Was definitely punished for having the Mazda as well in my Manu race. It just had no speed, every other car would simply walk away from it under acceleration. Problem was the car wouldn't rotate well in most of Red Bull's corners either....

Has anyone looked to see if a two stop on RSS is optimal to a 1 stop on RM for the next manufacturers? It should be a pretty short pit stop so maybe???

Haven’t done any FIA races in a month and a half (or any Gr.3 or Gr.4 racing in general), but I’ll try the 86 race on Wednesday, looks too good to miss.

Going to rejoin the full season for Exhibition #3, feel like I’m missing a lot of good and experimental combos in these races. Going to go with Toyota (FT-1) for manufacturers.

How do we know what's after tbh? Was hoping it was the 'real' racing back, or are they doing only so many seasons in a calendar year? Bit bored of Hyundai so would like a change if they're doing another exhibition season, I like the Gr3. car but the Gr4. car doesn't excite me

2 podiums last week, chuffed with that

The Russian guy behind me in the first race was disgraceful, took out 2 drivers seemingly with no damage or penalties.

They’re definitely not going to start a real season until the finals for the current one are done. I wouldn’t expect another real one till next spring at least.

Would be nice if they allowed us to change Manufacturers at the end of this 'season' though.

I kinda picked Peugeot for chuckles, but it would be nice to try something else - fun as it is annoying everyone with my mini pug-trains. Have a feeling I could be really annoying tomorrow if I get a decent qualification together. Tyre wear might be the only thing to stop me as I will have to run the RM tyre for both stints.

Haha I was stuck behind you in a practice race at the Red Bull ring the other day, was too powerful down the straights for the first few laps, after that you ran out of tyres and were easy meat (no offence)

Just had the dumbest DNF ever in Manufacturers. Race starts and I have the last corner to navigate which should be easy enough... except my car randomly decides to snap loose on the exit. I have no idea why because the Genesis is normally stable even on low speed exits. The slightest hint of countersteer snapped it back the other way... straight into the barrier. Engine damage, so I immediately dive into the pits, but the crew don't want to service me. No chance of recovering the race at that point.

I feel cheated because I don't know what I did wrong on the corner exit to get such a nasty reaction from my car. Normally I can go full throttle in 2nd in this car no problem but this time it decided I can't?

So there's a real lack of top European bois streaming the FIA Exhibition Seasons right now, especially the earlier slots, happily I think I've managed to sort my internet out so I can stream on a pretty consistent basis, although it struggles a bit when there's really high traffic on my internet, gonna give it a go streaming both races tonight. Hopefully it goes smoothly

I'm no longer streaming through the console, got it setup through OBS on my PC and got myself a much better microphone, so should be able to do some cool stuff! I'll post here just before it goes live :)

Better let the PC/obs do the grunt work, never stress out the ps4

Yeah I've done some tests, Its running well, I'd like to run a higher frame rate but because how much my internet fluctuates with traffic outside my control, I don't think I'd be able to run a stable 60FPS stream, so starting at 30FPS for now.

I've got my bitrate set way higher than the internal PS4 streaming could ever dream of though, got some other fun additions setup on the stream that the PS4 can't do either, looking forward to it, should be fun.

Hopefully my Internet doesn't die off mid stream though, think I'm in a similar boat to Tidgney in that department, looking to get my own place next year :)

EDIT:

Stream over, the audio... uhhhh... needs work so I'm not keeping the VoD up. Will be much better next time, still new to this stuff :)

Manufacturers
Managed to get a half decent qualification for a change, but still not perfect. Tried to do 3 out/fast/in but ran out of time so only managed 2 but got 2nd. Race went ok, but picked up damaged after I turned in on a late braking Porsche. Amazing considering the hits I had received before from an Audi driver I didn't receive damage, but got it for turning in on someone? Managed to pass a couple on the back straight when they ran wide into the difficult corner after the esses, but got passed by the Porsche again on the 7th lap when my tyres were knackered.

Anyway pitted on lap 7 in 3rd place and came out in 11th. I had to use RM for both stints, but the guy who came 2nd managed to use RSS in his VW (so that is an option). Guy who won in a Ferrari didn't pit at all but just beat the VW by 0.1 of second at the end, so pretty close between pitting once and not pitting.
After all the pitting had been done I was in 6th (3 seconds of damage), so spent a few laps getting past a no-stopping Mercedes, and by then my tyres were shot and that was that. 5th was decent but might have been better.

Nations
Probably not going to bother. Boring car + tuning makes me a sad boy :(

Update: I did the race after all. It was boring.

@vvise Nice to finally race together!

Top split room again. I put the Hyundai 9th on the grid right behind vvise by six thousands of a second.

