Anyone else notice that softs at Fuji were absolutely trash? On worn mediums I was doing 1:41 and 1:42s and fresh softs had no grip and I was doing 1:44s. They felt brutal to, felt like I was using hards. I finished next to last in Manu in a room of As and a few of fellow Bs. I keep getting put in good lobby's for Manu when I don't practice.

Nations went well enough, finished 4th in a B lobby. I practiced hard for that one and thought I might have been able to win it.

Well, I just had an interesting one, get into a lobby with a 18 on my car, so a high point lobby, then, everyone gets disconnected except for me and 2 others... So we had a 3 way race for 1558, 1494, and 1400 points... I qualified on pole, was a tad quicker than the other two, but somehow did not manage my tires properly (It was a boring race) and missed a corner. Finished second for 1494 points in a 3 man lobby :/

Did only 1 race of the manufacturers championship, had a sloppy qualifying and ended up 7th, managed to bring myself up to 5th by the 5th lap, after the stops I was making a move on the driver who would eventually go onto an easy third, before I got punted from behind on the slow chicane by an overeager viper driver on old tires. All in all 1200 point haul for 5th wasn’t terrible. I just know I could of finished on the podium if it weren’t for that one shunt. I also managed to remedy my wear issues on the mustang that I was experiencing during practice lobbies.

I love how I am your thumbnail haha That was a rough race for me! I kept getting bumped!

Hey! We were on the first lobby together! Good race dude!

I did the Nations race yesterday and put myself on pole ahead of @ShiftingGears by about 0.2 of a second. I was the only one in the 1:24's, albeit only just (1:24.955). Got off to a good start but I made a small mistake going into the chicane at the bottom of the hill, losing first. But I regained the lead on lap 6, and then pitted on the next lap. I came out 2 seconds in front of @ShiftingGears in second, and pulled out a massive gap. I won the race by 10 seconds and got my SR up to an S again. Which is problem because next time I do a Nations race, I'll race against the fastest drivers in the region:lol:

Thrashed me. I absolutely shredded my tyres by lap 6 of each stint.

My first two manufacturers rounds went better than expected. Round 3 (for me) last night didn't go so well.

My qualifying strategy was to blast out an out lap and an in lap, burning off fuel and coming in for fresh tyres. Did my next outlap and started my flying lap. Going into turn 1 a car that had just come out of the pits ran into me THREE TIMES damaging my car and ruining the lap :banghead:

So started P15 when I was seeded 7th wasn't a great start. I decided on a 1 stop on all mediums but wasn't convinced it was the best plan. Managed to get up to P9 at one point but by the end of the race my tyres were shot. Lost 2 positions in the last few corners to finish a disappointing 12th. The only real positive being I managed to stay clear of a lot of carnage at T1 and the slow chicane at the bottom of the circuit.

Up to 32nd in the Ford rankings off of 3 rounds so improvements are to be made. I can't race on Saturday so I'll start on some Brands Hatch practice.

I don't think Ford is for me, or maybe I should have gone for the GT rather than the Mustang. What I do need to work on is tyre wear. It's not my strong point at all and maybe a two stopper would have worked better for me. Ah well.

I drive the mustang and I’m currently second for ford, the best advice I can give you is brake balance to the rear on most tracks, the flatter the more you can get away with using. Also try to use the whole width of the track, the mustang has amazing traction coming out of turns, I rarely have to correct, it does suffer from some understeer, being a big v8, but that’s easily corrected by getting your braking points right. My fastest practice time was a 1:37.4 which was only a second and a half behind some better driver/car combos. If you want to watch some of my replays I’ll be glad to share them.

Seeing your replays would be fantastic, I really appreciate the help and advice. Other than the tyre wear (which is likely down to me) I do like the Mustangs. There is some understeer but it is manageable and like you say, traction out of the corners is fantastic and certainly a strong point for the car.

If or when you get a flying lap done for Brands Hatch I'd really appreciate seeing that. Good luck for the rest of the season 👍

add me on PSN its the same as here.

Did nations twice. First I got traffic on my second and much better hotlap, even though I let a 5-10s gap for the car in front of me. So I started 9th and couldnt do much. Second try was much better. Decent qualy lap and decent race. Good points.

For Manufacturers I lost the first slot due to connection problems, and only raced once on the second one. Qualy was bad, half a second faster on what I couldve done if I had more time to warm up (manu races now start at XX:00 on Latam servers, so you have basically 5-10 minutes to get used to the car, and going from Gr2 to Gr3 is a massive change, I personally need more time to adapt). Still managed 5th in the grid, went up to 3rd after some chaos in front. During the race, I couldnt get out of the slipsream range from the Lexus behind. He punted me twice on turn 4 which led to extra tyre wear and made the Merc caught us. In lap 12, the Lexus was nowhere near close to me to make a move, didnt even was showing in the radar, went for a divebomb and pushed me off in the hairpin. That move made the Merc put itself alongside me for the next turn, I managed to defend but for the next one, he still had some overlapping, I hit him and got a 3s pen. Really hate driving against these guys that keep hitting you in the back, they don't know how to use the brakes.

