I had to take 2 ibuprofens after todays mayhem and everything, barely finished my manufacturer race from being nervous and having a strong headache.

I am sad that all ended like this after having a very good 5 rounds of the championship,definitely unfair for some drivers and the whole ranking just doesnt make sense now,but I am happy that I am very close to securing top3 spot now in the UK and also have secured manufacturer spot with my Dodge.

Cya all in the next top24, I am not doing the race on Wednesday due to other life obligations.

In Nations I wish every Gr4 race was a Gr2 race.

I caught a bit of Tidgneys stream at Maggiore, looked fun.

The Bathurst Manu start today was a joke, car park before turn 1.

I don't know if anyone else finished the race without changing the tyres in Nations Cup race but it didn't work, at least with Ford GT. I didn't make big mistakes at the beginning of the race and fuel saving it wasn't a problem (changing to map 3 in the hill was enough) but in the last 5 minutes of the race the tyres were done, so the car was absolutely undriveable and I spun twice and finished 13th (A-S) after being fighting for Top 10 during the race. it could have been better but I'm not very disappointed considering my strategy was wrong and this is one of my worst tracks

Got divebombed and spun out on lap 1 by the desperate drivers of FIA, then somehow made my way back to 13th after scrubbing my tons of penalties and passing others doing the same. People race too aggressively at these events, it’s frustrating.

Driving was awful in that race. The guy in the Mustang I was racing with was the only other clean driver I encountered, everyone else wasn’t, especially the 900 Nissan’s out there. Every single person bumped me or ran me wide or dive bombed and just didn’t understand side by side racing. The penalties just made it worse since you got punished for giving anyone room since you might clip the curb or run a bit wide and get a second penalty. So obviously when given the choice between a time penalty and hitting someone, most people choose the latter.

Eventually I had 6 seconds of penalties and the race was lost anyway so I paid back one guy who had ran into me multiple times and just drove around at the back until the end.

I don’t even care about this championship anymore. Either I’m getting matched against Aliens and running as fast as I can for 400 points or I’m getting disconnected, or I’m a sitting duck out there since I have a car that’s both slow in the straights and has to brake early so it’s an easy target.

Oh man good thing there was a beta test for this game running for freaking 3 months (which is the longest beta in the gaming industry I guess)... Sure helped.

The biggest thing they need do with gr4 is make them all RWD. Its ridiculous how with the Lancer I can win at Tsukuba no problem but at maggiore and several other circuits I am literally at the back of the grid. This causes cars to simply be too different and it is impossible to BoP it away.

Do you think that if they incorporated downforce into the BoP as well as power & weight it could help? Or just too much of a lost cause still?

Sometimes living in Florida sucks. Just got kicked out of the middle of my Manufacturers race due to a lightning strike briefly knocking out the power. Yeah baby, yeah!

So now touching the left side curb in the first corner of Maggiore, a line I'd do only to give space to my opponent, is worth a 1,5 sec penalty. Not touching the grass, but the curb only. Mario Kart is more realistic than this ****.

I Agree with you and winnie, I got knocked around, rear ended and pushed wide multiple times in my manu race today. I tried to leave space and keep it clean but not one person made a clean pass. I qualified 2nd and ended up 4th after serving many penalties and dealing with the rammers. If you're faster than me, I have no problem letting you through. Line it up and make the pass. I also understand that people who are fast may not get a clean lap In qualy and will have to work up the field during the race. But don't give me this bs diving down the inside from 1 sec or more back or using my car as guide rail.

I thought sport mode was bad for poor race craft but these fia events are nasty!

(Disclaimer: I'm no saint, as my SR history shows, but I make every effort possible to stay clean and strive to stay in S class at all times. We all have bad days/races though!)

Getting ready for Top 24 Manufacturer's but I should've followed my instincts and skipped the Nations race entirely. I simply had no handle using the Ford GT and so I went with the Jag. 17th was a bad place to start because I ended up starting on the outside corner. That set me up poorly for the straight as Ford GT's swallowed me up. The worst part was before the kink, a car suddenly stopped in front of me and I hit them. Must have been lag but that incident sent me down to last. I should've finished where Solid did but just too many things that went wrong...

..including getting disconnected for Top 24 Manufacturer's. What a day!

Face-palm. I have almost 400 races in Sport Mode and Manufacturers tonight was my first disconnect. My internet or bad netcode by PD? I remember in GT5 I would be disconnected from nine of every ten races I tried to do. No problems with DiRT 3, no problems with Ferrari Challenge, no problems with Superstars V8 Racing. Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky with GTS till now.

Hey my first FIA win in a coon’s age. All I had to was knock my SR down to 80-something. The sad thing is that’s still one of the best points hauls I’ve gotten this season in either series. I’m proud of myself for managing to not pit though.

Also the lower SR drivers are cleaner than the 99-ers, probably because they know it’s just for fun?

