Alright, here's my view on last night's Nations
If anyone's wondering why I chose the Tomahawk, it's not because I found it fast or it's the meta or anything, it's because
@darth_tails made a livery for me and I wanted to use it as soon as I can

looks pretty good if you ask me
Anyway, off to qualifying. Based from my limited practice beforehand I know that I can do 5 laps, 2 of which are flyers. However because I'm using RMs it would be more sensible to have your hotlap first and then the banker in the next flyer. So, that was the plan. Unfortunately I got held up behind by another driver on my hotlap so I wasn't able to extract my full potential in that qualifying.
Oh well, I'll just make it up in the race. And boy oh boy, make up in the race I did

some lucky openings here and there, along with some overtakes myself, I found myself in 5th position! That's 6 places up from my quali, and honestly way above what I was expecting to see myself in

Oh man, now the pressure's building up. Sidawg, JayOTT, speedychicken, and Nik_Makozi are all behind me. I know they're much faster drivers, and I probably won't be able to defend from them if they catch up... only one thing to do. The only thing that has proven itself time and time again.
The thing that people, even I, advise against.
Qualifying pace. Yes, once I had reached 4th position I made the risk to run as fast as I can, lap after lap, because I know full well that it's a bunch of aliens behind me. My qualifying pace can barely trump their race pace, and I know that they're smarter than me to not take the risk, so I ran as hard as I can. These RH tires are holding up really well, but I went for the safe option and did a one-stop for another set of RHs. I know RMs only last 4 laps at most before my laps fall apart, and it's Lap 6 of the race. I've never done a complete race distance simulation so I honestly don't know if my RHs can last all the way, hence the one-stop.
However, that pit cost me a bit too much time. gilles_honda_v12 and another guy caught up to me and relegated me back to 6th. The latter wasn't much of an issue except for their cornering speeds. It was really slow and I needed to quickly find a way past. Luckily T5 gave me that opportunity and after a quick nab for 5th I was down to chasing gilles.
2.3, 2.2, 2.1, 2.2... I was closely monitoring the gap between him and myself. I had the pace, I know I can chase him down.
Lap 7, 8, 9... The laps rolled by as I'm on a desperate mission to chase him down.
Lap 10, 1.0, 0.9, 0.8... I can do it...! But alas... my tires can only take me so far. I started pushing a bit too much and the Tomahawk felt unsafe. You did great Tomahawk, you did great

thank you for the hard work, let's take that 5th home.
I'm honestly surprised that the Tomahawk is really great around here

great race, great racing, and thank you for the spectacle everyone

I'm glad that I can take
@darth_tails' special livery to a very high standing