Well here is my report from yesterday, have not had a chance to edit video yet but will post later.

Nations Cup:

Let me start by saying that I was really dreading Grp 2 with CSA turned off, I hate how "skittery" these cars feel, although my confidence
with them has improved considerably I literally took each corner holding in my breath hoping I didn't take someone out in the process.

I am still DR D so I was in a D rank lobby, I picked the GT-R because it's my favorite one of the three 2016 cars.

Having been getting some practice with the Honda Beat I knew my braking points pretty well and I was lucky in that I went out with some
space to qualify in and drove for my life, the result was I qualified 2nd with a 2:17 as one other player got a better time of a 2:16 so 2nd
off the starting grid was a good feeling.

The race began and I knew I had to be careful, my strategy was ambitious to go 9/5 for the pit stop but if I mucked up it would be all
over bar the screaming!

At the end of the chicane on Lap 1 P1 spins it on the rumble strip and I am clear to focus on my race and I drove very well and got to my
pit stop on Lap 9 with almost no fronts left, I took on new tyres and the required fuel and another car just skips ahead of me into 1st place
but his tires were clearly gone as he was struggling and had to pit the next lap.

I continued my race and then disaster in the chicane on the final lap! Hitting the rumble strip through me sideways yet somehow I managed
to hold the car together but I was only 3 seconds ahead of second and it was enough for him to get me and so I finished the race 2nd.

Considering how difficult Grp 2 was I was happy to settle for that!

Manufacturers Cup:

This race qualifying was an absolute farce is the best I have to say about my opponents! I started in last place.

The old "me" of online would have given up at this point but I have a determination this year to pull something out of a bad situation
so I knuckled down and although some "tiffs" with other cars my long strategy with the Mustang on Medium tires from start saw
me get myself up into 1st place.

I went for pits on Lap 9 and then switched to soft compound, this saw me come out in 5th place which is where I finished the race
although I was pulling the best lap times through the remaining laps.

Was an enjoyable result and fitting that I used my Asuka Shikinami Evangelion livery since she has a fiery temper and wants to be
the best result!

A quick resume of my manufacturer yesterday. After an horrible qualif , a good come back to 10th position , but i was bumped and sweep out back to the end of the race. Anyway , it was fun , a good race full of action.

That was horrible as we got disconnected during the warmup lap (15 drivers - it made no sense). I had raced a previous race and when I went back the score went to a 0 like I disconnected on purpose. If I would have realized it prior I would have raced the last race instead of getting 0 points. So a word of warning, if disconnected during warm up lap that will be counted as "your last race" and you will get 0 points.

I've been disconnected of 2 manufacturer in a row yesterday and it happen after the qualify just entering on the starting grid for the last slot south america. No 0 points at all , just nothing .

oh man I thought everyone was disconnected. In the slot after it most people there said they dc also so I assumed the whole lobby crashed.

I really wanted to run a 22.xxx for qualifying but everyone decided to crash around me on my low fuel run. Had to do fuel savings because of dirty air but a surprise chance for a win came late.

Manu qualifying was something I had practiced because Rexy not being in front here meant being sent into the Shadow Realm. Unfortunately, my second flier was such an abomination because of the second turn. No idea why but it's ridiculously hard to hit the apex in bumper view. Banker had the same mistake.

Drove more aggressive than my norm and when you see Rexy on the straights trying to pass, you'll see why. Definitely not lacking in action, this race.

Question...

As I'm not as well versed in GT Sport as some people are here on GTPlanet, I was wondering if someone could explain why I was "predicted" as 1st in a room that had a bunch of S/S rated players who also had way better points than I did???

I'm Happy with the result (placing top 5), but I'd like to understand the ranking before the race... please and thank you!

You had the highest DR rank in the lobby, DRS doesn’t mean a higher rank. Anyone can get it if they finish high enough in fia at the end of a season. They are still for example a DRB but the S just replaces it.

First race was 1,140 so not top end but would have kept it over a 0 as it would have counted at this stage as one of my 4. Especially since I only had 3 races going into last night completed.

I tought for sure the lobby was crashing, 1 by 1 the names were "leaving the room" but, the timer ran out, and we started Q 3 way...

I was in that race, and it was a little bit more violent from where I was driving. I've put a little bit of a greatest hits video. I did get a bit peeved in the middle of the race, so I am not an angel, but some of the moves seemed a bit ill thought for an AS lobby.
Not sure who gets the best hit, but I think the last lap hit on NudePlum is probably the winner (starts at 5:45 in the video if you want to skip the rest)

Yes , really wild , i don't know what is the point to race like this, gaining a position on dirty moves ..... It happen to me sometimes for lack of skills perhaps , but this is not the case here , clearly.