Raced nations in a ~2400 point lobby.
By far my worst FIA race yet. Wasn't consistent enough with the Ford so I went with the Lexus thinking the others might have to stop for fuel. They didnt.

Qualified poorly at 13th, my worst by far, finished the same. TWO 5 sec penalties for getting hit from behind in a traffic jam.

I don't think anything will help cover up that difference. An AWD car is always going to exit corners really fast and a FWD is always going to exit really slow. You simply can't make that balanced on both Tsukuba and Le Mans. Depending on corner exits it's always going to vary too much from track to track. They could kind of solve it with track specific BoP but the time and effort needed for that is huge and you'll still have huge variation in how the cars achieve the lap times.

Those who are fast in qualy doesnt mean they have better racecraft.

GT Sport is very sensitive at car contact, since I'm using Direct Drive 20nm wheel base and 1000W buttkicker with headphone, a light touch at T1 Magiore felt like huge bang on my system, and it took massive effort to not lost control.

After numerous races, I found that wheel users have more control in avoiding incidents or contact, they can modulate the brake to avoid those unnecessary contacts for example T5 Magiore.

Well, the Americas Manufacturer non-Top 24 Top 24 race proved quite interesting. I managed the best flier I could've done with the Jag to start 7th. Unfortunately, the room had a million Porsches and Citroens so I was going to get destroyed by handling and OP fuel cars. I was definitely a rolling chicane early desperately trying to get the pig to do anything for me but I got shuffled well back. I ended up getting penalties for two corner cuts, both which I found to be rather silly. No denying the racing out there was quite aggressive and I got the impression there were lots of upset drivers post-race. I should be upset myself at finishing 14th and losing tons of DR but I found the race oddly fun. Maybe because I already knew I was at a big disadvantage in the Fat Cat but squeezed everything I could've out of it.

At the least, neither videos will be boring in the slightest.

I feel your pain with the Jag. The Hyundai is the same way. Did not have the fuel economy or the handling as well. Took me every I had not to fall any further backwards. That was my worst point total of the season in the Manufacturers cup. At least Nations went much better than expect. Somehow I ended up with a fifth place finish even with being punted of at the end to the back straight.

Be warned, one of the most common places where offs happem at Big Willow gives a delayed time penalty for doing so.

Why doesn't that surprise me? I suppose I should put out a statement on what's happened today because I think it merits one.

As I've stated in this forum before, I don't consider myself a real contender to do anything significant in this FIA Championship. I play to enjoy the challenge of pushing myself against the best in my region. As someone that has played Gran Turismo from the first one onwards, part of me is amazed how far the series has gone to where one can compete against their peers. The concept of an online championship sounds great on paper and parts and pieces work as designed. However, I have been disappointed at the various shortcomings I've both experienced and witnessed regarding this FIA championship in Gran Turismo Sport. Certainly, issues are to be expected trying to run something like this but I was hoping that they would be mitigated with time and experience.

Today was not a good day at all. Drivers that clearly demonstrated that they deserved an opportunity to race against the best in their region didn't even get an opportunity to do so for reasons that we simply don't know. A major bug regarding a standing start penalized a fair number of drivers through no fault of their own. An imbalanced balance of performance for Group 4 meant certain drivers were at a severe disadvantage and had no realistic chance of earning a good result. Finally, a Top 24 race never occured due to the lobby crashing, something that has happened before.

To continue having these type of issues at this juncture is testing this community's willingness to continue putting the time and effort into this. I know we can do better than this. We have to do better than this.

I hate my races today. Manufacturer's Cup I was all over the place, causing trouble for ILOVENARA and ilovecat-k. I'm really sorry guys, it was all on me. Although I didn't spin them out, I did spin another person out. They were in a Jaguar. Deepest apologies.
Anyway, I somehow ended up third just ahead of my team mate. I really didn't like that race at all. Really bad performance from me

Haha, and when I thought the Manu Cup was bad enough Nations was disastrous. Again, I was all over the place after resorting last minute to the Ford GT. I hated the car and how it handled, but that top speed was just too tempting. Precisely because of this I almost spun several times, affecting many drivers in the process. Honestly at this point I'm surprised why I'm not in SR B. With the racecraft I've shown tonight it's only fitting I should be there. In the end, I finished 11th, once again just ahead of my teammate

There's another thing I really want to add but... yeah I don't think I can say it

So yeah, if you can't already feel it in my post I really hate myself right now for the abysmal performance and racecraft I've shown.

I was in your manu race but I started mid pack and was cheering you on in my head as I saw you up there on the list. I'm stuck with Nissan and the tracks this season generally chew up the tyres and maggiore was no exception. So when my fronts were worn I had to brake significantly earlier (for stopping distance and understeer through the corners) and got bumped off a couple of times. Finished way down the order and had to regain some SR in the "dailies" before hopping into the nations race 2 hours later because of T24.
