 was fast enough for DR B. Qualifications didn't exactly go as expected, with my best time on the first flying lap. Decided to pit for fresh tires after getting a penalty on my 2nd one. And finally got stuck in the last sector behind someone that messed his lap on my final attempt. Still, I had pole until the very last moment.

Race starts and I brace myself for first corner, finally nothing happens on my end. At the hairpin, I discover that my brakes aren't as efficient as the Mercedes in front of me. There's a little tap, I give him some room, but behind me, P3 gets hit by P4, and bounces back into me. I end up in the sandbank, costing me a lot of time to recover from it. I'm now P12. I'm quite used to comeback races now, so here I go again. I get stucked behind two Audi for a couple laps, but once I finally get rid of them, I catch up on the others in front quite fast. I finally catch up with P2 for the last couple laps. I try to put pressure on him because he has a penalty to deplete. Then, on the last corner, I still don't know what happened, but he decides to go very wide, spinning out in the grass... and rage quits.

I'll win someday, but at least it was a good ending to another bad 1st lap.

Manufacturers

Decided to do this one after Nations in fear of seeing my SR go down. Did 10 or so laps before the room opened. During qualifications, I catch slipstream from someone on the straight, helping me obtain P3.

Race starts and I am quite faster than NSX, in P1, on the straight. I arrive at the first corner in first place, which I keep for most of the first half. The NSX always catches up in the sinuous portion, but if I work my best to keep him behind me, so I can lose him again on the straight. However, I notice that if I keep my pace, I'll end out of fuel before the 6th lap starts, so I start short shifting. I pit at the end of 6th lap, still in P1, but with only 1% fuel. I decide to change tires because I don't know if they can last another 5 laps, but what is costing me a lot of time is refuelling. I exit the pit behind the NSX, but now that he's in front, he can freely outpace me. I finish the race with another 2nd place, but this one went without incident on my end.

Basically what I did then but I was 5 places further up the order ;) (Joking aside that's sort of payback for being robbed last time out)

T24 Manufacturers rounds look decent for Ferrari, so hopefully that's my 2 'normal' rounds that count towards the 5 giving me over 5200 points (5000 was my target) :D.

Begone rubbish Gr4 scores I got when I had zero motivation in those races!

Haha yes! It was nice to get that, but makes me more frustrated as I could have really been in an insane position with Peugeot if that 2.5k+ reward had happened at that event! Even so I'm pleased to at least be in some form of running!

Its a big shame the DR Matchmade Top 24 that you can easily get into is the damn Group 4 one though :(

Yup, basically anyone who joined a team and changed account for that is screwed - so basically everyone except TRL, F4H and those who still have no team. I could try to bump my DR up to 75k and I would be guaranteed a spot in nations' Top 24 (which would be ridiculous since I missed two races in nations XD ), but I don't have enough points anyway to be able to pretend getting in the next ones. As for manufacturers, I feel like the whole calendar from now on is horrendous for Mazda except the very last round, so I'm not even sure I want to try to enter this one

Me winning a top split FIA race this season. I can assure you the world is safe. :sly:

I did max out my DR last night but I only joined GT Sport in March. With my luck this season, I may be on the outside looking in for one of the two races. I'll need alternative strategies just in case.

Season 3, race 4 manufacturer series, s/s lobby, my pov.

I'm sorry about our incident in round 5 of manufacturers. I wanted to apologise after the race but you'd already left. I thought you ran wider than you did. I tried to stay as far to the right as possible to aviod contact, but it clearly wasn't enough