After an uneventful race with absolutely horrendous tire wear on the Genesis I finished 11th, again one spot behind vvise, for 941 points.

A bit disappointing. The Hyundai had treated me well up to today but now I am doubting its tire wear. 50% wear on front mediums after six laps and taking it easy...

Had a fun mfg race but it was sloppy. My first banker lap put me in 8th and I messed up my hotlap.

During the race I got into some good racing was up to 6th and lost my focus while in a battle. Saved the spin but it cost me 4-6 spots in the final result.

@Pfei nice to finally race you.

Also the servers went down post race?

I was dreading Nations, but actually really enjoyed the racing. I almost didn’t notice the open setup, but thankfully had started practice early enough. Seemed like some other drivers in my lobby had missed it. Was cool to notice in race how different the cars were reacting based off others’ tweaks, which I think puts some fun into a one make race like that. Would love to see more of it!

Had a great battle against mecttyyRD. Have never seen him before but it was great close racing and he defended his position well. I felt like Hamilton trying to get past Räikkönen. Normally I'd post gifs but it lasted too long.

Here's a timestamped video to the action start. It gets good end of lap 5 and almost crash on 6.

I decided not to do Nations because I had no tune to use. That and points in the tune racings have always been awful.

I wasn't looking forward to Manufacturer's with the Lexus and the room had some good drivers in it. My qualifying had a botched T1 both attempts but I was lucky to get 3rd. The Lexus was garbage with mediums and so I took a huge gamble and went with a double supersofts stint. It proved to be a great call in what became a rather eventful race. I was able to stay with the top two but the Lancer in 3rd got around me after I tried a move on 2nd. I drifted back a bit and then watched the Lancer bin it at T1. Soon, I was inching close to the Audi in 2nd when they suddenly disconnected. At that point, the SLS in 1st was within sight but I wasn't sure what tire strategy they were on. I decided to stretch out the tires to Lap 8.

Coming back out, I was in a good spot with no one around me. However, I was 11 seconds back and in 6th place. My thought was I was going to have to make every overtake attempt count but lo and behold, the leader binned it in Sector 2. By the time I finished my outlap, I was right behind a Citroen going after the SLS while everyone else ahead of me had pitted. The win was for the taking but the top 2 weren't going to let me have it easy. Poked my nose a few times, finally got around the Citroen and made an outside pass on the SLS. Cruised on from there for a surprise win.

Nations was nice. My qualy lap was bad because I got traffic but don't think id have got a better position. I went conservative the whole race trying to save tyres in the case of the people I was fighting pitted. Nice battle too.

Manufacturers was always going to be bad with the Vantage tyre wear. My qualy was average and my first 2 laps pace was slow making sure I would be fighting in the middle pack, which can be extremely frustrating with all the contacts.

I feel this video needs a little explanation. It opens with a bit of carnage. The driver in question was glitching throughout the race. If you don't want to watch the entire thing, just look at 2:05, 3:10, 5:00, 5:30 and 15:10. He had one dot, not bar, one dot as signal strength. Needless to say, he was teleporting all over the place as if he was on Star Trek making it impossible to know where he was and how to pass. He said I was being dirty, but I try my best to run a clean race and when I thought the line was clear he would pop up again. But at the 15:30 mark you can see what he did. He didn't even hit the brakes. Totally intentional. I did call him a bad name at the end of the race and told him I would "see him next Tuesday. I apologize for that. I'm not trying to call him out in any way. Everyone should have the opportunity to race online. But there should be a "minimum" signal strength when racing online so that these types of things don't happen and we all have fun.

Manufacturers race was so much fun.

Had a good battle with Turismo-Lester. My Corvette had the pace to keep up with his GT4, but Lester was much better at preserving tires. It was extremely tough to keep pace with him.

Decided to race Manufacturer with my american account as well and enjoyed the race a lot. Messed up my last qualifying lap with low fuel and fresh tyres, but can't complain about the race result.

FIA EX Series S3 schedule is up!
https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/gtsport/news/00_4643004.html

Only 9 rounds in that, possibly due to the World Finals being held at the 17th...

Appearances of Catalunya include Nations Round 8 and Manufacturers Rounds 4 and 7.
Starting time for each race, every day: 21:10, 22:10, 23:10, 00:10, 01:10.
So they changed the starting time schedule as well.
That’s bad, i‘m Working shifts and when I have late shift, I won’t be able to race anymore:/
It’s beyond me why there have to be races starting so late...

You're looking at that from the wrong country :p! The races are now in fact an hour earlier with the clocks going back :p, I personally liked them where they were :(.

edit: FINALLY GR.2 at Fuji! Been waiting for that combo!
