question: i recieved the email to go to Japan next month, i am not getting my passport for another week, is there a way i can kind of say like getting within the week? or do i need it before the end of the application date?

It's not letting me complete the registration. Keeps rejecting the mobile number I've supplied in spite of me double checking it, and even redoing my star player form so that the number from there matches up with the number I'm trying to supply now.

Surely I can't lose out on this due to a technical glitch?

EDIT: Okay so I definitely have to add 61 to the start of my number except the form won't accept more than 10 digits and even if I drop the 0 like I'm supposed to I'm on 11. Do I drop the 4 too just to make it fit?
Yes drop it and write it down somewhere so they know!

Nothing works. Anything that starts with 61 is an invalid format, and just inputting the number without the country code results in
  • Incorrect value for question: "Mobile Phone Number <span class="note">(including country code)</span>:"
Guys... I might be out of the running. Because technology is incredibly stupid. What a fair and balanced E-Sports ready game!

Did you start with +61?

Dude just put there anything that works and write them a message somewhere, with your number.

The schedule we received in the qualification email says that Friday (October 5) is the practice day and Saturday/Sunday (October 6-7) is the competition. It's possible that they may have changed the schedule since posting the news article (https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/news/00_1523705.html), as there is no mention of additional racing on the 8th.

Also, based on said news article, I get the feeling that the format is going to be similar to that seen at World Tour Nurburgring, though hopefully they'll have learned some things from that event and made the semi-final (which will decide the 10 world finalists in this case) a much fairer process for all.

I just hope that the EMEA event won't be held on 27-28 weekend, as I'll be at the Metal Gear in Concert in Paris. It just can't be, I cannot miss any one of the events!!:D

Please be it 13-14 or 20-21 :boggled:

Don't quote me on this because it might have changed, but from the grapevine I believe you should be fine. Good job you're not American because I think their final is that weekend.

Looking at the Nations Final Season final standings across all 3 regions, if Akagi_1942mi (Asia winner) and @LLOYDZELITE69 (Americas winner) were in EMEA, then they will stand in 3rd and 4th respectively, which makes them ahead of @Jomas .

However, if Lloydz is in Asia, he will be in 3rd behind Kerokkuma_ej20.

Then, if @Tidgney is in Americas or Asia, he would've been placed in 8th and 5th respectively, with the latter granting him a 2 point advantage over Australia's warrior2167.

And, if we decide that maatu79 is in Asia, he will be ahead of yukiku in 4th.

I think you cant compare the points tables from asia, america and emea.
As an example: Someone gets P5 in a top24 race in emea, with the same pace he could be p8 in asia, or p2 and he would score different points as in emea. We have three different divisions, and they dont interact with eachother, so you cant compare them like that I guess.
*I hope someone gets my point :)

Cutting in fine there. I'm sure there is some way of saying you expect it within a week. You should contact the organisers directly as only they know whether a delay is acceptable. They will "need" your passport details to book flights so it could be a problem if cut too fine.

You can't really compare regions. I agree that Europe is by far the most competitive, but they also give a looooooooot more points because of the number of level capped players. Almost every top tier room can give them 2.8-3k points, in America it's rare to get a top room on 2.5k.

Also, in America it's easier to get 75k DR because of less conpetition and so even in an event where's 2500 points for P1, it doesn't mean it's same "difficulty" as in EMEA race.

It should be okay to get it after the application date but its probably worth sending them an email to make sure. I got mine less than a week before the first world tour.

Completely off-topic but i wanted to ask if someone could kindly share the last emea top24 replay in the game, i forgot to save it and wanted to do a video on my youtube channel :/ so asking the likes of @mthomas_95 or @force ewerby, would be great :gtpflag:

I did save the replay, I'll try and upload it in game but my upload speed is so bad it often times out

did a few laps tonight in the 86, probably the closest I've ever been to the top 10 times percentage wise, it might possibly be quicker to 1 stop on the softs with this car???

Reply to the email they'll sent you asking for a picture of your passport telling your situation.

I got the final invitation for World Tour 10 days ago, i had no passport. Begun the process of taking one in the same day i got the invite, explained my situation, and just today i got my passport. PD waited for me all the way, was pretty awesome from them.

@hellZfirE First off, congrats on your accomplishments and making it to the live event! You are a DS4 user, correct? Have you trained on a wheel since getting the invite, and how do you think that racing with a wheel during the event will affect your speed? I'm only asking because when we competed at the GT Academy Finals they required the controller user that made it to the finals to use the wheel.

Congrats again, and congrats to all the drivers going, it will be a very fun experience for you all!

Thank you!

I don't have access to a wheel so i will have 0 practice on it. I have no idea how i'll perform, but seeing what new wheel users need to get up to speed, i don't have high expectations. Just flying to europe and meeting a lot of new places and people will be worth the trip!

Hell yes @hellZfirE ! I was shocked when I made it to GT Academy Nationals, my goal when getting there was to meet buddies (in real life) and enjoy the experience of being a part of an official Nissan/Sony/PD event. I had no expectations of going to Silverstone, then I ended up 5th in the competition. Turns out I was much better under the pressure of the cameras and judges than many others were.

Don’t sell yourself short man, with your DS4 skills you may adapt to the wheel faster than you think.

Good luck and enjoy the experience!

Tried the M4 in a Custom Race to simulate the Manufacturer Series race, and I found out that you just need to go flat out with that and switch tyres at the end of Lap 4 if you want to keep pushing. Total race time: 17:52.255, and that's with a major mistake!

Hey I only do FIA Manufacturer so how do I maintain my S rank? Is being top 10 for that manufacturer the only way?

Metal Gear music concert?? Cool!
I seem to recall one of the themes were in copyright infringement or something but does that apply to live performances??
